Chapter 20

After a few hours of the whole ordeal the police showed up and were waiting for the Champions to hand over the culprits. After they handed Archie the police were shocked to see such a poor state that Archie was in all bruised up barely conscious and missing parts of his fingers and face but the police thought better than to question the Champions and left

" Just what was that kid thinking " raged Lance

" Relax Lance " said Steven who clearly looked exhausted

"..." Cynthia remained quite processing what had happened over the past hours

" Say where is Ash " came the voice of Scott

" Don't know after the incident he just walked away" replied Lance

"When I meet him again I'll give him my piece of advice " replied Lance angrily as he stormed off

" What happened to him ?" asked Scott

" Some things are better left unsaid" replied Steven as he too walked away.

" Cynthia ?" questioned Scott who was a bit wary of how Cynthia was looking at him

" You knew the warden was Ash right " asked Cynthia in a matter of fact manner

" Well I did " replied Scott

" THAN WHY DIDNT YOU TELL ME HE WAS ALIVE YOU KNOW HOW MUCH IVE BEEN SEARCHING FOR HIM... HOW LONG I THOUGHT HE WAS DEAD " cried Cynthia.

" And what would you have done Cynthia?" asked Scott

" I didn't even tell Anabel about Ash a girl who literally tried moving the earth and stones to prove his innocence a girl who watched him suffer helplessly a girl who is in love with him " replied Scott

" But I love him too " cried Cynthia

" Cynthia I'll be honest you Ash's mother his friends and even me did wrong by not siding with him and the result of our mistakes is the person you just saw and there's no changing it and when I was contacted by Ash I didn't want to make the mistake of breaking the trust he has bestowed upon me by telling the world of his existence" replied Scott with a bitter sad tone

" ..." Cynthia remained quite taking in all that Scott had told her

" I bought him to you in an effort to mend old wounds between the two of you " replied Scott as he too walked away

" I Need to find him and make things clear " thought Cynthia as she picked herself up and ran searching for him

Meanwhile the car that was carrying Archie was interrupted at the middle of the forest and the cars were destroyed as goons started piping out from the side of the road and freed Archie and his goons and ran away. As they were doing so Ash sat on top of a branch overseeing what ever was happening

" So the higher ups in the police have been bought off too " said Ash

" Was it wise to let Archie to go " questioned a mysterious voice

" I just left him off for a bit he won't make it out alive by the end of the day " replied Ash as he watched the goons along with Archie disappear into the darkness

As Cynthia reached the mansion she saw Vanessa attending to the flowers

" Vanessa have you seen Ash I mean the Warden? " questioned Cynthia who was out of breath

" Well he came here a few minutes ago and left with his baggage I did try to stop him but he seemed in kind of a hurry " replied Vanessa

" ohhh no where have you gone to Ash " said Cynthia out aloud as she dreaded in horror

" Was the warden the boy you were looking for madam ? " asked Vanessa as she recalled the name Ash

" Yes he was and now I've missed the chance to make things right " said Cynthia

The phone rang for a few sec and when Cynthia picked up the call

" Cynthia Archie has been set free he has escaped" came the voice of Lance

" How did he escape we just captured him a few min ago " replied Cynthia who was in shock

" It seems the convoy was intercepted by the organisation and attacked the convoy" replied Lance

" But that should not be possible his transport route was a secret " replied Cynthia

" I don't know what to say " replied Lance who was shocked too

" Unless...." said Lance out aloud

" Unless what Lance ?" asked the Cynthia

" Fuck Ash warned us about it " raged Lance

" What do you mean ?" asked Cynthia who was now curious

" Ash told us that the law I'll fail us and seeing as how far the syndicate have infiltrated the region I won't be shocked if they have reached the higher ups of the police or the information department too" said Lance

" Ohhhh no " replied Cynthia

Meanwhile after a few hours of the escape Archie was brought back to the Syndicate base of operation to Giovanni

" Archie do you know how much I had to invest to set you free " questioned Giovanni

" I'LL KILL THAT BOY " said Archie in a spiteful tone

" Yes you will get your chance but look at what he has done to you" replied Giovanni who looked at how much of a pitiful state his comrade was in

" It happened because I let my guard down I won't let that happen again Giovanni get me some explosive ready and a lot of goons I'm gonna hunt that rat down and do him worse than what he has done to me" raged Archie

" Already ready get yourself cleaned up and go " said Giovanni with a smirk

Suddenly the whole room grew quite as a ticking sound was heard and all present in the room searched for the sound but found out that the sound was coming off of Archie whose stomach was glowing red with the ticks getting louder

" WHAT IS THIS INSIDE ME GET IT OFF " Archie started screaming

" What happened what is that inside you " asked Giovanni who started panicking

" I DONT KNOW GET IT OFF .... OHHHH SHIT THAT KID MUST HAVE PUT SOMETHING INSIDE ME WHEN HE PUNCHED ME INSIDE THE MOUTH " replied Archie

" I think it's a tracking devic...." said Archie before all of a sudden his stomach exploded leaving a basketball sized hole at the middle of his stomach as he dropped dead on the floor

After that Giovanni's phone rang and when he picked it up

" Did you like my present " came a mysterious voice

" Ash you damn rat " replied Giovanni in a spiteful tone

" Don't worry you will be next if it wasn't for you rescuing him I won't have found out where your base was expect me there soon " replied Ash as he cut the call and the room went silent
