Chapter three

For several days, Lily would either get humiliated by Hera or Ethan in the castle.

Hera has parked all her belongings in the house and decided to start living permanently in the palace as the crown prince's future Luna.

Each morning, whenever Lily delivers the clothes, she will either meet them making out with each other or sleep naked on the bed.

There was a time when a guard almost harassed Lily in the palace. Thanks to her fighting skills, she was able to overpower the guards after kicking him in his balls.

Today, Lily has planned to gain the attention of the king tonight.

Call it foolishness; she was so desperate and didn't even care about the repercussions.

The black dress she wore hugged her hourglass shape perfectly. Her milky breast almost spilled out of the tight dress, but Lily made sure it fit.

She took a deep breath before walking into the hall. Her fiery red hair cascaded down her back, bouncing as she took each step.

Almost everyone turned their heads to look at the stunning lady in black who just entered the hall.

Even when they knew it was Lily, they couldn't stop staring.

Of course, Lily has always been known for her exceptional beauty and rare red hair.

She was the epitome of beauty.

A sight to behold for the onlookers.

"You can all stare all you want but I only want two men to notice me," Lily said in her head as she walked forward.

She sat on one of the fancy chairs and tables. Not long after, the huge, giant door burst open.

All heads turned towards the entrance, waiting for the king to enter. It was just a normal celebration thrown in the castle once every three months to celebrate the people of the Red Stone Pack.

Lily took a glance at the wine on the table and took a sip. Her lips were set into thin lines the moment she saw Alpha Alexander walk in with Ethan right behind him.

The Alpha's presence exuded so much confidence and a majestic aura.

Lily could feel the part of her body exposed, dotted with goosebumps. She gulped down the saliva at the back of her throat when she saw Hera Walking majestically beside Ethan, her head standing tall

This vile sister of hers went as far as manipulating everyone around her and also making her mate reject her.

"You got this, just tonight," Lily assured herself.

The king and his son sat at the high table. Some of the men performed the wolf dance, and the girls did some beautiful dances on the stage.

Everyone stood up from their seats to exchange pleasantries and also meet some potential suitors.

Lily summoned up courage and walked to where the Alpha was. Lily faked losing her footing when she got to where Alpha Alexander was standing.

The glass she was holding fell from her hand and instead of colliding with the wall, Lily fell on the chest of the alpha.

"I'm so sorry. I wasn't watching where I was going." Lily apologized with so much sincerity that it could fool everyone but not Alexander.

He didn't hear any skip in her heartbeat, which only showed that she was expecting the fall.

"Women!" Alex tsk.

He clicked his tongue and watched Lily, whose eyes widened in shock.

"Your shirt!" Lily shrieked, acting surprised and all attention was focused on them.

Lily smiled inwardly when she saw Hera and Ethan looking her way.

"Finally," Lily muttered, stepping closer to the king.

One of the maids quickly rushed to where the king was to wipe the liquid off his shirt, but Lily caught the maid's wrist and took the white towel.

"I'm so sorry, Alpha. I caused this because I was clumsy. Let me rectify my mistake," Lily said and a smile graced Alexander's lip.

He couldn't help but smile when he saw Lily acting like she cared. Of course, he could see through her that she had other ulterior motives but what could it be?

"It's fine, young lady, the maid will make things right." Alpha Alexander said but Lily has other plans.

She pushed her chest forward, making it appear bigger for the alpha king to see yet his expression remained neutral.

"I need to do this myself to feel better. Please come with me," Lily said apologetically.

The guards wanted to interfere, but with a gentle wave of Alexander's hands, they backed off.

Lily followed Alexander out of the hall and the ceremony began again.

However, Ethan didn't stop staring at the huge entrance, watching the retreating figures of Lily and his father. It was Hera's voice that broke through his daze.

"Did you say something?" Ethan asked, and Reece felt jealousy spark inside her.

Lily followed Alexander inside his chambers but her fragile heart didn't stop beating loudly inside her chest.

She was nervous but she didn't let it show. The door to his room burst open, revealing the beautiful interior of the king's room.

"I will get your shirt off now and—" Words ceased in her throat, and whatever she was going to say vanished in her head like a vapor.

The Alpha King was suddenly staring at her with so much intensity that she felt her knees weaken. By his gaze alone, she was squirming like a teenager.

Of course, no woman could resist his beauty and charm. Maybe there are a few women who could resist him because they have a powerful mate.

"Are you sure you want to undress me?" He suddenly asked, staring bluntly at her.

His eyes under the luminous bulb appeared dark. He was sculpted to perfection, and Lily could feel jealousy spark of jealousy inside her.

"How could a man be so handsome?" Lily thought.

When she remembered he just asked her a question, Lily parted her pink lips to answer.

"I caused this and wanted to make up for my actions," Lily said with bravery, but inside she was shaking.

Alexander chuckled when he heard her reply. A dry chuckle revealed his perfect white dentition.

"Do you want me that much?" Alexander suddenly asked, surprising Lily.

"Did it come off that way? Did I make it look as if I wanted him?" Lily asked herself.

Undoubtedly, she was glad he finally noticed her.

Alpha Alexander finally opened up to her but could she act stubborn?

"It's not what you think, I just wanted to help and—"

"I know my son rejected you and you must be breaking because of the pain," Alexander said, hitting the nail on the head.

"I can take it from here, you should take care of yourself," Alexander said. His voice sounded cold and distant.

Lily didn't utter any more words as she walked out of the room, and she didn't go back to the hall either.

Instead, Lily took a cab home. She was still inside the car when she felt her body heating up.

She was so hot that she bolted out of the car like a scurry the moment the car stopped.

"What could be happening?" Lily questioned herself as she undressed. Now left in her underwear, she immersed her body inside the tub.

Still, she was hot and the water felt warm too because of her temperature.

"Could this be mate heat?" Lily asked, leaving the bathtub. She wrapped the towel around her body and walked into her room.

The heat disappeared from her body as if she wasn't feeling hot now. She figured out it was not the mating heat but the drink she took.

However, beside the bed stood a silhouette whose reflection created a shadow against the wall.

"Who are you?" Lily asked as fear crept inside of her.
