What Changed?

Jayr POV - Blue Star, ??? - 20 GAP

I carefully port Athena's God Bidoof on the simple wooden dock of this tropical seaside village, then I stand up from the comfy captain seat with the still sleeping Python and Galen in my arms and softly mutter to Athena's God Bidoof, "We will land on this island and check where we are... be careful and if something happens just call for me, I will be here in an instant." to which she replies with a soft hum of her Spiral Engine.

After that, I walk toward the deck leaving the Spiral Engine turned on while thinking, 'Better leave it like that, after all, there isn't any worry that the Spiral Engine will overheat, and is totally silent, but more importantly, the Spiral Cosmo I injected will continuously produce energy, so there isn't any worry that she will run out, which is good since my Spiral Cosmo truly nurtures Athena's God Bidoof's budding soul and helps her in gaining strength and power needed to complete her transition.'

Once on the deck, I regroup with the girls and give Galen to Saori then I ask, "Is everyone coming?" but Saori, Eri, and Tio shake their heads as Eri replies, "No, we will stay here with the kids, it is almost time to feed them and after that, they have to be cleaned, so we will land later after you have confirmed that this island is safe." then she mutters in a low tone, "But I will make sure to release Noriko to keep any wench away... he is only ours. (AN: If you guys forgot Noriko is the ghost similar to the one from the ring and the grudge that she "tamed" and upgraded, specialized in jump scares and nasty curses.)"

Then she holds her cheeks and blushingly she says, "Truly sometimes Jayr can be so charming that sometimes I'm tempted to curse to death all the women that land their dirty eyes on him, a curse that will slowly and painfully kill them, their families, their friends, their family friends, their family friends family..."

Realizing that Eri is slipping into her bad habits, I quickly peck her on the lips and start to pat her head as Saori lets out a groan and says, "There she goes again... The last time this happened was when that resident asked Jayr for some tips and started to flirt... She quickly released Noriko after her who haunted and cursed the poor girl and as a result of the curse she had a half-orgasm without release every time she said the word "the" for a full day, the poor girl almost went mad, and we had to fully remove her memory of the event."

Then Seika, who ignores Eri's current state as she got used to it, happily giggles and says, "So it will be the two of us, just like the old times-" but she is quickly interrupted by Nikita's cough as she asks, "Am I made of air? I will also land with you guys." making Seika shyly look at her and meekly reply, "Sorry, I did forget about you..."

Nikita then lets out a sigh and says, "Don't worry, I won't intrude on your date, I will search around for some information on my own."

Then we all change into more fitting clothes, I put on a colorful blue Hawaiian shirt that I leave open to show off my physique, and short white pants with wooden sandals.

Seika dresses in a pure white sundress with a small straw hat and comfortable slides, while Nikita is dressed in black shorts and a light dark grey sleeveless shirt with black boots, she's got a quite gothic taste in clothes.

And so, after we changed our clothes, I left Python in Eri's care and our group of three got down the Athena's God Bidoof and stepped on the simple wooden dock, and just at the end of it, there was someone already waiting for us.

Looking at the person waiting for us at the end of the dock, I can't help but be surprised, he is an average-sized, dark-haired man with a thick mustache, his face shows a stern expression, and is wearing a brown, short-sleeved policeman-esque uniform with sandals, and more important he wears an iconic pinwheel in this uniform's cap.

He couldn't be more recognizable, he is Genzo, the sheriff and mayor figure of this village, Nami's father-like figure, which also means that our current location is the Cocoyasi Village, the village on Conomi Islands where Nami, as well as her sister, Nojiko, grew up with Bell-mère, meaning that we are currently on the East Blue, the current home of Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, Nami, Usopp, and Going Merry the original 6 members of the Straw Hat Pirates.

And yes, I consider Going Merry a full-blown character, her death was the event that caused me to cry in front of an anime for the first time in my life, so she deserves that, moreover, she is also the main reason behind my care for Athena's God Bidoof.

As I realize that, I already start to plan my next actions, 'Well, since we are in the East Blue, the first thing I have to do after leaving this place is to reach the Gecko Islands and go to the Syrup Village and reinforce Going Merry so much that not even a nuke can damage her... but first, I have to know what has changed from what I know from the manga and anime, as it seems that a lot of things are different from expected.'

The reason for thinking that are quite simple, first of all, through my senses, I can clearly perceive that the Cocoyasi Village is peaceful, way too peaceful, I don't feel any sense of dread or worry, at least not the one I should feel from a village oppressed by a racist Fish-man douchebag named Arlong, the most I can feel is some anxiety, tension and worry about the newcomers, that means us, something quite normal as in this world, you'll never know when a pirate is going to appear on your island's shores.

