Prologue

The game 'Creator' was a sandbox game, grand strategy game, roleplaying game, and many more. At the beginning of the game, you're randomly assigned a planet in a random solar system and tasked with creating humans or whatever race you want to inhabit your planet, and developing them to become a powerhouse which you can then govern over however you like, earning divinity to use in making yourself stronger, or investing back into your civilisation.

There are two major routes of playing, 'Playing Tall,' the economic way of playing, where you only develop a single planet or multiple planets, or 'Playing Wide,' also known as the warfare route, where you focus on expanding by colonising/conquering many planets/solar system as you possibly can. It was like the game CK3 (Crusaders King 3).

Every new player had a month of anonymity, (4 months in-game time) where they could create their race, and develop their planets as much as they can without distractions from hostile players. After the month, it's up to you to protect your world from other players if you're unlucky and get discovered, or attack other players' worlds if you discover them.

It was all in truth like an open-world game of old, a big map covered by fog, where you can only see areas you've explored or the big cities under the control of NPCs or players that were strong enough to publicly add their territories to the known map. Except you're a level one slime, and your next-door neighbour could possibly be a level 500 ender dragon, or a level 0 paper tiger with a level 1000 old ancestor that's currently in seclusion trying to break into level 1001.

It was impossible to conquer the universe, as the universe was infinite as the game developers kept adding new updates that upscaled the size every month. The best you could do was hold a couple of solar systems in your galaxy or possibly control a galaxy, but you'd have to be immortal to do that, and even then you personally won't be able to do it yourself as you'd get bored along the way.

In the game, every player started with 1000 creation points/divine energy, it was basically the mana pool they used in developing their world(s). Creation points are gained by completing unique or generic achievements, or by advancing your world, and its civilisation past a certain level. A technology-centric world like our earth world gain creation points for reaching the industrial revolution, then developing nuclear weapons, or starting its First World War, it could be anything as long as it affects the development of the world, even regressing back in technology can be counted as an achievement. Due to the literal use of creation points, it became the only currency used by creators. Players and NPCs included.

Every world has a focus at the beginning, it could be the regular Fantasy world, the Gate/ Portal world, a Murim world, or a hybridised version, but as time goes by, it was possible to diverge from its starting point, usually when 'Aliens' are discovered (according to the inhabitants), or just other Players and their civilisations. So a magic/fantasy centric world might be able to implement technology if they come in contact with another player with a technology-centric civilisation, although this would only happen if the mortals in the fantasy world can implement magic and technology. This also goes both ways, while a strictly technology-centric world won't be able to gain magic, they usually gain economically.

The game had multiple factions to join, secret organisations, and even functioning stock markets for players to invest in, or list their territory in if they've achieved the requirements for that. Although no one player had been able to do so as it was extremely hard, as it required significant overall development in all your worlds.

In the game, if a player is killed, then it was game over for them unless they had a life-saving ability. Players learnt this harsh reality after over 100 thousand players thought they could pull the ultimate gamer move, 'declare war on someone stronger than them and win by throwing their lives at the enemy in a one-sided war of attrition. It did not end well for them.' Although death meant takeover with no way of creating a new account, it also allowed a player to be able to develop a new world even after losing all of their territories, so unlike CK3, it wasn't game over even if you lose everything other than your life.

.....

.....

"The sweet feeling of death," I thought as my eyes closed knowing fully it wouldn't be opening back up come sunrise tomorrow morning.

'Did I want to die?! Was it worth it?!' I asked myself over and over again, but I could only come to the conclusion that it was. I didn't know where I was, or how I got here, but I knew I was most likely dead, No one wakes up in what looks like space, with what's definitely earth below them.

I died at a young age after getting caught by my high school bullies in an orgy with their moms. I even slapped the lead bully's mom's ass while he looked on horrified just to assert dominance, but then his father came in with his shotgun.

'What a chad move,' I inwardly congratulated myself.

"Ah!! the joys of teenagehood..."

"Please shut up!!" A silky voice echoed behind me.

"You were a 25 year old recent university graduate/7th-year otaku, and also you've never had bullies. Don't make your death sound more glorious than it was, besides, how did you even come to the conclusion that you're dead. I get the ambience screams death, but come on, use your brain."

I wonder how you even came up with that silly story of bullies and their mothers," she sighed exasperatedly.

I gawked as I turned to face what could be the most beautiful woman I'd ever seen, almost forgetting she'd said something.

"Hahaha, yeah," I said, chuckling at the beginning of my sentence to hide my embarrassment.

"All I remember was playing the very first VR game 'Creator', after months of playing, I'd finally entered the top 1000 in the rankings," I added.

