Edward and Fred approached the scene of the crime, they saw the flashing lights of police cars and heard the sound of sirens in the distance. They knew that they would find some valuable information in this crime scene but the police had already declared it a crime scene and cordoned off the area with yellow tape...
No one was meant to be here so it was surprising that the police were already here.
Did this mean that this was a normal crime scene?
Fred was confused but Edward was clueless about what was happening but he recognized this stench in the air.
It was the drugs that Papa distributed so they were in the right place without a doubt.
"Why are you spacing out? Get your shit together!" Fred barked at Edward, and Edward quickly apologized as he didn't want any trouble with anyone so it was best to not start any drama that could be avoided.
"What are you two doing here?" A police officer asked and Edward held his tongue because he knew Fred fancied himself the leader of this operation.
"We're representative of Gen Z, we have been informed that you require our help," Fred said, the tone he used to address the officer sounded so professional.
"Oh! Right this way…" The officer said, gesturing for the two boys to follow him, they complied.
Edward could feel some officers shooting them with hateful glares and he understood why because if superheroes were allowed to do their job then there would be no need for police officers anymore.
"Edward, don't touch anything," Fred instructed him before proceeding to do just that, but Edward knew it wasn't in his place to question him.
Fred touched objects that were otherwise marked to be taken into evidence and the moment he did, he went into a trance-like state. He could not perceive what went on in reality as he could read the memories of inanimate objects.
This allowed him to have a visual understanding of what went on here, which made collecting evidence and everything else that police usually do naught.
Edward was beginning to see how this passed bill might be a terrible idea but before he could delve deeper into his thoughts, Fred's trance-like state.
"That is strange…" Fred muttered, tapping his finger against the floor.
"What is?" Edward asked and Fred looked right at him.
"It was none of the people on the poster, are you sure we're at the right place?" Fred asked and Edward had to reconfirm if this was the right place and it was.
He told Fred but Fred was skeptical because what he saw was something far more sinister than small-time drug distributors. Fred began touching other objects, linking and stringing along the loose memories he had gotten from the various objects, and the more he touched, the more sense it made.
"What the fuck is this?" Fred thought to himself.
"I have been briefed on the situation and I apologize but we would have to skip the formalities," The man in black glasses, and suit said, he brought a badge from his pocket and Edward could not believe what he was seeing. This man was from the FBI, this wasn't just a drug deal gone wrong, this was something bigger than either boy could imagine.
"I'm Special Agent Philip, and I will need you to tell me everything you have gathered," Philip spoke like he was aware of Fred's power and this would not even be a surprise if he did.
It was the freaking FBI! And Fred informed him about everything that occurred, this was not a case of humans killing each other but something far more sinister.
"I suspected as much, there is a group we have been following for some time now but we have had no lead on them," Philip said.
"Can you follow me to the station so we can share the information we have with one another?" Philip was open to negotiation because he knew this might be the breakthrough they have been looking for, for years but this was against protocol and that was why Philip was going to do this low-key so he could take all the credit when the case is eventually solved.
Fred and Edward agreed to go with him as they had nothing else to lose, they needed to solve this just as badly so they could check it off the list because they were aware of just how important this was.

"You have done it again, haven't you? You cannot keep leaving a trail or we will be found out eventually, Astro!" A lady complained; she had the right side of her pink hair shaved.
"You worry too much, we completed the trade. Who cares if a bunch of nobodies had to die, Gina?" A bald man with a nipple tattooed on his forehead said; he was balding and generally unattractive to boot.
"You do know they have the superheroes on their side now, right?" Gina asked Astro but Astro didn't look bothered by this.
"And? What can they do?" Astro questioned with a raised brow, but complacency was the thing that they couldn't afford.
"I guess you have a point, we do it for him after all…" Gina said and both their eyes darted to the corner of the room where a man rested on a couch in the hotel room.
A man, who had a different aura around him than the two bickering.
His eyes were closed and his ears plugged with headphones that blasted some heavy metal.
He was dressed in a casual loose white shirt and black shorts.
"That is right, as long as we have him. No one can touch us!" Astro bragged.
"You sound like a side character that is about to die…" Gina rolled her eyes the moment she said this. Astro flashed her the middle finger, they were underlings for a very powerful man.
The man laying on the couch opened his eyes to reveal his crimson-red eyes with his wavy red hair resting gently behind.
"Thanatos is absolute… No one can touch him." Gina blurted out.
Author here, time to kick things off as I used the earlier chapters to get a feel of the world and characters.