More importantly, now that I know where I am, I also notice that the Arlong Park that should be erected nearby doesn't exist, and I also can clearly see that Genzo in front of us doesn't have his iconic scars all over his body, which could imply that he didn't have his confrontation with Arlong, or that Arlong never even came to this village, something that only the Champion's actions could change.

And this makes me think, 'For now, it seems like the Champion is a well-intentioned one, so maybe I can simply relax in this world with my family and just deal with the scummy powerhouses the Champion let slip past or wasn't strong enough to deal with.'

While thinking that, we all finally reach Genzo who as soon as he can look at us clearly, seems to relax a little, but still says in a wary tone, "Welcome to Cocoyasi Village, my name is Genzo, and I am the Sheriff of this little village. Now, who are you and what are your reasons for coming here?"

Hearing his question, I step forward and introduce myself and everyone else, "Good morning Mr. Genzo, my name is Pucci Jayr, these lovely ladies are, my girlfriend Seika, and my good friend Nikita, and on the ship there is the rest of our family. We are simply traveling around enjoying the sights that this world has to offer, well, to tell you the truth we just started our voyage and the Conomi Islands are just our first stop."

Genzo narrows his eyes and looks at us while letting out an, "Hmm." at the same time, I see him looking behind us, more specifically at the Athena's God Bidoof, before commenting, "That's quite the unusual ship for a simple family outing, especially since with those damned pirate-infested waters, the only ones that truly dare to travel are Mariners, Bounty Hunters, Mercenaries, Pirates themselves, and those who can guarantee some kind of protection from the water's dangers, like merchants, and other powerful people."

Hearing the clear suspicion in his tone, I simply smile and in a proud tone I say, "Well, you are right, but a man has to protect his family, and she is the best ship I could build to do so."

This time Genzo lightly smiles too and says, "Damn right! Anyway, once again welcome, and sorry for that but we heard the news that there were sightings of "Iron Mace" Alvida nearby, she is a quite famous and cruel pirate with a Bounty of 5,000,000 Beli, so everyone is quite nervous about it."

I shake my head and reply, "Do not worry, I understand that with all these pirates around the situation can be quite tense at times."

After that, Genzo leads us into the village where I finally have the chance to exchange some materialized gold for some Beli, and then I give a part of it to Nikita so that she can go and do whatever she wants.

Meanwhile, before going on a date with Seika I quickly buy and make a subscription to the World Economy News Paper, also called the WENP for short, the newspaper that is distributed globally via News Coo, I also ask if they have older editions using the excuse that we traveled a lot and didn't receive any news for quite a long time, unfortunately, the vendor didn't have any.

But even so, I can still see a familiar face in today's edition, more specifically a Bounty Poster of a young man, he is a tall muscular young man with curly black hair, sporting rather childish freckles on his face.

Indeed is Ace's bounty, and seeing that, I can't help but notice that on his back the Whitebeard Tattoo is missing, meaning that he still didn't join him and become his son.

The newspaper also had an article about Ace setting the slums of Sabaody Archipelago ablaze, and that the Marines tried to stop him but Ace was able to defeat Vice Admiral Draw and escape, at least this is the official version of the event, knowing how the World Government usually works, and how some Marines are, I won't be surprised if the Vice Admiral is the one who set everything ablaze trying to catch or kill Ace.

But ignoring that last tidbit of news, there isn't anything else in the newspaper that can let me know what else has changed from the "canon" events, one sure thing is that Arlong didn't attack this village, and by asking around, I learned, that while there have been some attacks from time to time from other pirates, they have all been repelled thanks to the effort of the always late Marines of the 16th Branch under the command of Captain Nezumi, and of the much more competent 77th Branch under the command of Commodore Pudding Pudding, and of course, mostly thanks to Bell-mère, Genzo and a group of Bounty Hunters that the village hires from time to time to defend and buy enough time against the occasional pirate attack.

So as I and Seika aimlessly walk around enjoying the sights of this peaceful, fairly tropical place located on the seaside, full of palm trees, tangerine groves, and rice fields, I start to reflect on what I learned, 'So basically, everything is going well for the Cocoyasi Village, Bell-mère is still alive and she is happily living with her two adopted daughters, Nami and Nojiko, of which the former is still a naughty troublemaker who still dreams of making a map of the world and is studying and training hard for it while also leaving the island to steal from pirates and give a part to her family while keeping the rest, while the latter is more mature and calm and tries to keep her sister safe, and it also seems that she is quite popular as all the young men of the island try to pursuit her only to end in failure...'

At this point, with a frown on my face I continue to think about the situation, 'I have to admit that everything seems to be going well, maybe a little too well, and of course, now Nami's position as Luffy's Navigator is now unsure since her history changed so much... but it is also possible that with Luffy's protagonist luck and plot armor, she would still be able to join his crew in one way or another.'

