Becoming a Dungeon Core

There will be mistakes as this is my first time writing. Don't expect great writing or plot, I have no clue what I'm doing Talk - " " Think - [ ] System - ( ) Author thought - [[ ]] Action - * * In a massive world, many times larger than Earth. Is filled with gods, magic, hundreds of intelligent species, dragons, orcs, goblins, and more monsters and beasts. Yet, they all point swords at each other. This world is made up of several massive continents. Most of these continents are on the brink of war or already in war. Yet some continents somehow find peace with each other. But other than that, this world is mostly stable. But that all changes when souls from different times, dimensions, galaxies, and universes, somehow end up in their world, either being summoned to stop some kind of demon king, reincarnated, or transmigrated. These souls change the balance of the world, either for the good or bad, always leaving a mark on history. Though these foreign souls that are not summoned are really rare, maybe 2 come every thousand years, as summoned ones are called by the gods and people during a time of need. But what would happen when a soul comes to this world, with a powerful ability, one that can change the entire balance of the world? Most would expect this type of soul to be a powerful dragon or a newly born god, yet most wouldn't expect the soul to be a small crystal rock the size of a blueberry. This soul will have a tough time growing strong, especially since many more reincarnated, transmigrated, or summoned souls are popping out everywhere. With numerous foreign souls unintentionally traversing through the fissures of space and time into this new world, what prevents foreign entities from following suit? What safeguards are in place to prevent their invasion of the new world?

Just like last time. Loud shots were heard again deep inside the cave. Yet this time a human, a robot, a drone, and an elf girl were walking down this dungeon.

An occasional small green crescent also flies down the cave, splitting any goblin it comes by in half. The elven girl was quite surprised at how efficiently the group worked and how fast they moved deep into the dungeon. The robot, which was named Ethan, would collect the goblin cores while collecting anything interesting while the flying thing, which is called a MQ-27-DragonFire, would kill everything it sees.

Alex and his group steamrolled the first floor, with the only thing they needed to worry about were traps, which Ethan had already stored the information about the location of these traps. They had nothing to worry about. Other than collecting whatever Ethan gives him. Alex stayed in the hands of Warren. Letting Ethan and the drone do all the work.

Knowing that it will take a bit to reach the boss room. Alex decided to look into his recently gained passive skill, [Ice Magic Affinity]. The only thing it says is that it's a basic affinity of ice magic and that the ice is very weak.

He stopped focusing on [Wind Cutter] and tried to figure out how to use his new affinity. He first thought about trying to activate it the same way he does with [Wind Cutter] but nothing happened. Nothing happened that was noticeable to him.

Warren though saw a very small amount of frost starting to build on his hand, which was where Alex was. But it didn't spread very far, maybe about a centimeter away. Other than feeling a small cold spot on his armor and seeing frost cover Alex's entire body, there was nothing else. It didn't really bother him.

Alex, during this time, had his eyes closed and thought about other novels and how their protagonist first started to use magic. The only thing he really remembered was that they closed their eyes and tried to sense something in their body.

So he did exactly that and tried to keep his mind clear and tried to enter his body, just like how he somehow does and enters when he sleeps.

For a whole minute nothing happened but as he was about to give up. He's back in that white space with his mana under him. And right in front of him was a cyan-colored ice crystal. He just looked at it as he did not know what to do with it.

Seeing nothing else was happening, he reached his hands towards the ice crystal, which was the exact same size and looked the same as his crystal body, and grabbed it. Other than feeling he was holding an ice cube, nothing happened. So he moved the ice crystal to the huge amount of mana under him. He placed the ice crystal under the surface of the mana and noticed the dark blue mana around the ice crystal changed into a cyan color.

This cyan-colored mana slowly spread and changed the dark blue mana around it. Alex took out this crystal as he now knows how to change his mana element. But the only problem is how to use the ice mana outside his body. Whenever he manipulates mana, he uses the mana that was already in his body, so he doesn't know how to move the ice mana out of his body. The way he has been using [Wind Cutter], mana would automatically go out of his body, form the spell, and somehow his mana would change elements. He does nothing in that process other than activating the ability itself.

He has an idea of how to use his affinity for ice magic but he has to exit this place. So he thought about leaving this space and boom. He was back in the dark cave and activated [Thermal vision] to at least see his group and goblins. Though he doesn't realize this at first, Artin and Warren are completely blind in this cave. Artin was holding onto Warren while Ethan was holding Warren's hand to guide them through the dark. The only time they could see was when the drone would shoot, even then the flashes of light went by quickly, not enough time to get their bearings.

Completely forgetting that Artin and Warren don't have any way to see in the dark. He looked into his [Inventory], which he hadn't even looked into deeply since he first had it, and tried to look for some kind of object that could produce light.