I was no genius at the game, I played for 20 hours every day for 8 months straight before managing to reach my all-time high on the monthly ranking at 857th, and that was only in my country. Although I was still in the 90th percentile in the world, so I was very proud of my achievement.

"Yes, I know that, and that's why you're here," the silky voice of the woman rang out again.

"The game, 'Creator' was implemented in your world to recruit humans to act as creators for a new universe we discovered," she added.

"We?, who's we?, and why didn't this 'we' do the creation yourselves," I asked, shocked out of my mind at what she said.

"Just think of it as the Board of Directors of this and connecting universes," she replied, dismissing my question.

"So I'm going to offer you an opportunity, live the embodiment of the god of creation and pioneer a new frontier in the newly assessable universe, or go back to your life and you'd forget this whole interaction," she said, intently staring at me.

"Uhm, miss, first of all, who are you?"

"Ah! yes, I'm Goddess Reva, the Technical Officer of the Milky Way Group's Earth subdivision," she replied, a proud smile on her face.

"Isn't that the corporation in charge of the Milky Way galaxy in the game lore?" I asked.

"Yes, the very same one," she replied, with a proud smile on her face that pretty much says, 'Worship me, you poor commoner'.

"So is this some kind of cut-scene or glitch in the game?" I asked, not impressed as I didn't even know what she meant. "Are you trying to recruit me for the game? I don't know anything about game design, but I just graduated, and I'm running out of money so I'd take the job as long as it's not too demeaning," I added.

Reva chuckled before replying, "I meant what I said about the recruitment of humans to develop and populate a new universe."

"Let's say I believe you, why can't you and your 'board of directors do it yourself?" I asked.

"Have you ever seen a billionaire farming for his own food?!" she asked sarcastically.

"Well no, but...."

"Exactly, they leave the dirty jobs for commoners like you, while they sit back and reap the benefits," she haughtily replied.

"In earth's terms, aren't you just the manager of like a local Walmart store?! I don't see where your arrogance is coming from," I replied, pissed off at her superior attitude.

"Yes, but my local Walmart store determines if you eat or not," she quipped back, not even trying to be subtle about her arrogance.

"Little boy," she said, clearly looking down on me. "We both know you're going to accept my offer, so just get on with it so I can explain what it entails to you."

'It just feels like I'm talking to Aqua from Konosuba.'

"Fine," I replied, I had nothing to live for on earth anyway, and I'm being offered to be born in the game. Since I know everything about the game and most of its lore, my next life would be smooth-sailing.

'What timeline would I be born into, I hope it's at the beginning of the game lore, since I know where most of the good planets and resource planets are, I'd be grabbing it before everyone,' my heart rate increasing at the thought of how overpowered and rich I was about to become.

"Good, first of all, there are two ways you can create your own world, 'Manual, and Assisted'. for an ignorant earthling like you, it's best you're assisted by the Creation System," she said, still keeping her arrogant tone.

"I prefer manual creation," I hissed in response. I was born to a poor family, so I detested being looked down on and I wasn't going to change that because of some self-serving goddess.

"Denied!!"

"You said it's my choice," I muttered through gritted teeth.

"That I did, but I won't let some earthling reduce my rating due to his senseless pride," she replied.

'Pot calling kettle black,' I muttered.

"I'd be fine," I replied with what I assumed was a polite smile on my face.

"Do you know how to create cells from divine energy? or how to terraform a barren planet?" she asked.

"No, but..."

"My point exactly," she said, cutting off whatever I was going to say.

"Moving on, as a creation god or creator, you'd have a system that would implement your will on your worlds, and just like the game, this would be done by your available creation points. You'd also have access to a realm, where you can observe your world in its entirety, think of it as your home. Your world flows at a rate of 10,000 years to 1 day for you, this can be reduced if you wish it. Note that the time flow rate would reduce as your world's mortals get more powerful, or they reach multiple checkpoints in development until it becomes 1 year - 1 day.

While your lifespan is going to be infinite and you're going to be a god, you can be killed by other Creation Gods. You've played the game so I don't think I'd need to explain anything else to you since the mechanics are very similar."

"Thank you," I begrudgingly said.

"Right! the universe from the game and the one you're heading to are vastly different, so don't waste your time looking for resources from the game," she added.

"A piece of advice from a goddess in charge of multiple solar systems."

"The world you're about to step into is vastly different from where you're coming from. You're insignificant, and when you get to my level, you'd still be insignificant, so I'd advice you to throw away your pride and grovel to anyone more powerful than you. I'm not allowed to kill you, but after you become a creation god, if you're still arrogant to someone like me, then you and your world would be destroyed. You're not a protagonist of an Isekai novel, this is real life, if you offend a young master, you'd die, and it won't be painless."

"Thank you," I replied.

"Good," she said, waving her hand.
