Chapter 1Elena

It was a stormy night, the dark rain clouds blocked out the sky and the icy cold wind sent shivers down the spine of everyone it touched.

However, while others were rushing to get home or seek shelter from the rain, a lonely figure stood on the very top of a sky scraper overlooking the city.

From the shape of the figure one could tell that it belongs to a woman. The lady is dressed completely in black leather full bodysuit that cling tightly to herseductive body with two metallic pauldrons on her shoulders and high heels. She looked

She wore a large red scarf around her neck that reached all the way to the back of her knees. The scarf also acted as a hoody to shield her head from the rain, making it look like she was hearing an hijab.

A Venetian mask with intricate designs covered her face. Behind the mask one could see purple iris staring straight ahead with an indifferent and cold gaze.

A few strands of onyx black hair peeked out from behind the scarf which flapped along with the wind, dancing to it rhythm.

On her back is a beautiful red katana with a black scabbard. The guard of the sword was of a dragon biting it own tail.

She had a mysterious and powerful aura around her as she stood still like a statue with her hands crossed on the very edge of the building unconcerned about the rain as she watched over the city like a guardian angel.

She stood there for what felt like hours unmoving. But a change soon occurred. Her gaze that has been indifferent since the beginning suddenly lit up and a small smile graces her beautiful lips.

The next thing she did, however, was nerve wrecking. Without any hesitation she leaped off the edge of the skyscraper with her limbs were stretched out as she soared through the air like an eagle.

If there was anyone here to witness this scene right now they would be scared out of their mind.

That's a four hundred floor sky scraper!

what she had just done was not different from committing suicide. No one could ever survive such a fall.

She was surely gonna die.

…..

Ring … Ring…

Inside a futuristic bedroom, a digital alarm rang loudly with vigor, determined to wake

up it's owner.

A low defiant groan came from the bed before a figure started to move underneath the duvet. The duvet was roughly tossed to the side revealing the person it had held captive previously.

A beautiful lady with sparkling black hair that fell below her shoulder blades sat up straight on the bed.

She had a beauty that made those billboard-princesses look as paper thin as they are.

After grumbling something about damn alarm clocks waking her up on her off day she got up from her bed revealing that she was wearing nothing but black sport underwear.

She has an athletic build and looked petite but with curves in the right places.

Her hair which should have been ruffled up as a sign that she had just woken up was

surprisingly neat as if she had just finish combing it, not a single strange was out of place.

She has well shaved eyebrows and her face was the shape of an heart.

There was also a mature and superior aura around her. A stark contrast to her current behavior.

A better way to put it would be that she looked like an angel or even a succubus, a beauty among beauties with a killer body that any woman would kill for had it been a century ago.

But in this current age anyone could get the same thing if they had the money or resources to undergo a full body surgery. Even the DNA could be modified so that future generations could benefit as well. So it wasn't that exaggerated.

Her sapphire blue eyes darted to the head of her bed and locked onto the virtual alarm that was still ringing loudly while hovering at the head of her bed.

The time written on the virtual alarm clock reads 7:30 AM, with the date being the march 30th of the year 2085, but she wasn't concerned about that. Rightnnow she wanted nothing more than to shut up that damn virtual alarm clock that continued ringing even after it had disrupted her sweet dreams.

However, rather than reach out a hand to turn off the virtual alarm clock she simply gave a gentle command "Shut up!" and the alarm immediately went silent before disappearing from her sight back to wherever it came from.

'Stupid virtual alarm clock'

The lady mumbled, still upset about having her sleep interrupted.

It was already obvious that she wasn't an early morning person.

But for some reason she felt pleased with herself after shutting up the alarm clock.

She walked up to her ceiling to floor bedroom window and gently opened the drapes and the sight beyond it was something to behold.

What appeared outside her bedroom window was a futuristic world, one that looked like it was taken out of a sci-fi movie.

Skyscrapers reaching into the clouds appeared in her view in grand styles and shapes.

