Eh? Wait! What!?

Jayr POV - Earth, Teppelin - 1007 AFA-SW

I'm watching the clash between Lazegann's Giga Drill and Lagann's Drill as their clash generates sparks akin to lightning that wrecks the surroundings.

The clash between Lazengann and Lagann's drills continues, and it is clear that Lazengann's enormous Giga Drill is not enough to stop Nia and Simon's fighting spirit from powering the Lagann's drill so much that it breaks through the Lazengann's, making Lagann's drill pierce into Lazengann's chest.

Refusing to give up, Lordgenome yells, "Looks like this Gunmen fails me in the end!"

Then he gets out of his cockpit and starts beating up the Lagann with his own bare fists.

Nia gets thrown out of the Lagann's cockpit in the process, and she can only watch as the Lordgenome throws punch after punch at an already battered Simon who tries in vain to hit him back.

During this, all of a sudden, I sense Kamina flaring his Spiral Power in a peculiar manner, something I told him to do in case he feels that he and the others needed help or were in danger.

Sensing that, I chuckle a little while thinking, 'Now he finally remembers to contact me... I already warned him that Lordgenome was stronger than him by a lot, but he still underestimated him and grew overconfident in his new capabilities. A little humbling is truly needed.'

Meanwhile, Lordgenome holds Laganns's mechanical hands and they start to push each other to fight over dominance, at the same time, I notice that Simon is now too exhausted and is unable to generate enough Spiral Power to produce even a single drill.

And Indeed, I soon hear him mutter, "Tch! I can't get the drill out anymore!" and Lordgenome who notices the same starts to mock him, "What's wrong? Your Spiral's run out, eh?"

At the same time, Nia says, "Simon! If believing in you becomes your strength, I will believe in you with all my heart! So, please win!" but despise her encouragement, Simon still can't seem to win against the "evil" Spiral King and lets the Lagann's arms get broken off.

But right at this moment, Kamina rushes toward Lordgenome yelling, "Take your hands off my Ototo you bald bastard!" and attacks him with his katana, whose blade is enveloped in a bright green glow, forcing Lordgenome to take a step back as he mutters in wonder as he notices the glowing spiral pattern in his eyes, "Ho... To think that you already have such mastery over your awakened Spiral Power is truly amusing!"

Right after that, Kamina starts his assault on Lordgenome with a flurry of slashes, but despite my training with him, his fighting style is still way too immature and crude, and Lordgenome with his experience is easily able to predict his moves and dodge all his attacks.

Not only that, but it is also clear that Lordgenome's speed and power are a lot higher than Kamina's because he is able to use his Spiral Power a lot better than Kamina who is still clearly a novice at it.

And as expected, after a few more exchanges, Kamina is easily sent crashing into the downed Gurren by one of Lordgenome's kicks.

Then Lordgenome once more steps in front of the downed Simon and with a grin, he says, "I haven't had this much fun in a long time, kid. Now, return back to the soil!"

But as the tyrannical Spiral King picks him up to finish him off, Simon grabs his Core Drill from Lagann's dashboard and slams it into the Spiral King's chest making Lordgenome exclaim, "Urg... The Core Drill!?"

Then as Simon's Spiral Power gather on the Core Drill, he declares, "I am Simon. Dai-Gurren Brigade's leader, Simon the Digger! If you become a wall blocking my way... I'll drill a hole in you and blow you apart anytime! That is... my drill!"

With that, Simon is about to turn his drill into Lordgenome's chest and create a large explosion.

But right at that moment, I teleport next to him and putting a hand on his shoulder, I calmly say, "Okay, that's enough." and redirect Simon's erupting Spiral Power and a bit of mine back to Simon, of course, I carefully control it, so that it simply replenish his energies and not harm him.

Then I look at Lordgenome and with a smirk on my face I ask, "So... what do you think about your future son-in-law? He isn't so bad, isn't it?" making him simply chuckle and reply, "Heh... he is still rough around the edges but... not bad... even if still very rough his Spiral Power clearly surpasses mine."