There were a lot of tabs in his inventory that he quickly scrolled through. Especially since he stole 4 caravans worth of items from the people who tried to capture him. It took a bit of time trying to find something that could light up the cave as some of the items in his [Inventory], he has no clue on what they can do.

Until he found something that made sense to him. A Mana Lantern. He closed his [Inventory], entered Warren's body, and asked Artin "What is a Mana Lantern and how do you use it?".

Artin was spooked as it was very quiet other than loud shots and groans of goblin. She quickly shook herself and said "A Mana Lantern is an item that makes light with the use of mana. And to use it, you just need to inject your mana into the item and it will do the rest."

Hearing that, Alex thanked Artin and pulled out the Mana lantern. He ordered everyone to stop and made Warren carry the Mana Lantern. The Mana Lantern looks like a normal lantern except there was no oil or bulb inside of it. Once Warren was holding it, he made a [Mana Tendril] and touched the Mana Lantern. Once his mana touched the item, his mana was being sucked into the Mana Lantern.

He let his mana be absorbed by the Mana Lantern for a minute before cutting his mana off. But nothing was happening until he saw a small switch on the side, so he just flipped it, and a bright light formed, almost alighting the entire cave. Though Artin and Warren had to cover their eyes as it was too bright and sudden. Alex felt nothing as he doesn't even have 'eyes'.

"Alright everyone, let's keep moving forward. I wanna complete this dungeon and leave this place." Once again they started to move forward, this time with a light source to see.

And soon enough, they were finally at the wooden door again.

Alex entered Warren's body and started to make a plan. "Alright Artin I want you to stay in the back with Warren and Anky protecting you, I also want you to cast some spell to support us if we need it. I'll be inside the drone supporting everyone from above and Ethan will be the main attack force."

"W-Wait. I can't cast any spells. If I try to use my mana, it will cause more damage to my mana core. I had to use my mana last because we were in danger and that almost caused my mana core to break. Unless you have any other cores that I could use, I can't support everyone." Before Ethan was about to open the door to the boss room. Artin quickly told everyone about her damaged core.

Alex stayed silent, thinking about what he heard. "Use my body for spells." Artin of course blushed as Alex said this in Warren's body but remember who was actually talking.

Once Artin was holding onto Alex, and did a few practice spells, which Alex stared at the spell casting and tried to ingrain these practice spells into his brain. He also felt weird whenever Artin would pull mana out of his body. She made some magic circles but it was just confusing to see.

"Oh, you even have a rare ice affinity, although it's very weak. I will probably place this affinity for ice around H rank, which is the second-lowest rank you can get. I can get by with this mana even though it's kinda dirty" Artin examined his mana and detected a very faint trace of ice energy inside his body. She detected another type of mana inside his body but couldn't determine what type it was. So she just ignored it for now. She was also a bit disappointed in this other worlder's mana as all other worlders were reported to have a very strong affinity, all at least above S rank, and having very pure mana.

The difference between the purity of mana can cause big changes. For example, when a caster cast a fireball spell and they have very pure mana. The spell would be more powerful, cost less mana to cast, and the spell would be casted quickly. But if the caster has not so pure mana. It will cost more mana to cast a spell and the caster would take longer trying to form a spell as it's more unstable.

Anyway, back to the story. Alex kept the positions the same and Ethan went back to opening the door. Once Ethan puts some pressure on the door, a notification pops up for everyone except for Ethan and the drone.

(<DING > 3 adventurers. Do you wish to enter the boss room and fight: Y/N (0/3)

Warning: You can not leave until the Dungeon boss is killed or all members fighting are killed.)

Once again this notification did not come from his system, it came from the dungeon.

...

Y/N (1/3)

Y/N (2/3)

Y/N (3/3)

Artin hesitated but clicked 'Y'.

Once she clicked 'Y', the doors opened and a gush of foul-smelling air rushed out the room with torches lighting up the entire boss room. Alex immediately summoned his Anky and started to cast [Wind Cutter].

The boss room was a massive cavern with bones strung everywhere, clothes and armor of previous adventures scattered all over the room with blood and other unknown liquids covering the entire cavern. Soon enough heavy footsteps were heard along with other less heavy footsteps.

"RAHHHHHHHHHH" There was an entire horde of strong-looking goblins rushing at them with 5 big, special-looking goblins watching over them. 4 of the special goblins all had staffs and were wearing clothes that someone like a shaman would wear and were about 6 feet tall. And these 4 goblins were surrounding a goblin which Alex guessed was the boss as he was wearing clothes a chieftain would wear and this motherfucker was about 8 feet tall and holding a very big club and had bone plates all over his body.

"Foolish adventures, This will be the last thing you see before you die." One of the goblin shamans yelled this out and started to cast a spell.

