The Pain

Arrogance, a flaw mortals are cursed with since birth. An inflated idea of one's abilities. Until the battle against the Tree Sentinel, Kaylo has never experienced true pain. Rather it be despair, depression, or broken bones. He has never been in a fight in his life until this day. Without experience, it is a surprise he made way from the Tree Sentinel's path. Without his quick thinking, he would have perished from the start.

With no flask, and no way to heal himself, he was in a state of injury he could not fix. He laid there in the grass wheezing in pain while holding his bruised side. He wanted to scream. But his mind said no. He wanted cry. But his mind said no. He was fixated on the pain more than the loss. He couldn't imagine anything else. For the one who's completed Elden Ring through and through to forget the difficulty of this optional boss was a mishap in and of itself. His fight with the Beastman Of Farum Azula warped his perception of his own strength.

Writhing in pain, he made a decision after an hour of contemplating. "Laying here.....it won't help....I'm stuck here.....and I can't win against him....yet..." He held his side as he sat up. "Ugh..." He winced in pain at the slightest movement.

"I need to fight more...I need a maiden to turn help me get stronger...." He reached his hand out to the grace and allowed it to register his being. The light illuminates for a second before dimming back to its original luminous. Fighting in reality was a lot harder than the game. Their movements don't follow a simplistic pattern. The entities here do not telegraph every move they make.

He gripped his sword and looked at himself. "I can't let this pain get to me.....otherwise I won't survive. I don't know if I can ressurect like in the game. And I don't want to find out either..."

"Just smile.....smile..." His lips curve in a deceitful nature. Yet his eyes brew nothing but a cold winter. He almost looked like an asylum patient. "As they say..." He stood up and grunted lightly. His face fixed itself immediately, smiling at the adversity. "Fake it til you make it." His eyes shine red as the feeling of powerlessness over shines his being.

"I can beat em....I beat him before....I can do it again right?" Fantasy and reality creates a conflict within his mind. "I can beat him. If I beat him. I can get a lot of runes right?! I'll level up!! I'll find a maiden and get stronger..... I'll beat this game and go home..."

His fingers slide through the strands of his hair like a brush, pushing back his bangs. He clears his throat. Growling and rumbling his vocal cords to get rid of something. "Yes... I can beat him." The trembling words faded from his mouth. His fist clenched, digging his nails into his palms. "But I need something first..." He walked away from the grace. "Something important..."
