Dragon’s Skull

They walked through the mist that surrounded the central well until they finally reached its edge, allowing them to clearly see its form. The well was quite large and circular, with no vegetation growing around it—not a single plant in sight.

Peering down into the well, they observed a strange phenomenon. The water inside the well was divided into two distinct layers. The upper layer was clear water, seemingly normal except for the faint orange glow it emitted and the continuous bubbling as if it were boiling. The glow and heat of the water were caused by the lower layer, which wasn't water at all but molten lava. The lava simmered beneath the surface, like the molten core of a volcano, capable of melting even the strongest steel.

“What kind of well is this? It's so strange,” Farcia exclaimed in surprise. She had never seen a well with such a peculiar balance before.
