Chapter Six: Entering the Dungeon Alone

"Should I solo the dungeon?" Soloing a dungeon might sound impossible, but he had done it a lot in the game.

Goblins are a pretty weak race that relies heavily on traps. Their dungeons aren't hard as long as you are careful enough.

"It may be stupid, but life should be thrilling too. Let's go—dead or conquer the dungeon." Lan Sol checked his mana, and it was full.

He then placed all the weapons in his inventory and went in barehanded. However, he could take each weapon at lightning speed.

Without anything weighing him down, he was pretty agile and fast.

[Do you wish to enter the dungeon 'Goblin Habitat?']

[Challenger: 1]

[It's not recommended to challenge a dungeon alone.]

"Yeah." As he clicked on yes, the dungeon's entrance lit up a bit as if something blocking it had disappeared.

"Time to go." Lan Sol walked inside.

The interior of the dungeon was dull. It was nothing but a rocky ceiling, rocky walls, and a rocky floor.

It was pretty smooth. There were rows of entrances that led to different parts of the dungeon, meaning the dungeon was large.

[Dungeon has been sealed.]

[To exit, either defeat the boss and conquer the dungeon or find an alternative exit.]

With the notification, the entrance beside him was sealed. Nothing changed, but when he touched it, there was a barrier blocking his way.

"Well, I am here to conquer it." Conquering a dungeon was too useful; it could be used all the time.

"So I should choose a path." He chose the furthest left.

The moment he stepped forward, he immediately became very attentive and observed his surroundings.

"Trap here. Pretty easy to spot." There was a small pit; walking carelessly could lead you to a pit full of rock spikes.

It was very weak, as with a single spear strike, the weak rock ground collapsed.

"..." Lan Sol was pretty speechless.

Over a 50m area was covered by the pit, and from one wall to the next, it stretched. Meaning jumping from one side to the other was impossible at his current level, and there was no remaining ground to walk on.

So he had no choice but to return and choose the entrance next to the one he just entered.

The path had no broken ground, at least, but there were lots of other traps.

A button that releases arrows. A button that, just on touch, erects a rock spike.

A boulder rolled behind him as he spammed frost balls and stopped the boulder monument easily.

The boulder hadn't gained much speed, so it was way easier to stop it. Running away from it spelled danger and more traps.

"Finally." He saw a small hole in the wall. The wall may have looked normal to careless eyes, but when looked at cautiously, one could find it was hollow.

"So they're going to attack at last." Lan Sol muttered happily, as he would love to deal with goblins more than the traps.

He pretended not to notice the goblins and passed by the wall, but the moment he did, the goblins jumped at him with their rusty daggers.

Bang! Bang!

"Kikkeeek!"

"Kurrrrrar!"

Then the goblins shrieked as frost balls hit their chests.

With a sword in his hand, he struck the one from the side as he jumped back to avoid the remaining attacks.

Without even adjusting himself, he kicked the ground and slashed one goblin. The goblin let out another shriek, but before another could attack, he jumped and did a smooth somersault.

Just as he landed, he stabbed the sword into the back of the goblin's head.

Goblins are weak. Not only is their physical strength weak, but their defense sucks too.

[-50 HP]

[-35 HP]

[-100 HP!]

The one with the exclamation mark meant critical damage.

It was an instant kill.

The goblin, injured and startled, became terrified and didn't dare to attack at all. But Lan Sol had no chance to rest as he couldn't let them flee.

Goblins fleeing means more traps and more annoying things to deal with.

Lan Sol rushed at the nearest one and stabbed its neck. Green blood splattered everywhere, but he already took the sword out and slashed the nearest goblin.

A slash wasn't enough as his weapon wasn't that sharp and even chipped, but it got the job done.

Two instant slashes put the goblin out of its misery.

The remaining five goblins began to run, but he already had his spear.

The spear Lan Sol had crafted—he just threw it at the goblins.

Puk!

Puk!

Puk!

All eight spears perfectly stabbed the goblins. Three missed, but he's not the best at archery.

Of course, it wasn't the end as they weren't dead.

So he walked slowly.

"Kireeer!!!"

"Kurrrur!"

"Kieeeee!"

Their screams were weird, but the sound of piercing flesh was way better.

"Total eighty EXP. Not that much." After the slaughter of the eight goblins, he checked their bodies.

Yeah, decomposing a goblin body didn't yield anything, as goblin bodies didn't have anything useful, and their meat didn't taste good or provide any benefits. Also, the game didn't allow decomposing of certain monsters where there was nothing useful to decompose.

He grabbed everything he could, not even leaving the thin cloth the goblins used to cover themselves or the rusty daggers.

"Let's check for a chest." He checked every corner like a pro gamer.

He had checked other areas too, but none of them had any hidden rooms or chests.

After a ten-minute search, he found nothing.

"Let's move." Even after checking every nook and cranny of the room, he was empty-handed, which made him disappointed.

