Chapter 69: Rescue Operation?

Four men approach the now open door cautiously, looking at the dead bodies on the ground and the dark, pitch-black room.

They enter the room slowly, spreading out to see if anyone is inside.

One of the man abruptly notices a flash of light.

"AAh!"He screams in horror as his body is flung to the other side of the room.

The other men sees this and start firing madly at that corner.

Rrr-ttttta-ttaaaaa!

Ting! ting!

After a minute if recless firing they look at each other nervously, debating if whatever attacked the man before is dead.

Thump! Screech!

"AAAH!" "AAAAAH!"

Daddda-daaaada

The two men are flung to the side wall, and the last person fires at what looks like a metal giant.

Toni, in her Mk-1 suit, keeps advancing through the hail of bullets and punches the guy in his chest, flinging him to the cave wall like a broken doll.

Noticing that all the men here are down, she continues advancing out of the room. She keeps attacking whoever comes in her way, having memorized the direction of the exit as she rampages, releasing her inner rage.

Toni blasts through iron doors that the fleeing terrorists had tried to trap her behind, and then punches all of them through their gunfire.

As she turns a corner, Toni stops in disbelief.

"Luke?" Toni asks, not believing what she is seeing.

"Toni?" The man in combat gear speaks with equal surprise.

"What are you doing here?" Toni asks, baffled, as she lifts her visor, so she can see better. 

"Rescuing you, apparently," Luke replies, a grin spreading across his face as he lowers the gun.

"Are you mad? Why did you come here to rescue me?" Toni demands, angry and worried.

"This is not the time for that. We have to get you out of here. I have a p-" Luke begins to say.

"Just shut up and follow me," Toni interrupts, feeling quite touched as her emotions bubble over, but knowing that there are still enemies ahead, she moves forward, ensuring that no one can get past her.

"Wait, let me help you," you offer and touch her metal armor, and use your power Metal Constructs.

"Huh? What did you do? The armor feels lighter now and easier to move around," Toni remarks as she swings her arm with ease.

"I just improved it," you reply with a smile. 

Just then, you hear shouts of men from the cave ahead.

"Get behind me," Toni yells, rushing ahead.

Bobbi and Sage look towards you, and you just shrug, following the metal giant as it decimates the oncoming terrorists with ease.

You have to do nothing as the ambushing terrorists are taken care of by Bobbi and Sage before you can even lift your gun.

Toni chooses a different route from the one you had taken, and as she turns around a corner she suddenly exclaims, "Yinsen!"

There lies the old man, Yinsen, bleeding out over a pile of sacks.

"Watch out," he mumbles.

Toni looks back, alarmed, at the armed Raza pointing a rocket launcher at her.

"You could have been my woman, and we would have ruled the world together!" he says in anger as he pulls the trigger.

Before the rocket can reach Toni, you dash in front of her and raise your hand.

"Luke, no!" Toni yells in worry.

Boom!

"How?" Raza asks, baffled as you are completely fine, having used your Forcefield to tank the rocket.

Toni yanks a cord of her left hand and points it at Raza.

Woosh!

A rocket launches from her hand, blasting him to the wall.

"You had no chance, random guy," you remark with a smirk.

"Luke, are you alright?" Toni asks worriedly as she approaches you in her towering mech.

"Yes I am fine, you should go and check on that old man," you say, casting a pitiful look at the dying Yinsen.

"Yinsen, come on, we have to go," Toni pleads, worriedly as she approaches him.

"Stark, you go. I don't think I can make it," Yinsen speaks with difficulty.

"Come on, we have to follow the plan," Toni insists emotionally.

"This was always the plan, Stark," Yinsen says with a small smile.

"Come on, you are gonna go see your family," Toni encourages as her eyes go misty.

"My family, they have already abandoned me long ago. I am sure you will look after them, especially my daughter. You will love her," Yinsen mumbles, his eyes dimming.

"I will look after them," Toni promises sincerly.

"D-don't waste it. Don't waste your life!" Yinsen exclaims as he closes his eyes.

"Yinsen!" Toni cries out.

Bobbi comes forward, checks his pulse and breathing, and shakes her head, making Toni sigh sadly.

While this is happening, you make your way to Raza, who is still miraculously breathing. You use your Telepathy powers and scan his memories.

"Fucking Mandarin," you mutter with distaste, using your Doom Blades to end his life.

"Come on, Toni, we have to go," you speak up, realizing you lack any medical supplies that could have aided the old man.

"Yes!" Toni agrees as she closes her visor and strides forward with vengeance.

The terrorists keep attacking, but the Iron mech powers through them. Soon, you all reach the cave's exit.

"Bobbi, tell Sable not to come near the cave and to surround the exit of the valley," you instruct Bobbi, who nods and activates her comms to relay the message to Sable.

Toni walks out of the cave ahead of you.

As Toni surveys the scene, she spots people fighting at the entrance to the valley, then gazes down at the awaiting enemies.

Dadddd-ddda-dddaaa!

They start unloading their bullets on her while yelling.

Toni smirks behind her mask and presses a button on the side of her palm amidst the gunfire, directing her hand toward them.

Whoosh!

The flamethrower comes alive, as a jet of fire is released from her hands and Toni points it straight at them.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

"AAAAH!" People yell as they continue firing at the Iron giant who is mercilessly incinerating them.

Boom! Boom!

You, Bobbi, and Sage follow the mech as it rains fire upon them. Toni targets the crates of weapons, causing them to explode in a sea of fire.

Just as a machine gunner tries to point the gun at Toni, Sage unclips her rifle and aims it in his direction and pulls the trigger.

Bang!

"Nice shot," you acknowledge, though you can't be sure, but you suspect the man was headshotted as his body went limp to the side.

You hastily create a forcefield around Toni, who was being stopped by multiple gunners attacking her.

Bobbi, Sage, and you raise your guns and return fire while taking cover.

Boom! Boom!

The crates of weapons were exploding all around you, but there were still people attacking.

Before the situation could escalate further, you heard shouts and more gunfire.

Looking ahead, you could see a woman with silver hair arriving with her men, attacking the enemies from behind and eliminating them.

"Lets go, let's get out of here," you say as you go beside Toni, who was observing the scene ahead in confusion.

"You hired them?" she asks, looking at the Wild Pack attacking the terrorists ferociously.

"Yes, let's go. I have an easier way out," you inform her, and she follows you to a corner where the fire hasn't reached yet.

You utilize your Power: Earth Portal Creation, generating a portal back to your jet.

"What the heck, Luke? What is that?" Toni asks in wonder, looking at the hole that had appeared in front of her.

"There are a lot of things that I have to tell you," you reply with a smirk as Bobbi and Sage step through the portal. "Let's go," you say as you enter the portal too.

Toni, seeing Luke vanish, hesitates for a second, then follows behind him into the hole.

You glance at Toni, who had just exited the portal, and you cancel your power.

"Are we out of the valley?" Toni asks, looking around at the jet. "This is much better than my plan!" she admits.

"Bobbi, tell Sable that the mission is completed, and she can start bombing the place without worries now," you instruct Bobbi, who nods in acknowledgment.

"Well, I had already set that place ablaze, so there won't be much left to destroy. And you, Luke, I need some answers," Toni says as she opens her visor.

"Sure, let's get you out of that suit first," you say with a smile as you guide her inside the jet.