Realizing that I decided to not think about it too much and focus on my date with Seika, which was then spent simply walking around the village trying out some local foods, chatting, flirting, and joking around.

Everything is going well and we are peacefully enjoying our time together, at least until we hear the sound of a cannon firing in the distance, and letting out a defeated sigh, I comment, "As expected from this world..." while Seika giggles and says, "Let's go back and check on the situation."

I nod and picking up Seika in a princess carry, I rush back toward the dock and see that Genzo is already there, nervously looking at something in the distance, and he is not alone, right beside him there are two women who also seem tense.

One is a relatively slim woman in her mid-30s, around 1,86 meters tall with long fuchsia hair tied in a ponytail, grey eyes, and a rather unique hairstyle similar to a mohawk known as a Chelsea hawk, she is wearing a green checkered shirt with the word "MACE" on it, indigo trousers and brown sandals, she also has an unlit cigarette in her mouth and is currently armed with a flintlock rifle, she is of course, Bell-mère a former Marine and the adoptive mother of Nami and Nojiko.

While the other is a shorter young woman around my age with light blue hair and eyes, and tanned skin, her right arm and chest are heavily tattooed something that can be easily noticed as she is wearing a beige sleeveless shirt, blue trousers, and purple sandals, furthermore, she appears to wear pink lip gloss, she is naturally Nojiko, Nami's sister.

And right behind those three, there are many other people all armed with some improvised weapons, like farming tools, or sticks and the always almighty broom.

All of them have their gaze fixed on the sea and are mostly mixed in worry and fear, and following their gaze, I see a smaller boat chased by what is clearly a pirate ship seeing the Jolly Roger on the black flag.

But more important, is the boat that is being chased, because on it, I can clearly see a familiar young woman clearly in panic as she tries to steer the boat to flee from the pirate ship.

She is a slim young woman of average height with orange hair and brown eyes, she is wearing an orange miniskirt with two white rings on each side filled in with orange or brown in their centers, a blue and white striped shirt with short sleeves, and brown boots, she can only be Nami, who is clearly returning from a somewhat successful theft, seeing the big loot bag beside her, but also somewhat unsuccessful as her "victims" clearly noticed the theft and chased her all the way here.

Without making too much noise, I stop right next to Genzo and ask, "Is there some problem?" surprising him and everyone else as they didn't notice me until I spoke, then Genzo quickly recovers and explains, "Yes, it seems that little thug of Nami got herself in quite the trouble this time, she is just like her mother."

At this point, Bell-mère beside him, quickly moves and without hesitation, hits him with a punch in totally Garp style and yells, "Hey! I'm not like that anymore! I'm a respectful, mature and charming mother." while Nojiko complains and says, "Mom, stop it! We have to focus on finding a way to help Nami out of this situation!"

Bell-mère looks at her daughter and says, "I already told you! Just give me a boat and I'll go there and deal with those pirates myself, after all, I'm a former Marine." but Genzo quickly stops her and says, "No! It's too reckless and dangerous."

Making Bell-mère click her tongue and comment, "Tch. Those are low-life mob, they are so weak that they don't even have an actual bounty, just how dangerous they can be? I'll go, Nami can't last for much longer, they are gaining on her boat." but this starts another argument between them and the people of the village that don't want Bell-mère to endanger herself alone.

But just before this could escalate anymore, I interrupted them and said, "I can easily help her and deal with those pirates."

My voice quickly stops the argument as everyone looks at me, and Genzo who remembers something exclaims, "Yes! With that unusual ship you can easil-" but I stop him and comment, "Nope. There is no need to use Athena's God Bidoof against them, that is way too overkill..."

I let my words linger for a moment as I look around the ground and find what I was searching for, then without hesitation, I move toward it and pick up a sizable rock and say, "... Against people like those pirates over there this is enough."

Before they could ask what I meant, I input a little of Spiral Cosmo into the rock to reinforce it, then I take aim and lightly throw it and watch as the rock flies toward the pirate ship with such speed that generates many sonic booms while also lightly parting the sea in its passage.

Then before anyone could react, the rock hit the left side of the ship right in the middle, piercing through the ship and splitting it in half, quickly after that, the two halves of the ship started to sink, causing all the pirates to fall in the waters at the mercy of an angry nearby Sea King that I may or may not woke up with my light throw.

Meanwhile, everyone else is looking at the scene with their eyes and mouth wide open in shock, in fact, it almost look like their eyeballs are about to comically pop out, in an almost perfect replica of Enel's shocked face, something that makes both me and Seika giggle.

The sound of our snickers, snaps Genzo, Bell-mère, Nojiko, and the others from their stunned state, making Genzo question me once more, "Who are you really?"

