COMING FROM DUST

In a post apocalyptic world , destruction was rampant and chaotic. Deserts were everywhere and cold water was a thing of the past. A fantasy. Thus humans adapted or rather forced to adapt to use of hot water for every use including drinking.

This led to the creation of a new, international religion based on the use of hot water. Led by the High Priest, this religion grew unbelievably fast that, it became a force to reckon with in world governance. It's only rival in influence was the United Nations, or rather what was left of a once powerful institution. This growth was accelerated by the weariness, hopelessness and blanket despair humanity had faced. Thus, the religion offered solace and distraction from everything. It also enforced the use of hot water.

However, despite all this, there was a village that had survived.

Tucked away between a huge scarred mountain, a mountain range, a high plateau and an escarpment, was a village. It was well hidden with the use of Riwi stones( stones made of highly advanced ancient technology that creates a barrier all around the village protecting it from the harsh world).

Rubbing his curly black hair, Kim looked around the safe-zone. This was a place between the ranges that served as a training ground as well as a hunting area for warriors. It also contained dangerous post apocalyptic animals that were eatable while others were dangerous. The dangerous often appeared at night.

He looked around again, searching for the four-eyed Zelle. His concentration was broken by Thia, his best friend, sort of. Thia put his arm across his shoulder and silently pointed out an animal eating the burnt green grass. It was a Zelle, a male. He takes out his metal bow and pulls the aluminium string, a laser arrow appears as well as a scope. He releases. The Zelle falls down dead.

Thia lets out a low whistle, "Nice", he says as he heads down towards the dead animal. Kim looked around again. He was bored. He loved the village and chances to go to the safe-zone but sometimes, it was boring.

The only thing that he looked forward to was Splash. It was an event, much like a festival, where everyone was able to play, swim and enjoy themselves in water. Cold water.

"Kim"! Thia shouted at him worriedly. He rushed down to where Thia was. " What were you thinking about"?Thia asked as he continued with skinning the animal. He was going to sell it later. Kim sighed, his day just got longer. "Maybe you were thing of the Leader's second daughter eh "? Kim just took out his own leza knife and began cutting up meat into huge portions, intent on ignoring Thia. " Of course you are cos wueh, she's beautiful very beautiful ", he continues still skinning the animal. He's about to continue but is stopped by Kim who says," Let's finish up first Thia then talk later." Thia sulked, "You're no fun when you're bored ", he replies and goes silent. They continued working silently each doing their part.

A slight shuffle and a heavy thud stopped them. Kim stood on alert, pulling out his hunting weapon, while Thia still crouched used his sharp eyes looking around him. A small aqua blue piece of cloth caught the corner of his left eye. Tapping Kim's leg, they headed towards it cautiously.

The aqua blue piece became larger as they drew closer and closer. Slowly, the shape of a human came to view. The human seemed unaware of the two boys coming for him .
