Billy’s POV
"What are we going to do, Billy?"
Madelyn followed me out of the cafe. She hugged herself and looked flustered. Her mother's ranting on the phone seemed to scare her.
Why would I know that? Because her voice is so loud that I can hear it.
"Don't be afraid. I'll go with you and talk to your parents," I said to Madelyn. "I'll take care of everything."
Madelyn followed me into the car and curled up in the passenger seat, her legs shaking uncontrollably.
"Oh, no, I've ruined everything..."
"Honey, no." I massaged her tense limbs and hugged her like a baby. "Your mom and dad will be happy for us, huh?"
"Well..." Madelyn perked up a little, but still looked a little glum.
To tell the truth, I don't know how to face her parents. But now I can't let a girl face this kind of difficulty. I had to stand in front of her and fix everything for her.
Before we drove, I texted Charles.
"Madelyn and I need your help and Luna's! The address is..."