"Keep the girl alive and kill the rest. It's been a while before I had a woman with me." The goblin boss had a smile on their face and just sat down, not even putting the group of adventures in his eyes as the ones before couldn't even hurt him or his shamans.

When he was first made in this dungeon, he was a weak, small, and thin boss made from the dungeon core, and so were the goblins in the dungeon. Other adventurers that somehow found this dungeon were easily able to kill everything in this dungeon, killing the beasts made from the dungeon, beasts he considered to be his family, over and over. He remembers everything when he was first made, he saw his family get tortured by the ones that call themselves adventures, and he wasn't able to do a single thing. No matter how hard he tried, his family would be killed and then he would be killed. But for some reason, he was the only one who would remember these events each time when he was revived by the dungeon.

He had died multiple times from these adventures that came to loot this dungeon. Most people would have destroyed the dungeon core once they reached the end. Yet everyone that came left the core alone, all saying this was a perfect place to farm materials. Yet they would leave this place and never come back. He was thankful for whatever reason that made them forget about this place.

Yet everything changed when a man with glasses, who was also wearing a red suit with some kind of purple tail moving behind him, came into the dungeon. Usually, when something enters the dungeon, we all have an instinct to attack and kill the intruders, yet we all felt nothing like that. Instead, we felt 'kinship' with this man, even though we had never seen him before. We felt like the man was something part of the dungeon even though we knew the man came from the outside world.

My family members just watched him walk through the cave and none of us stopped him. He kept walking until he reached the room that I protected, the room that had two doors. With one door leading to this room, and the other door that I protect, the door that houses my creator. My master. The dungeon core.

The man kept walking until he reached the door I was protecting. I quickly snapped out of my trance and blocked the red man. The red man only smirked and said "Move". With that word coming out of his mouth, I felt a terrifying amount of pressure set on me. Once I felt it, my body didn't respond to me and moved automatically and bowed towards the red man.

The man just smirked harder and opened the door where my master stays. The red man entered and closed the door behind him.

I was terrified of what the man was going to do. I tried to enter the room but any thought about entering made my body freeze. I couldn't even stand being near the door as the pressure was too great.

The red man only stayed in my master room for a little bit. After 2 minutes of the red man being in that room. Soon a voice was heard throughout the entire cave.

"Leave this red man and anyone bearing this symbol alone. He will make us strong. Strong enough that any adventurer that comes here will never leave this place alive." For some reason, I felt my head become more clear and less muddle. I even felt stronger and saw my body start to muscles and become taller. I even noticed small changes in my family members' strength and intelligence.

This growth lasted for an entire week. On the final 7th day, 4 of my brothers suddenly passed out. I of course was worried about them and asked my master what happened but the only thing my master said was "Leave them alone for now. They will wake up tomorrow."

Just as my master said. They awoke the next day. And now, they were able to talk and were able to perform magic.

On that same day, more adventures came into this dungeon, yet they all wore black robes that covered their entire body with the symbol the red man was holding. Each time they came, they brought something new into the room my master stayed in. At first it was stone materials, then magic items and beast cores. After that, they started to bring people that were tightly bound up with rope into my master room, the age of the people didn't even matter to them, I even saw old and very young humans, elves, and demi humans enter. Every time I go near my master door, I would hear chanting going on inside.

One day they brought 10 human girls into my master room, who were all crying and begging to be let go but the robed men just ignored them. But this day was different. My master called me into the room. And when I entered the room, it was dark but with the candles lighting up the room. I saw an altar with a statue of a demonic figure standing over everyone at the end of the room. All around the altar, I saw blood that was either fresh and dried up with bits of flesh surrounding it.

In the center of the room were the 10 human girls, but this time they were all naked.

"Make our army bigger" And with that order coming from my master. I knew what they wanted me to do.

...

...

...

...

...

As I lay in the center of the pit, with the 10 unresponsive human girls encircling me. I lay there tired and happy. But once I thought I had a break, the robed people that were waiting for me to finish started to chant. Two robed people grabbed two of the girls and brought them to the altar.

Both girls tried to struggle and thrash with all their might but both had their arms and legs broken. With the two girls passed out due to the pain, they all started to chant in an unknown language.

Once the chant ended, the cultists that brought the girls to the altar brought out knives and slit the girls neck. Once blood touched the altar, it started to flow up to the demonic statue. The blood flowed up into the statue mouth where I saw my master absorb the blood.

My master, who I remember to be a blue core, was a blood red core this time. Once my master finished absorbing the blood, I felt information stir through my brain and felt my strength rise.

The information I had gotten was an ability called [Blood Berserk]. When I read what the ability does, I really wanted to use it but my master told me to only use it in an emergency. I knew that I would be unstoppable once I activated this ability.

But who would have thought that the skill that should have made me unstoppable, wouldn't even prepare me for the group that was standing in front of me.