At the same time, I sense that Lordgenome stops his Spiral Power from powering the Gunmen piloted by the Beastmen causing them to stop as it is now nighttime and the Gunmen, which convert the energy produced by the sun into electricity can't produce enough to sustain their activity anymore, rending the Beastmen, unable to produce Spiral Power to power them, helpless against the Dai-Gurrem Brigade that quickly sweeps them over and starts capturing them.

My sudden appearance and question seem to stun and shock Simon, who is unable to momentarily comprehend what is going on, and mutters in confusion, "E-Eh? J-Jayr-san!? W-Wait! What is...? Son-in-law?"

At the same time, Kamina slowly gets up holding his ribs that are clearly broken from Lordgenome's previous kick, and angrily yells, "Jayr, you bastard! Don't tell me that you have been here the whole time!? And tell me why the hell did you save that damn blady!? I clearly remember that you told us that the Spiral King has to be stopped no matter what!"

With a mocking smirk, I look at Kamina and reply, "Yes, I told you that the Spiral King had to be stopped... but I don't remember telling you that YOU guys HAD to stop him, or HOW he should be stopped."

Hearing that, Simon finally seems to catch something and says, "B-But when we asked if you could help us in dealing with the Spiral King you didn't agree!"

I look at Simon and explain, "Well, I neither confirmed or denied, I simply told you guys that I had other things to do, it is you guys that jumped to the conclusions."

Seeing their eyes open wide in shock, I smile and add, "Anyway, in some way you can say that I took care of the Spiral King, he did indeed die after I was done with him... only... in his place, the man he was before, the Spiral Warrior, Lordgenome, came back to life ready to do anything in his power to open a path for a brighter tomorrow."

After saying that, I take a quick look at my surroundings and see the wounded Kamina, Simon, Viral, and Lordgenome, moreover, I also take a quick look at the broken Lazengann, Lagann, Gurren, Enkidudu.

Seeing all that, I quickly turn my Spiral Cosmo into Spiral Power, and with it, I cast a powerful Restoration Magic, generating a huge dome of light that covers the whole area and that manipulates time in such a way that the wounds on their body get healed, while the Gunmen are restored back into their pristine condition, shocking Simon and Nia even more.

At the same time, Lordgenome looks at his body and Lazengann with interest and says, "Oh... Time Manipulation... This is quite the unusual way of using Spiral Power." while Kamina the one most used snorts and comments, "Typical of you to come up with such bullshit powers... What is next? Bringing the dead back to life with a snap of his finger?", while he moves his body to check his own condition.

Then he looks at Lordgenome with a frown on his face and asks, "So... If you already took care of the Spiral King... this means that everything we did was until now was useless all that people who fought with their lives on the line and died! All that for nothing!?"

Hearing what Kamina just said, Simon and Nia, both look at me clearly uncomfortable with this issue, but before I could reply, Crater Gar lands behind me, and from the lion face's cockpit, Guame jumps down and with snorts, he says, "Who told you that this war was useless, kid?"

Seeing him, both Nia and Simon shout in surprise, ""Guame!!"" meanwhile, Kamina quickly realizes what is going on and mutters, "Damn. Jayr pulled off another of his fake death tricks..."

After that, he complains in a low tone, "Can't he do something different for once?"

At the same time, Guame ignores the commotion caused by his sudden appearance, calmly sits on the ground, takes a puff of vapor from his pipe, then exhale the white smoke and continues to explain, "First, in this battle, for the first time in many, many years, the humans joined together under one banner to face the threat of a common, more powerful and more numerous enemy. Something that will be fundamental if we want to face what is about to come."

Without giving them any time to digest his words, Guame continues, "Second, in this battle, you took care and defeated the most belligerent, cruel, and deranged Beastmen that fought under the Spiral King. The ones that enjoyed hunting and killing humans, and even eradicating villages that didn't break any rules only for their own amusement. At the same time, you got to experience how chaotic and cruel the battlefield can become."

