Chapter 5

Blue's POV

I looked terrible today.

My eyes had bags under them, my hair was just a mess, and my cheeks had marks on them. I had no sleep last night and I only couldn't find the urge to sleep at all like I usually do, only if I'm studying for a test.

Opening the cabinet to see my contacts, I grabbed them then sat them in front of me. I wasn't going all day being blind.

I stick the contact in both of my eyes, making sure it was on securely. Fuck, I hate wearing these things.

Looking at myself in the mirror, my skin looks a little paler than usual and you could tell I haven't slept at all.

I did my daily hygiene, then walked out of my bathroom and into my room. I grab my backpack and my phone then walk out of my room.

My mom was sipping on her coffee while looking at a furniture magazine when I walked into the kitchen. Violet was eating Cheerios while kicking her legs back and forth, singing to herself.

My mom looked up from her magazine. "You look horrible Blue! Did you get any sleep last night?" She places her hand on my forehead to check if I was under the weather.

"I was studying for a big test today mom." I lied not wanting to tell her about what happened and she nodded believing what I said.

Of course, she believes what I said.

I'm going to Starbucks to get some coffee so I can wake myself.

I left the kitchen without saying goodbye then went outside. I jump into my Jeep and turn on the radio. Crying In The Club was playing.

This is something Grace would listen to, but I kept it on because I like the melody of the song.

I pulled up at Starbucks with a little time to spare so I could get to my locker before the bell rings for the first period.

Starbucks was dead which was a surprise since it's always busy on this kind of morning.

A chirpy woman greeted me with a smile. "Welcome to Starbucks, what can we get for you?" I look up at the menu deciding what I want.

"I'll have the Ice Coffee, Tall size." She nodded, turning around to make it.

It was too cold for it, but I need it to help me wake up.

She handed me my drink and I gave her the money, tipping her also. I walked out of the place while sipping on my drink.

Do you ever feel like something is about to happen? Yeah, I feel it in my bones.

Walking up to my locker and opening it, I put my books in for my classes for the day.

I closed the locker to meet with Mason leaning against the locker. He was giving me that smile that showed his pearly white teeth.

He was wearing a white hoodie, ripped blue jeans, and his black and white vans. His brown hair was a wild mess, but he made it work, and his blue eyes that were shining from the light.

I never noticed he had freckles on his nose. Maybe because I don't pay attention to him.

I raised a brow at him. "Are you going to stand there and stare?" I was tired of his presence already.

He laughed and responded. "I'm going to make a once and a lifetime opportunity."

"Look, I don't want to hear about this opportunity you're trying to offer me. Whatever it is you can offer it to someone else who gives a fuck." I walk away from him, but he pulls me into the closet where it was dark.

"What the hell are you going to make me miss class─" He cuts me off by pressing his lips on mine. My eyes grew wide while my heart was beating like crazy. Tingles were forming my body and I feel like I couldn't breathe.

I push him away having my lips still tingling from the kiss we shared. I turn around to switch the light on and no surprise to see him smirking at my reaction.

"What the fuck?! You just kissed me!" I yelled at him and he looked unfazed by my yelling.

"I like you." He said simply.

What does he mean he likes me?

Did he tackle me to the ground yesterday and out of nowhere he likes me? "You can't just like someone out of the blue. How the hell does that work?! Not just yesterday you tackled me to the ground then called me a virgin."

"That's what people do when you so head over heels over your crush you do dumb things. I didn't want you to know that."

I snorted at his bullshit as an excuse. "You say that to everyone Mason, I'm not fucking dumb. You're playing games with me and I'm not going to be part of it."

"I'm serious Blue."

"Now you know my name?! The player in the whole school knows my name!" I said like I was about to lose my mind.

"You don't believe me?"

"Nope."

"Then I'll prove it to you." He replied while walking up to me, but I pushed him back again from his attempt to kiss me again.

"That's not proving anything to me."

"Do I have to drop off a plane with a banquet of roses telling you I like you?"

"Go to hell Mason." I hiss at him, opening up the door to the closet and leaving him in there by himself.

What a great way to start the day I thought to myself as I head to class that already started.

Luckily Mrs. Ducan let me in the classroom because I told her I was running late. Though I couldn't pay attention to what she was talking about. I don't know why my lips were still tingling when Mason kissed me.

Did I like it?

My stomach started to form butterflies of the memory of Mason kissing me.

The bell ranged for the period to be over. No surprise Mason didn't show up to class when we had our little meeting in the closet.

The day went by slower than it supposed to be. I just wanted to go home, get under the covers, and cuddle with my cat so I could sleep my problems away.

I sat down at a lunch table by myself, not wanting anyone to mess with me. Then I plug in my headphones to my phone and turn on some depressing music from my playlist.

Music helps me cope with my feelings.

Someone pulls my earphone from my ear and I look up to see Zack who was smiling down at me.

Why do people love messing with me?

"Why are you sitting here alone?" He asked me.

I shrugged from his question. "I like being alone. It is better to be alone."

"Can I join you?"

"Fuck no." I replied in annoyance that he is even talking to me.

"Okay, thanks!" He sits down in a chair next to me. Is he deaf or something? Did I just say he couldn't sit next to me?

"I said no."

"But your body was telling you yes and what are you listening to?" He asks, trying to look on my phone.

"None of your damn business."

"Damn can I try to get to know you?" He pouted at me that I wasn't making conversation with him.

I don't know why he wants to get to know me. I don't like him nor do I ever plan on liking him.

"No, I'm not in the mood for your little wise words."

"Who made you mad?"

"Everyone."

"And how do you feel about that?" He asks me in a professional voice, feeling intrigued.

"Look here Dr. Phil, I didn't sign up for you to ask me about my problems. I don't even know you." I glared at him and he just smiled at me like he was enjoying this.

"You could get to know me." He trails off his words.

"No, I don't want to get to know you and I don't want you here with me! Would you leave me the fuck alone?! I'm already confused enough!" I yelled at him, getting up from the table having the cafeteria go silent.

Tears stream down my face as I walk into the bathroom. I look at myself in the mirror while gripping the sink.

My grip causes my knuckles to turn white and I cough on my sobs as I wipe my face with my hoodie.

I'm breaking.

"What is happening to me?" My voice cracked as I tried to shake myself back to reality.
