Chapter 37: The Truth, unmasked!

'Chris... ' Hazel's voice came out as a whisper, as she grew restless after listening to Chris's dad.

'Dad, that's enough! I have never regretted having you in my life please don't make me' he said storming off.

'…I deserve that! after all I haven't been the typical dad to him and now when I want to make things right…it keeps backfiring' His dad said looking into a distance his thoughts fogged with despair.

'Mr. Finch?' Hazel called out trying to pull him back from his thoughts.

'I have to go' he said turning away trying to hide away his pain.

'Charlotte, have you seen Chris?' Hazel asked catching her breath, cornering Charlotte.

She had searched the whole house since the moment he had stormed off but in vain.

'No, don't tell me he disappeared somewhere' Charlotte said annoyed.

'No, he had a clash with his dad and I didn't see him after that' she answered looking around the place.
