Awaiting My Invitation

Each day after establishing my territory I fought crime within Moonlight City. and to throw suspicion off of my other identify, I would visit Gotham City and sing. Since the Alien Invasion they had incorporated 'Gotham City by R Kelly' that I had sung at the stadium as their cities anthem.

They sang the song before special occasions, like sporting events. That day a few people had recorded me singing after announcing the Aliens were defeated by the heroes, so my non Hero side was already starting to gain popularity at least within Gotham. The kids at the orphanage felt proud that they knew me personally and would brag every chance they got.

As I fought crime everyday within Moonlight City and did my Celebrity work within Gotham whenever I could, time passed by and still no contact from the other Justice League founders. It had been almost two months since I had established the City. I would have worried if it wasn't for my pending 'Founding Hero' title that still existed and was pending.

Batman was smart guy and should know where to find me. My Hero self had already made a name for itself within Moonlight city.

My guess was that the time between episodes in reality was a lot more far apart than it was in the show. In the show, you would watch an episode and then move onto the next one right away so it would seem that it was just the next day, but in reality a tower in space isn't built in a day even if you are batman, with unlimited money, and super friends to help build it.

So as I waited to be contacted, I continued to fight low level street crime and make coins through system task's each day. I also often went to the oceans floor to trained.

Saiyan's could already hold their breath for long periods of time, but with the lung capacity upgrade I had bought from the shop for my singing a while back, I could spend virtually a full day under water without coming up to breathe. It was absolutely insane.

This also meant I can fly in space for a full day without worry.

Summer was starting to end and Autumn was approaching. The trees leaves were starting to fall, plant colors all around started to change to oranges, reds, yellow's, and browns, the temperature cooled, and the smell of decay was in the air.

Enough time had passed since I made my appearance as King Moonlight in Moonlight City and it was now time to debut as my Celebrity self in Moonlight City soon as well.

After making the mental decision in my head, it seemed the system had understood my decision and gave me a new task.

...

New tasks available:

Sing in the center of moonlight city when the harvest moon appears tonight.

Reward: 5000 coins. Penalty: N/A

Add theatrics to performance

Reward: 1500 coins. Penalty: N/A

Move the hearts of Moonlight City

Reward: 25 coins per person that was moved by song.

Penalty: Host will be frozen in a block of ice for a week if host does not move at least 50 hearts.

...

It was a bit last minute of the system to do this. It should start getting dark in about 3 hours or so. I had a lot to get setup if I wanted it to go well.

I made an announcement to the people of Moonlight City.

"As promised, I will bring the innocent in heaven down to the city on every harvest moon. Tonight we will have our first harvest moon. I encourage everybody that has lost a loved one that died young in this city or was a genuinely good person to be ready and greet them."

After making the city announcement I walked out my front door and started to set up and buy any equipment that I would need.

I had all my instruments and mic hooked up to a PA system I had installed around my house. I would have preferred to have speakers up all over the city to have more listeners, but that was too much work and I didn't have enough coins. I had also bought a stage riser, a light system, and around 250 fireworks that I set up around the stage to go off at a set time.

I'm not a huge environmentalist and although I would have preferred a drone show, it would have been more expensive and I wouldn't know how to do one even if I bought the drones anyway.

The total cost of what I bought was around 1450c. Luckily items like these were cheap in the system and I could buy quite a bit. I didn't hold back, sometimes you have to spend money to make money.

After setting all that up, I recorded all the instrument pieces and put them together on my computer, so I could just press play later and focus on my singing instead of juggling different instruments while I sing.

Little did I know, a reporter from Central City had heard of the huge changes in moonlight city and was here to report on it. She had been here a week already and had planned to leave another week from now.

The reporter's name was Iris west and she had already collected a lot of material for her story about the city, it's hero, and the odd things the moon phases does to the city. Having heard the city announcement herself as she was talking to a local, she couldn't let herself miss such an event and made her way to the center of the city.

Once she had set up her camera, ready for some shots of the paranormal, she noticed someone near her setting up what looked like a stage for a show. Iris was in the know of most things including new and trendy indie artist, so she recognized Prince Aeric right away and moved her camera to record his every action.

Her reporters intuition told her that this story could earn her a Pulitzer Prize if she didn't mess it up. She knew Prince Aeric was a small time indie artist, but she felt if she didn't focus on the stage being set up in the middle of a city that is about to welcome the dead, then she may as well quit being a journalist.
