Gail strides through the SimQuest offices, her confident steps commanding the attention of the employees. As she passes, each person greets her with a respectful nod or a warm smile, recognizing her authority and influence within the company.
The developers and designers pause their work to acknowledge her presence, eager to catch her eye and potentially earn her favor. Gail's keen gaze sweeps across the bustling workspace, taking in the progress of various projects with a discerning eye.
Gail pauses beside a young designer's desk.
"Keep up the good work. I like what I'm seeing." The designer's eyes widen, a smile spreading across their face. They're honored to receive Gail's personal praise.
As Gail continues her tour, the employees maintain a reverent hush, their focus returning to their tasks with renewed vigor. They understand that Gail's approval can make or break a career at SimQuest, and they are determined to impress her with their dedication and innovation.
Gail nods approvingly as she observes the team's productivity and the steady stream of new ideas flowing through the office. Her reputation as a shrewd and visionary leader precedes her, and the employees are eager to demonstrate their worth to her.
Gail reaches her office and pauses at the threshold, taking one last look around the bustling workspace. A small smile tugs at the corners of her lips, a rare display of satisfaction.
"Looks like the team's really hitting their stride today," she thinks to herself. Gail knows that with her guidance and the talented individuals under her command, SimQuest is poised to reach new heights in the gaming industry.
With a confident stride, Gail enters her office, ready to dive into the day's challenges.
"Time to keep pushing this company forward," she mutters, settling into her chair. Gail pulls up the latest reports, eager to review the team's progress and identify any areas that need her attention. She's determined to continue shaping the future of SimQuest, one innovative project at a time.
Gail sits down at her desk and pulls up her email inbox. Her eyes scan the list of messages, quickly identifying the most pressing ones. She takes a sip of her coffee as she begins drafting her responses.
Gail: types "Thank you for the update, I'll review the project proposal and get back to you by the end of the day." pauses, then continues typing "The team did an excellent job on the demo presentation. Please pass along my commendation."
She sends the emails and leans back in her chair, considering the next steps. With a thoughtful nod, Gail turns her attention to the rest of her inbox, ready to tackle the day's work.
Gail remembers the new promising developer she recruited, Sam. All she knew is he is working on his simulation, but has not heard of him for a month. She is beginning to be worried. She thinks Sam is in a slump and could not work.
Gail frowns slightly, her brow creasing with concern. She taps her pen against the desk, pondering the situation. Reaching for her phone, she dials Sam's extension, hoping to check in on his progress.
After a few rings, Sam's voice comes through the line, sounding slightly strained. "H-hello? Gail?"
"Sam, it's good to hear from you," Gail says, her tone warm but firm. "I haven't heard an update from you in a while. Is everything alright?"
Sam's voice brightens as he responds, "Oh, everything's going great, Gail. The simulation is coming along really well. I'm actually almost finished with it."
Gail leans back in her chair, her expression softening with relief. "That's wonderful to hear, Sam. I'm glad to see you've made such impressive progress. Can you tell me a bit more about what you've been working on?"
Sam's voice grew animated as he described his latest creation. "Well, Gail, I've been working on a simulation that I think will really challenge the Hunters, but in a way that's both engaging and stylish."
Gail leaned forward, her interest piqued. "Stylish, you say? That's an intriguing way to put it. Can you elaborate on that?"
"Absolutely," Sam replied. "I wanted to create something that would really showcase the Hunters' skills, but in a way that feels more like a performance than just a battle. The simulation is set in a grand, gothic city, and the Hunters will face off against a variety of demonic foes, each with their own unique abilities and weaknesses."
Gail nodded, her mind already whirring with possibilities. "That sounds quite ambitious. What kind of demonic enemies are we talking about?"
"Well, for example, there's Cerberus, a three-headed guardian of the underworld gates, with powers over ice and frost," Sam explained. "And then there are the twin pair demons, Agni and Rudra, who command fire and wind, respectively. The Hunters will need to be quick on their feet and think strategically to take these creatures down."
Gail's brows rose in curiosity as Sam described the unique demonic foes he had created. "Cerberus and Agni and Rudra, you say? Those sound like quite formidable opponents. I must admit, I'm not familiar with those particular creatures."
A small smile tugged at the corners of her lips. "But I'm certainly intrigued. Would it be possible for me to try out this simulation of yours? I'd be honored to serve as a tester, to provide feedback and help refine the experience."
Sam's voice brightened with enthusiasm. "Absolutely, Gail! I would be thrilled to have you test the simulation. In fact, I can bring the Simulation Gem to the headquarters right away, if that works for you?"
Gail nodded, already anticipating the chance to immerse herself in Sam's creation. "That would be wonderful, Sam. Bring the Gem by as soon as you can. I'm eager to see what you've cooked up."
"Consider it done," Sam replied. "I'll head over there right now. Thank you, Gail, for the opportunity. I won't let you down."
"I have no doubt about that," Gail said, a note of confidence in her voice. "I look forward to seeing what you've accomplished, Sam. This should be quite an interesting experience."
Sam arrives at the SimQuest headquarters, the D-rank Simulation Gem clutched in his hand. He takes a deep breath, feeling a mix of excitement and anticipation, before making his way to Gail's office.