Some of the skyscrapers had holographic adverts in neon colors floating around them so one could tell for what purpose the building was used for, while other were more

exquisite and expensive looking than the others, standing proud among the dozens of skyscrapers, this types were in the minority.

Small flying metallic boxes that looked like cars without wheel zoomed back and forth between the buildings. Some of them were so fast that if you blink you will miss it.

In this era, the world has already evolved beyond the norms. Things like genetically

modifying a human body, cyber limbs, neural links and implants, flying cars, artificial intelligence, aircraft, androids and the likes were now possible.

This breakthrough in science brought about the greatest changes to all man kind.

But along with it came a lot of bad things as well. If before you needed an assassin to kill

someone, now you can just do it by hacking the person's neural link or implant. The rate at which crime are committed became high and this brought about a lot of pressure to the government.

"What a beautiful sight" Elena exclaimed in awe. No matter how many times she has seen it she just couldn't get enough of this

sight.

It was a very beautiful sight but at the same time it was a very dangerous one since an

underworld city exists underneath it ruled by a dark gang. The government were helpless against them so they decided to ignore their very existence. It's like that saying, let sleeping dogs lie, but in this case it goes both ways.

This city was among the most cybernetic cities in the world. Almost everyone has a neural link since things like phones and letters no longer exists. Only those who

refused to undergo neural link implants uses letters and such this days. And they were in the minority. They don't make up ten percentage of the Earth's population.

A small round glowing blue objects on the temple of a person's head is a sign of those who had undergone neural link implant.

Anything that needed to be done were done using the neural link. It was a necessity if one wanted to live in this world.

Just as she was thinking about the changes of the world her neural link alerted her of an

incoming call.

There was a glint in her eyes as she stared at the name displayed on her retina. Why is he calling me so early?

Despite her confusion she still chose to answer the call.

Beep

But as soon as she did an anxious voice sounded inside her head.

"Elena, we have got a problem"

Apocalypse: Transmigrated with an Overlord System

Liora had everything, silk gowns softer than clouds, and eleven royal brothers who treated her like a jewel. Her days were filled with naps and banquets, her biggest worry being whether sapphire blue matched better with her crown than royal gold. But fate had a cruel sense of humor. One night, she fell asleep in her warm bed with wine in her hand. The next, she woke up in a nightmare. A world ravaged by zombies. Smoke and ash filled the air. The ground was stained with blood. Her palace? Gone. Her servants? Gone. Her status? Worthless. The only thing that remained? Her will to survive. With no training, no supplies, and no clue how to swing a weapon, she was thrown straight into the depths of hell, until a cold mechanical voice echoed in her mind. [Welcome, Host. You have activated the Overlord System.] It sounded powerful, promising... until she learned the truth. She had no abilities, no resources, and a system that cared more about giving her impossible missions and drowning her in cosmic debt than helping her stay alive. While others awakened fire or telekinesis, she was stuck dodging Level 2 zombies with nothing but her fists and pure desperation. Every fight was a gamble. Every step forward cost blood, sweat, or worse—sanity. Yet she rose. She built her own base from scratch. Controlled supplies. Built a black market network in the ruins. People started to follow her, fear her, and even rely on her. And then he showed up. The aloof, deadly awakened one who never cared for others—until her. With piercing eyes and unmatched power, he could destroy armies. But when he tried to get close, to protect her, to understand her, Liora was too busy reinforcing her walls and negotiating food rations to entertain his brooding charm. He said he wanted to fight beside her. She said, "Unless you're here to dig trenches or clear zombies, move aside." He brought her rare supplies—medicine, clean water, even a working generator. She didn’t blink. "Bribing me with electricity? Cute. Now get in line with the others if you want shelter." Because in this world, there was no room for love when survival was still uncertain. But love, like the undead, is persistent. Trigger Warning: Violence, Gore, System Abuse, Psychological Trauma, Romantic Tension.
