Wanda In Black Silk Stockings, Ch 9.1

For Hode, having divine-level magical talent is extremely important. The powers of the Phoenix, chaotic magic, and fairy energy are all ancient energy forms. They are familiar with each other and are the best energy sources for practicing magic. Possessing even a fragment of one of them grants immense power. Now, with the boost of divine-level magical talent, his progress in magical cultivation will be rapid.

Currently, Hode already has divine-level magical talent along with the power of the Phoenix. He is, in essence, a perfect vessel for magical cultivation, far surpassing even the Ancient Ones's talents. The most terrifying part is that he doesn't even need to siphon power from demonic gods in other dimensions. In the Marvel universe, magic is not conjured out of thin air but is drawn from the powers of demonic gods from other dimensions, and this usually comes at a cost!

Only mages and the sworn followers of Kamar-Taj are allowed to borrow magic from the demonic gods of the dimension. However, borrowing power from the Three Demons comes with minimal costs, allowing it to be categorized as white magic. On the other hand, black magic incurs heavy costs, often requiring the sacrifice of one's soul. But Hode doesn't need to pay any price!

"Wait! No, hold on!" Just as Hode was filled with excitement, his smile abruptly faded. He remembered the most crucial issue. "Even with divine-level magical talent, it's useless if I don't have a magic book…"

It's like having a firearm but no ammunition. Although he was able to counter Wanda's chaotic magic with his own magical energy while playing with her, that was merely the direct crushing power of the Phoenix. While he could mobilize energy, it was purely about utilizing energy.

"It looks like I have to come up with a plan!" Hode sat down in a chair, deep in thought. "If I recall correctly, the Sanctum Sanctorum is in New York!" If he remembered correctly, one of Kamar-Taj's sanctuaries was located in Manhattan, New York. According to the timeline, the future Sorcerer Supreme, Doctor Strange, would also be at the Sanctum Sanctorum!

The Sanctum Sanctorum surely contains the magic books he needs! It is one of the important sanctuaries, a primary base and residence for Doctor Strange in the Marvel world, dedicated to his team for learning and researching magic, as well as protecting Earth. Its greatest function is to provide a safe space for Doctor Strange and other guardians to train and amass knowledge to protect the world from evil forces.

"But how do I get in…?" Hode stroked his stubble, pondering silently. If he recalled correctly, parts of the Sanctum Sanctorum were open for public tours! Tickets could be purchased, and guided tours could be joined to enter the sanctuary. Although Kamar-Taj doesn't engage in secular matters, they still need to make money. Perhaps there would be a chance to access those magic books.

...

In the afternoon, outside a building in Manhattan that exuded an ancient atmosphere.

"Everyone, slow down! Don't rush, form a line and follow me one by one!" A plump man at the front waved a small red flag, his kind face shining with a smile as he led a group inside. He looked like a tour guide, but his clothing style was very old-fashioned, reminiscent of a monk's attire. Although it seemed somewhat out of place in modern society, it all felt reasonable upon seeing the plaque at the entrance that welcomed visitors to the magical library.

"So professional! Even their uniforms look so immersive!" A little girl exclaimed, wide-eyed as she held her mother's hand. Everything around them amazed the tourists who had come to visit. For them, this ancient architecture was an unprecedented sight.

"Wong…" At the back of the line, Hode, dressed in casual black sportswear, observed the hefty man leading the group. He genuinely did not expect the Grand Master managing the Kamar-Taj library to personally greet visitors. This made him reflect on the unpredictable nature of the world.

Wong led the group into the sanctuary. An ancient and profound air enveloped them. The sight that met their eyes was of an old European style, with an extravagant ceiling in the great hall. Surrounding the library were several apprentices in monk robes bowing their heads to clean.

"Everyone!" Wong stopped, turned around, and addressed the tourists: "The books on the first floor can be browsed, but be careful not to damage them, or you will have to pay for it!"

"Are they really just allowing people to look at the magic books like this?" Hode gazed around, bewildered. However, after a moment, he understood why. Not to mention geniuses like Doctor Strange needing guidance from the Grand Master to comprehend such works, how could a group of ordinary people with no cultivation talent grasp them? From the current display, it was evident that the magical books on the first floor weren't that important. Even if someone were to copy them, it wouldn't have any impact. Otherwise, Wong wouldn't have said that only damages would require compensation.