At this point, Kamina, Simon, and Nia are all looking at Guame with a focused expressions, following each one of his words, "And most important, we pushed you all to your limits making sure that you all grew stronger under the pressure of the Spiral King and his army."

Hearing that, Nia frowns and asks, "Even if that is true, but... what about all the lives lost in this battle?"

Lordgenome looks at his daughter and replies, "I'm pretty sure that the only ones that died are those that Jayr didn't want to save..."

At this point, the gaze of everyone focuses on me, and with a sigh, I explain, "Yeah, most of the humans are still alive, some in grave condition, some barely, but they are all still alive... but the same can't be said about most of the Beastmen in the battlefield... I didn't judge them worth of saving or redemption."

Nia then stares at me and asks, "And how could you know that? What right you have to judge them like that? You aren't a God-" but at this moment, Guame interrupts her and says, "Actually... he is... kinda? I still don't understand that very well..."

Surprised by that, Kamina exclaims, "Eh? Really!? Since when?" and Simon looks at Kamina beside him and asks, "You believe them, Aniki?" and even Nia looks at him with a curious expression.

Kamina looks at them with a smile and explains, "Well, yeah... I've spent a lot of time with Jayr while I was "dead" and he isn't the kind of guy that outright lies, besides, if I remember well, the world he comes from is full of Gods. Becoming one doesn't seem so impossible to me."

Then I reply to their question, "First, yes... I became a God not the omnipotent type with the capital "G", but a God nonetheless, that gave me a few useful perks, the most important regarding the current situation is about the domains I rule, you see, in another world, I'm kinda worshipped as the God of Healing and Justice... this grants me a few useful perks, for the Healing Domain, I can heal those that believe in me from anywhere even across multiple universes, I can appear in their dream and heal, bless or guide them, for the Justice Domain, I can simply identify those that have done what I consider a crime, and know if they truly regretted their action and what to pay for their crimes, and those that are evil to the core, basically beyond saving and redemption. Well, in simple words I can see the true nature of the people, if they are good, neutral, or evil."

After that, I explain, "And just to let you all know, there are a very few things that I truly consider a crime are, genocide, slavery, sexual abuse, the harming of innocent, and children, and discrimination against other races... and once again, I don't habitually kill those that commit those kinds of crimes, it depends on the individual in question, because for some, death is a release, a gift if you will, not a punishment."

While saying that, I throw a glance a Lordgenome's way, who stiffens a little under my gaze while thinking, 'The only reason he is still alive despite all the crimes he committed, is because he never enjoyed doing them, in fact, he did them under duress and it killed a part of him little by little until the only thing that was left, was the callous and cruel Spiral King. But now that he is once again Lordgenome, he truly wishes to atone for all the things he did and build a better future for everyone at the cost of his life from the bottom of his heart.'

Meanwhile, Nia falls silent for a few seconds, then she lets out a sigh and then says, "Haa. Okay, I... maybe I can accept that..."

Then she looks at Lordgenome and says, "...But I still don't understand why Father created such a cruel world."

And with that, Lordgenome let out a sigh, then he starts explaining his part of the story, about the first Anti-Spiral War, his meeting with the entity known as Antispiral, learning the truth about the Spiral Power and the very real possibility of the event known as Spiral Nemesis happening to cause the destruction of the whole universe, how he decided to surrender, betray his allies, and subjugate humanity, oppressing them and forcing them underground, so as to lower the chance of them awakening their Spiral Power all to ensure their survival, and how despite all that, he left behind a little bit of hope for humanity in the form of the mini-type Gunmen burying underground a few of them that survived his rampage at random points, and how his hope died little by little the more time passed.

During Lordgenome's story, nobody talked, everyone stood in silence, listening to him as he narrated the events from his point of view, the only reaction was a few gasps of surprise from Simon and Nia here and there.