With a smirk I simply reply, "Already told you, my name is Jayr and I'm simply exploring this world with my family, but of course to do so safely a certain level of personal power is needed..." making Bell-mère snort and say, "Yeah, with that kind of power you can for sure move around the Grand Line undeterred."

While we are talking, Nami approaches the dock with her small boat and Nojiko quickly rushes over to help and scolds her at the same time, "Nami! How could you be so reckless!? You have to stop stealing from pirates it's way too dangerous!!" but Nami calmly replies, "It isn't reckless, it's a calculated risk. Besides, both us and the village need this money, the village needs it to hire that group of Bounty Hunters to help with the defense, and we need it to help Bell-mère with the farm and for our future in case something happens."

Seeing the two women bickering, Bell-mère sighs and comments, "Aah... Those two truly love and care for each other, but for the love of god they can't agree on anything else..."

Genzo nods as he agrees but then he compliments her, "Still you did a good job in raising those two, they've grown into wonderful women... even if they are every bit as troublesome as their mother- Ouch!" earning himself another elbow to the side right between his ribs with such force that it would have broken the bones of someone living on Earth.

Then I hear Nami loudly ask, "Anyway, do you know what happened back there? The only thing I know is that I heard some kind of explosions and before I knew what happened, the pirate ship that was chasing me was split into two parts and sinking as a Sea King started to attack the men that fell into the waters."

And while Nojiko explains to Nami what happened, Genzo recovers from Bell-mère's killer elbow and gratefully says, "Jayr, thank you for helping Nami out there... even if she is a little, troublesome, mischievous, thieving cat she is part of the Cocoyasi Village and she is a good girl that only has our best interest in her mind." and while saying that he bows to show how grateful he is.

I simply shake my head and reply, "Rise. You don't have to bow and thank me so much. It was a simple matter for me, I just threw a rock."

Hearing my answer Genzo raises his head and says "Okay, but thanks again for helping Nami." then Bell-mère adds, "Anyway, you and your family are invited to tonight's dinner at my place, we will celebrate Nami's safe return, and you can't refuse."

And saying that Bell-mère kindly invited us while pointing her flintlock rifle at my little brother with a "kind" smile on her face while Genzo beside her let out a sigh while covering his face with his palm.

This leaves me with no choice but to accept her invite while Seika, who is standing beside me, happily giggles amused by her antics, of course, to not cause some problems I also tell Bell-mère the number of people she should expect, after all, it is quite rude to surprise your host with an unexpected number of guest.

Then I and Seika find Nikita and tell her about this evening's dinner and together we all return to the Athena's God Bidoof to prepare, and on our way back Nikita tells us that she didn't find any news about her friend Zandeer, as the people of this island know no one with his characteristics.

Jayr POV - Blue Star, East Blue, Cocoyasi Village - 20 GAP

It is the agreed time and we all are calmly walking through the fruit grove which is located in Bell-mère's yard, and seeing the fruit growing on it, the Italian in me can't help but think, 'In the anime they called those fruits oranges but those are clearly mandarins the smaller and sweeter version...'

Soon we arrive in front of Bell-mère's house and are welcomed by Nojiko and Nami, and the two are quickly surprised and charmed by Kharna and Galen's presence, and once inside even Bell-mère herself is surprised as she exclaims, "Wait! You already have kids!? Aren't you too young for that!?"

Of course, she isn't surprised by my multiple partners as polygamy is something quite common in this world, and it isn't something exclusive to the Celestial Dragon and other nobles, but even civilians, wealthy merchants, and pirates practice it, the most famous of them all is, of course, Charlotte Linlin aka "Big Mom", who was quite a hot milf in her youth but way too many pregnancies and an awful diet turned her into that fugly monster.

Anyway, I smile and say, "A little but they are the best thing that happened in my life..."

Then after that, I introduced everyone, and we all started to happily talk, with a curious Nami asking what place we had seen in our journey, but Nikita quickly explained that we just started our voyage and that Conomi Islands was our first stop disappointing her, while Nojiko talks with Eri and Seika about clothes and other things that I quickly zone out, and Bell-mère talks with Saori and Tio about her expereinces and difficulties in raising Nami and Nojiko while she continues to cook and I help her in silence.

Then after some time, Genzo joins us surprising me, and as Bell-mère notices the surprised expression on my face, she laughs and explains, "He is my husband... he helped me and the girl so much that the only thing I could do was pay him back my body! Hahahaha!" making Genzo awkwardly cough as he complains, "I told you to watch the way you speak! Don't you remember the trouble that Nami caused when she repeated those words when she was younger!?"

After that, we all laugh out loud and then we enjoy an amusing and chaotic dinner with Nami's family.