Knocking gently, he waits until Gail's voice beckons him to enter. "Come in, Sam."
Gail looks up from her desk, a small smile playing on her lips. "I'm glad you could make it. Did you bring the gem?"
Sam nods, stepping forward and presenting the Gem to Gail. "Yes, I have it right here. I'm eager for you to try out the simulation I've been working on."
Gail takes the Gem, turning it over in her hands with a contemplative expression. "Excellent. I've been looking forward to seeing what you've created." She gestures to the chair across from her. "Have a seat, and tell me more about it."
Sam settles into the chair, his posture straight and his gaze focused. "Well, as I mentioned, I've been working on a simulation that I think will really challenge the Hunters, both in terms of combat and strategy."
Gail nods, her fingers tracing the facets of the Gem. "I'm intrigued. What kind of challenges are we talking about?"
Sam nods, a hint of excitement in his voice. "It's better to experience it firsthand. Here, let me show you."
He gently places the D-rank Simulation Gem on Gail's desk, gesturing for her to take it. "Go ahead and try it out. I think you'll be impressed by what I've created."
Gail's eyes light up with curiosity as she picks up the Gem, feeling its weight in her hand. "Well, in that case, I can't wait to see what you've cooked up." She leans back in her chair, her gaze fixed on the Gem.
Closing her eyes, Gail channels her mana into the Gem, allowing her consciousness to be drawn into the simulation. A moment later, her eyes snap open, and she finds herself in a grand, neoclassical city.
Gail looks down at her hands, a sense of unfamiliarity washing over her. The body she inhabits is lean and muscular, clad in a distinctive red leather coat. Glancing around, she takes in the sight of the ruined city, its once-grand architecture crumbling, and the towering presence of Temen-ni-gru in the distance.
"What is this place?" Gail murmurs, her voice tinged with a deeper, more confident tone than her own.
She takes a few tentative steps forward, the weight of the body she now occupies feeling both foreign and strangely natural. Reaching to her back, her fingers brush against the hilt of a sword, and she pulls it free, the blade gleaming in the eerie light.
"This must be part of the simulation," Gail says, her brow furrowing as she examines the weapon. "But I don't recognize any of this."
Hearing a sudden noise, she whirls around, the sword held at the ready. Her gaze falls upon a figure approaching, their steps cautious and their expression wary.
"Who are you?" the stranger asks, his tone guarded. "And what are you doing here?"
Gail tightened her grip on the sword, her eyes narrowing as the figure drew closer. The creature was unlike anything she had ever seen before – its towering, imposing form radiated an aura of pure malice. As it emerged from the shadows, Gail could make out its features more clearly.
The demon's body was shrouded in a tattered, ebony robe, its face hidden behind a grotesque, featureless mask. In its bony, claw-like hands, it wielded a scythe, the blade gleaming with an ominous light. The demon's groan sent a shiver down Gail's spine, the guttural sound reverberating with a chilling, otherworldly quality.
Gail braced herself as more of the demonic figures materialized, surrounding her on all sides. Their soulless, empty eyes fixed upon her, and she knew she had to be ready to defend herself. Shifting her stance, Gail held the sword at the ready, her mind racing as she tried to anticipate the creatures' next move.
Gail gripped the Rebellion sword tightly, its weight and balance familiar in her hands despite the unfamiliar body she now inhabited. As the Pride demons closed in, she knew she had to act quickly.
With a deep breath, Gail launched herself forward, her movements surprisingly fluid and graceful. The sword became an extension of her arm, slicing through the air with precision and power. She parried the first demon's scythe, the impact sending vibrations through her body, but she held her ground.
Gail's footwork was nimble and sure, her body twisting and turning to evade the demons' attacks. She countered with swift, decisive strikes, her blade finding its mark with each blow. The Pride demons, taken aback by her unexpected skill, struggled to land a hit.
It was as if the body she inhabited knew exactly how to wield the Rebellion, the muscle memory guiding her actions. Gail moved with the confidence and fluidity of an experienced swordmaster, her attacks flowing seamlessly from one to the next. The demons' attempts to overwhelm her were met with a masterful display of defense and counterattacks.
Gail instinctively grabbed Ebony and Ivory, the twin pistols that felt like extensions of her own hands. She unleashed a barrage of rapid-fire bullets, each shot finding its mark with precision.
The Pride demons, caught off guard by the sudden onslaught, stumbled and fell one by one. Their grotesque forms crumpled to the ground, their unearthly wails echoing through the ruined city.
But Gail's respite was short-lived, as a new group of the demons surged forward, surrounding her on all sides. With a steely gaze, Gail holstered Ebony and Ivory and crouched, her muscles coiling with tension.
In a fluid motion, Gail leapt into the air, her body twisting and turning as she evaded the demons' attacks. From her vantage point, she rained down a torrent of bullets, the shots finding their mark with devastating precision. The demons below howled in pain as they were cut down one by one.
Gail landed gracefully, her eyes scanning the area for any signs of additional threats. The bodies of the defeated demons lay scattered around her, a testament to her formidable combat skills.