Then Lordgenome started to talk about his meeting with me, how I showed him a possible future, reigniting a small ember of hope in his old and weary heart, how that ember turned into a strong flame once I showed him a possible solution to the Spiral Nemesis, and how that flame exploded into a blazing inferno once I showed him that stopping the Spiral Nemesis was really possible.

After that, he talked about the most recent events, and how we spent the rest of the time preparing and building the foundation for a better tomorrow.

At the end of his story, Lordgenome looks a Nia with a regretful gaze and says, "Nia. I don't believe I have the right to act as your father after all the things I have done but trust me when I say that I'm proud of you and that I'll do everything in my power to make sure that your future will be a bright and happy one."

Hearing that, tears form in the corner of Nia's eyes then she runs toward Lordgenome and hugs him then she says, "No, father. You don't have to shoulder everything yourself. We will build a better tomorrow together!"

At the same time, Kamina yells, "Damn right! The Dai-Gurren Brigade won't back down from this challenge! We'll kick Antispiral's ass! Right, Simon?" Simon nods and says, "Yes, Aniki! I'll drill through anything in our path and open a way for everyone to be happy." followed by Viral who with a snort says, "Hmpf... You better don't forget about me. I'll make sure that not only the human but also the Beastmen will have a better future."

As they all ignite their resolve and fighting spirit, the sun starts to shine its light on the land once more as the dawn of a new day and hopefully, a new and better era greets the people living on this planet.

Soon after that, we leave the Dekabutsu and move toward the battlefield, where the Dai-Gurren Brigade just finished dealing with the aftermath of the Battle of Teppelin, or at least the most pressing issue like rescuing the wounded and making sure that the prisoners are safe and secure, unable to bring any more harm before they decide what to do with them, and are now waiting for Simon, Kamina, and Nia to triumphantly return.

But to say that the Dai-Gurren Brigade members, were shocked to find the Gurren Lagann return with another two unknown but similar Gunmen behind him is an understatement, even more, when they see Lordgenome, Guame, and Viral calmly standing with them.

And once they were told the full story behind the rise and fall of the Spiral King, and the real threat behind all this, they are all left speechless, shocked silly by the continuous bombs thrown one after the other despise being somewhat already prepared for them, as I did give them a foreshadowing of such problems, and even so, it took them a while to recover from their shock.

After that, I, Lordgenome, Guame, and the most important members of the Dai-Gurren Brigade, all gather together in the Dai-Gurren's canteen to discuss what to do next.

I start with, "Well, first of all, I and Lordgenome already started to make a rough plan on how to deal with the Anti-Spiral, but the more heads think about possible solutions the better... So, let me first tell you a quick list of what are our most pressing matters. There are currently two big threats that loom over our heads... one of them literally as the current moon is, in fact, a huge Gunmen able to easily destroy this planet..."

At this point, Kittan exclaims out loud, "Wait! Wait! Wait! Are you shitting me!? You're telling me that glowing thing up in the sky, THE moon, is, in fact, a freaking huge Gunmen!!?"

I glance at the shocked Kittan and dryly reply, "That's right." while Lordgenome adds, "To be more precise, that's Cathedral Terra, it was my flagship against the Anti-Spirals in the past until I turned to the will of the enemy and was made King of Earth. It then assumed the form of the moon, acting as a sentry to report any Spiral activity on Earth and it will activate the Anti Spiral Factor once the number of humans living on the surface reaches one million."

While everyone is still in shock about this revelation, I continue, "At that takes us to the second problem..." Leeron is the quickest to catch what I'm about to say and asks, "The other problem is this Anti-Spiral Factor that Lordgenome spoke of, isn't it?"

With a grave expression, I nod and explain, "Yes, the Anti-Spiral Factor. You can think of it like some kind of program hidden in the genes of an individual, that, once activated, turns that person into a virtual being, an Anti-Spiral Messenger, which will then start the invasion of the Anti-Spiral forces and the eradication of all life on this planet as it will also function as a beacon for the Anti-Spiral forces which will quickly teleport here."