_____

Clang! Clang!

Two goblins attacked from behind, while the one in front struck with its dagger. The goblin was bigger than the others and more skilled. Its sword was also made of metal!

[Goblin Soldier]

[Race]: Goblin

[Level]: Level 5

[Health]: 200/200

[Attack Power]: 10~15

[Strength]: 15

[Agility]: 8

[Spirit]: 6

[Constitution]: 10

[Skills]: None

[Current Status]: Healthy

[Note: Goblin soldiers are stronger than weak goblins, bigger in size, strength, and more skilled.]

Despite being level 5, it had less health than the big python and was slow.

Its skill wasn't much better either. It was better than the uncoordinated and predictable attacks of the weak goblins.

"I want that sword, so please die fast." Lan Sol liked the sword. It was better than his crappy stone sword.

"Krrrr!" The goblin gritted its teeth, and its green face wrinkled as Lan Sol casually dodged the attack and ducked before swiping his legs.

The goblin that attacked from behind didn't expect it and fell down. Before it could stand, the sword had gone through its throat.

The goblin soldier immediately attacked from behind, but Lan Sol laid flat and raised the sword.

Clang!

With that sound, the goblin soldier raised its sword again.

But before it could strike down, a frost ball hit its stomach.

"Krr!" It shrieked and looked at the other weak goblins, who were trembling with fear.

They picked up stones from the ground and threw them.

Lan Sol jumped and dodged their stones while bombarding the frost ball at the goblin soldier.

The five goblins had good aim, but Lan Sol ran around, not staying in one place.

The goblin soldier had 100 health left and chased him in rage.

Lan Sol had no interest in the goblin soldier, but as the weak goblins threw the stones, he took a dive, and the stone hit the goblin soldier behind him.

"Krrrrirrrr! Kireeer!!!!" The goblin soldier raged and swiped its sword mid-air, jumping like a lunatic.

The weak goblins jumped and became more terrified. But they didn't get the chance to apologize, as Lan Sol arrived before them.

The first sword entered the forehead of the goblin. The goblin from the side attacked him but got kicked, flying away.

The right goblin also attacked, but a frost ball sent it flying too. It happened too fast for the slow goblins to react.

Psss!

As he drew the sword out of the goblin's head, blood splattered on him. But without caring, he stabbed the goblin who charged at him.

The sword entered its stomach, and a kick sent it flying, bleeding.

He turned instantly and kicked the goblin that tried to attack him from behind. The kick made the goblin fall down, and a sword shortly followed, coming for its eyes.

[-100 HP!]

[Successfully killed the Weak Goblin (LV. 1) Gained 10 EXP!]

He ran toward the injured goblin that was sent flying from his frost ball and ended its life.

Suddenly, the goblin soldier attacked with rage. But Lan Sol ducked and stabbed the sword into the goblin's crotch.

"KRRRRRRRRRRRR!" A sound that was ear-deafening escaped the goblin soldier's mouth. It was hard to believe a goblin could let out such a loud, strange noise.

Lan Sol smiled at the goblin soldier.

Bang!

The frost ball sent the goblin soldier flying, and Lan Sol jumped after it. As the goblin soldier landed, so did Lan Sol, with his sword landing on the goblin soldier's forehead.

Sitting on the goblin soldier's chest, he drew the sword back.

[-99 HP!]

[Successfully killed the Goblin Soldier (LV. 5) Gained 100 EXP!]

"Wow!" He took the fallen sword. The metal sword was heavier but felt way sharper.

"I like it!" Lan Sol chased the goblins. The three goblins tried to run away but were killed shortly after.

"I am beat." Lan Sol sat on the ground. He had ventured pretty far into the dungeon. Goblins were popping out from all the holes.

He still wasn't too deep, as only Goblin Soldiers had emerged. There should be stronger goblins further in.

"It should be a… camp?" There was a small room in this area.

These small rooms were just enough for a single goblin. The biggest room here must belong to the Goblin Soldier.

"Let's check it." Lan Sol checked the largest room. It barely fit him, and it was too small, as in five steps, you'd reach the end.

There was a single stone bed with lots of thin cloth piled up.

Lan Sol had collected all the clothes from the goblins, as they could be useful later, along with the rusty daggers.

Like every gamer, who cares if their storage is filled with junk? One day, everything might come in handy.

He packed the thin cloth into his inventory, then checked the small stone barrel.

There wasn't a chest, but there was a barrel. Still better than nothing.

"Hmm… Stack of rusty daggers. An extra sword! More thin clothes." He picked everything from the barrel. After taking everything out, he was about to leave, but he saw something at the bottom.

The bottom looked a bit weird, and as he touched it, he felt it. "It's hollow!" His eyes lit up. Lan Sol destroyed the bottom of the barrel and took out a glittering item.

"Wait… This… Why the heck is this here?!
