2 Chapter 2 -Beginning

Pain.

The pain was the first thing I felt as I opened my eyes and was met with sunlight shining down on me. My head and body had felt like they had taken a beating and I felt aches all over my body as I lifted my right hand to block the light. My mind was fuzzy and I failed to focus on any of my thoughts. What the hell had happened? I attempted to sit up but failed as the body refused to move and I felt a slight tingling in my limbs.

"W-what," I said. My throat felt as dry as a desert and my voice sounded very rough. Where was I? I couldn't... Remember? No that wasn't it. My mind was still fuzzy and I couldn't focus on my memories. I spent the next couple of minutes trying to move and focus on anything before I finally felt the pain start to lessen.

My mind started to clear and memories returned to me. My body still refused to move so I focused inwards and tried to figure out what had happened. The last thing I remembered was the argument... no, not the argument. I had been in my room, watching anime, and then the questionnaire, and finally... darkness. Had I fallen asleep? I couldn't remember feeling particularly tired or sleepy. I shook my head, I need to figure out where I was. The sunlight proved I was definitely outside, but how I had gotten out of my room? I once again tried to sit up and this time succeeded in doing so. I could still feel some slight aches, but to my surprise, everything else, including the pain, had just vanished. I didn't feel any pain or discomfort at all.

I rubbed my eyes and lifted a hand to block the sun as I looked at my surroundings. My eyes widened as I took everything in. I was in what seemed to be a forest clearing and was surrounded on all sides by tall trees, foliage, and very big... flowers? They seemed like flowers, but last I checked flowers weren't 2.5ft tall and didn't have moving petals. I shook my head and looked away from the 'flowers'. I needed to figure out where I was and how I had gotten here. I reached for my pocket to grab my phone but I didn't feel anything like a pocket. I looked down at myself and felt my confusion increase. I was dressed in a loose fitted, long sleeve white t-shirt, tight black leather breeches, and knee-high boots. Before I could question why I had on different clothes, a ping sounded in my head, followed by a voice and a blue transparent screen popping up in front of me.

[Transmigation and Integration Complete]

[System transplant successful]

[Congratulations Host. You have been transmigrated to a different world and have been given a unique gift. The All-Powerful Summoning System]

[We thank you for completing our questionnaire and hope you have a great time]

I stared at the screen in shock. There was no way this was real. I had to be imagining things. I stayed frozen in shock for a while before my mind finally processed what I had been told. I had been transmigrated because of a... questionnaire? I pinched myself to see if I was dreaming, but had no such luck. I got to my feet and slowly turned in a circle. A different world, I was in an entirely different world. I felt my excitement grow along with my fear. These things only happened in light novels and anime, and what about my family and friends. Would I never get to see them again? I started to feel dizzy and fell to my knees. Why had this happened? Why me? I felt my fear start to grow, but I shoved it down before it could get a hold of me.

Wait, if I had been transmigrated did that mean that... I quickly glanced back down at myself and noticed that it wasn't just my clothes that looked different, but my body as well. Oh my god, I had really been transmigrated into someone else's body. I tried to stay calm as I inspected myself, but found my breath quickening and hands shaking. My new body was lean, muscular, and tall, with a slightly pale complexion. I had been 5ft 8 before but now was probably closer to 6ft 2. I had no idea if my face had changed as I didn't have a mirror to see, but a quick shake of my head made me realize that my hair was definitely shorter. I closed my hands in an attempt to stop the shaking and took several deep breaths. Panicking would only make things worse.

I needed to stop and think. I needed answers.

"Ermmm... System?" I spoke out loud and to my relief quickly received a response.

[Yes Host]

"Can I ask you some questions?"

[Of course Host. We will be together for the foreseeable future]

"Ok..."

I had a ton of questions but started with the most important ones.

"Why did this happen to me?" I asked, taking another deep breath to calm myself.

[Host completed the questionnaire and agreed to begin anew]

My fists tightened and I gritted my teeth in anger. That damn questionnaire. How the hell was I have supposed to have known this would happen because I completed a simple questionnaire. I took another deep breath, shook the thoughts away, and focused back on my questioning.

"Will I be able to go home?"

That was the question that I thought was the most important. Despite the recent argument, I still loved my family and friends and I didn't want to never see them again. I knew they cared about me and that the convention had been because they had been worried and were trying to help. Besides what family didn't have its problems from time to time. I held my breath as I waited for the answer that would change everything.

[Yes, but the host will have to achieve godhood and reach the pinnacle. Luckily you have The All-Powerful Summoning System. So with enough time and effort, The Host will definitely be able to go home]

I was happy, but also slightly worried. Godhood. I would have to reach godhood and the pinnacle, whatever that was, to return home. I guessed that The All-Powerful Summoning System was the power that I had been gifted and what I would use to reach godhood and the pinnacle. Why a summoning system though? I searched for a reason and finally came to the only logical conclusion. The questionnaire. It had asked me to choose a warrior or king, and I had picked king. I needed to find out more about the system and how it worked.

[Quest received: Complete system tutorial: Reward: Summoning Token]

Well, that was good timing. I looked up at the sky, took a deep breath, and let it out slowly. I had wanted something to do and now I did. If I had to reach godhood and the pinnacle to return home, then I would. I would do whatever it took to get back to my family. I wouldn't allow my last memories of them to be bad. With my resolve firmed I got back to my feet and turned my thoughts back to the system.

"System."