After I said that, a tense silence fall into the canteen, broken only by the sound of Leeron quickly tapping on his pad, as he mutters, "This could be bad... This means that everyone among us could carry this Anti-Spiral Factor, turning into an enemy spy while giving the Anti-Spiral all kinds of information about us..."

But just as the less smart people present finally understand the gravity of the situation and start to clamor, Lordgenome reassures them, "You don't need to worry about that. The Anti-Spiral Factor isn't as random as it appears to be... first you have to know that it was first implanted into the population about thousands of years ago and was carried by a virus that infected only a certain group of people, those with a strong aptitude for Spiral Power."

Then he takes a deep breath and adds, "Moreover, we already know someone who for sure currently carries the Anti-Spiral Factor..." and as he says this, his gaze lingers on Nia.

At this point, everyone's gaze moves to a now uneasy Nia as they all realize the meaning behind Lordgenome's words and actions and start to clamor while Simon looks at her in shock, at the same time, Kittan and Kamina exclaim, ""Damn it!!""

Then Yoko looks at me and asks with a tone full of hope, "Jayr! Can you do something about this?" and hearing her question, silence falls once more and everyone's gaze moves from Nia to me.

Feeling their hopeful stares, I don't play any game with them and reply, "Of course, and it is quite easy too. In fact, I'm pretty sure I can remove the Anti-Spiral Factor and the virus carrying it from the whole planet."

Hearing that, Yoko lets out a sigh of relief, while a worried Simon asks, "W-what are you waiting for then?"

Guame hears Simon's question and loudly snorts then he yells, "Are you stupid? If Jayr did that before we are ready for the very possible retaliation of the Anti-Spirals, it could cause a massive amount of casualties among all the people living on this planet! What if as soon as Jayr starts eradicating the virus Cathedral Terra activates and destroys the Earth!? All our efforts and sacrifices would have been for nothing!!"

Guame's words stuns Simon and the more rowdy bunch of the Dai-Gurren Brigade into silence, at the same time, Rossiu agrees, "That's right! We can't be careless, especially since a cure is possible! We have to be ready to face their retaliation."

Leeron, who continues to make some kind of calculation using his pad, then suggests, "The most reliable action would be to take control of Cathedral Terra and purge Nia of the Anti-Spiral factor at exactly the same time, this way we can prevent the worst outcome possible to happen."

Lordgenome nods and says, "That was also our plan. Jayr would remain on Earth to take care of Nia, the Anti-Spiral Factor, and the virus carrying it, while I would use the Dekabutsu to gain control of Cathedral Terra... but we two alone can't safely accomplish this because as soon as I start to take over Cathedral Terra, in retaliation it will release all the forces residing within it and send them to earth to lay waste of everything in their path."

Hearing that, Rossiu who notices something asks, "How can you be so sure of that? You are talking like you are certain of that outcome." causing everyone to look at the duo.

At this point, I insert myself in the conversation and say, "That's because we saw it..." then my Core Drill shines and the Crateris Cloth in its Constellation Form appears beside me as I continue to explain, "You see, if you pour some water in here and look at it, the water will reflect a random instance of a possible future connected to you... and we were lucky enough to see what will happen if we tried to do that alone. While this isn't the most reliable method as the future is constantly changing, it is enough to give us a hint of what to expect."

And to prove that, I create some water with some basic Water Magic and pour it into the Crateris Cloth allowing them to take a peek at some of their possible futures, more likely ones like Dayakka's marriage with Kiyoh, or funny ones like Kittan getting rejected by a girl with a knee in the nuts or even epic ones like an older Gimmy and Darry fighting some Godzilla-like monster in their Grapeals, but before they could get lost in their possible futures, I quickly return the Crateris Cloth back into the Core Drill and resume our discussion that ends with the formation of the Tengen Toppa Dai-Gurren Brigade, the united force of Human and Beastmen.

After we are done with that, I return to my Soulbound Territory and prepare for my last battle in this universe, and most probably my hardest one yet.
