Rey's POV

On the first day of my high school life, people said "high school is the best and the most precious time for everyone's life". But have a bad feeling about what will happen to my life.

"So this is Invictoria High, it's not that bad I guess."

That was my reaction when I arrive at the gate.

Invictoria High is not a high school that you aiming for, it's just a plan B. Most of the students here are just "exile" because they don't pass top High schools in this country. Most of them are Mid-Rank and a little of High-Rank. Low-Rank is kinda rare here because of the regulation from the school itself.

"Beautiful isn't it?"

"Huh?"

"The sky… I like how they colored with blue."

Suddenly, a short brown-haired girl in front of me talks to me about how beautiful the sky is. Then she turns around and our eyes meet. Her beautiful bright green eyes could make every man in this world skip a beat.

"Oh sorry, I don't know someone's nearby. I was talking to myself there."

"Ahh it's fine, I thought you were talking to me haha, my bad."

"Okay then, see you later!"

She runs and smiles at me, I can't deny that her smile actually gorgeous. From her outfit, I can tell she attend the same high school as me, but she's beyond my league, there's no way I can get close to her. Besides, I'm just a Low-Rank.

I walk slowly along the corridor while finding my class. Since this school is somewhat big enough to get lost, It's kind of crowd here because today is the first day of school so a freshman like me have difficulty finding our class

*BOOM*

Something explodes behind me, I tried to look over it but smokes covers my vision.

"IT" S TIME TO PAY KEN!!!"

I can see a big guy maybe 7 feet tall or higher strangle someone who is actually really small if you compare to this monster.

"I swear I will pay it tomorrow, today I don't have any money."

The little guy answers it with a smile like this event is just a daily activity. But the big guy isn't satisfied with the answer. He clenches his fist and is ready to release his immense power. Everyone in the corridor frees out and some of them close their eyes because scared of what will happen.

"That's enough!"

A voice for a far freeze everyone including both of them. Charisma from his voice you can feel it till u feel u need to obey him. I've heard about this onyx, "Voice of The King". The one who posses this onyx is the president of Invictoria High, Ikky light sphere.

"Daniel, let Ken go."

"Yes, Ikky"

The big guy releases his hand from that guy's neck. But his face is not welcoming at all. He's angry.

"And you Ken, keep your words, pay your debt tomorrow. Or I won't help you like this again."

"Yes, Ikky."

He kneels to Ikky with a smile on his face. It was just a glimpse but I think his eyeballs were into me for a millisecond. He holds his shoulder like he has been injured there. Ikky realizes his injury and suddenly my eyes and Ikky meet.

"You, escort him to the infirmary."

"Yes, Sir"

The rumor is right, my body moves as its own, his onyx is really suitable for a King. I lift his shoulder so I can bring him to the infirmary.

"who's your name freshman?"

"Uhhh... Rey, my name is Rey"

"Hello Rey, I'm Ken. It's a pleasure to know you"

He releases his hand from holding his shoulder, he fakes his injury. And start to walk like nothing happen.

"Rey… may I ask? What is your onyx?"

"Uhh… I'm sorry?"

"What is your onyx?"

His eyes stare at me full of intimidation. It feels like he threatening you inside out.

"Just kidding, My name is Ken and I don't have an onyx. Yes, I am powerless."

He casually tells me that he is powerless? it's a dangerous act to do since you just met me 5 minutes ago, someone stronger might crush you if you say that carelessly. it feels like he already knows me since the first time we met.

"So here we are in the infirmary. thank you for your company." Ken say it like he owns the place

"what are you doing here again? you got into a fight again?" A woman's voice from inside makes Ken tremble like his life at his final stake.

"Ahh... Ahahaha... I'm so sorry miss Veronica, but it's not my fault, Daniel threw the first punch!" Ken begs for mercy and tries to find some excuses

"Whatever, so who is this kid? I never know that you have a friend." Miss Veronica is looking at me curiously.

"Ohh... This is... Uhh..."

"My name is Rey, I am a freshman who accidentally runs into his trouble." I introduce myself since I also don't want to get into more trouble than this.

"A freshman... please don't make so much trouble for me, I had enough trouble to deal with. Especially with boys who fake their injury." She said it while broke her pencil, I tell you that she is currently in a bad mood, I can see Ken is also scared.

I admit that she has a good posture and a beautiful face for a nurse, but I sense her killing intention really clear. those boys might came for just to tease miss Veronica, but end up with a real injury. I need to be careful if I want to talk to her.

"What are you doing here freshman? I need to take care of Ken and you need to attend your class, or maybe you want to end up with some bruise huh?" She stares at me with killing intent, I already make a mistake.

"Yes, Ma'am!!" I say it by reflect

"Please just call me Veronica, I am not that old!" She broke her pencil again.

I run to my class in a hurry. Actually, I was almost late to attend my class, but fortunately, I arrive in time. There are two empty seats left, but thankfully one of them is in the corner of the class, and of course, I pick that seat.

I see everyone already make a group, there's a group with cool girls and cool boys, they might have a powerful onyx, maybe one of them is High-Rank and might dominate this class. There's also a perverted group and otaku's group, they actually look scary thought. And here I am beside the window alone. At least no one know who I am so no one will bother me.

"Hey! My name is Alan! What's your name?!" A very cheerful voice in front of me breaks my daydream.
