Testing the waters

The place where Zhang Zian and Zhuang Xiaodie stood was a small open space full of wild grass. The height of the wild grass was almost as high as an adult, and next to it was a gloomy ancient tree in the sky. The vines spiraled up around the trunk, tightly wrapped around the big tree like an infatuated woman.

There were sounds of insects chirping in the surroundings, and strange sounds occasionally came from the depths of the wild grass. It seemed that some wild beast had quickly slipped past, but because the wild grass was too high and dense, nothing could be seen clearly.

This environment was more dangerous than the mahogany forest. There might be large carnivorous beasts hiding around. Zhang Zian was uneasy, but since Zhuang Xiaodie was around, if something really happened, she would be there.
