In the classroom of Midtown High, yes, the same one where your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man studied, Max glanced to the side, looking at the dumb-looking spectacled guy, Peter Parker. His face resembled the Spider-Man from an animated ultimate Spiderman, and there are also other characters from that Earth too in this room, like Mary and Harry and even Flash all of them being same as from Ultimate Spider man.
In simple words all of them going to be Super Hero in future, with Mary being Carnage Queen, Harry being Anti-venom and flash being Agent venom, yes, aside from Spider Man other three will have Symbiotes as super powers.
But currently Peter look dumb as hell, because he had yet to awaken his Spidey powers after getting a love bite from a radioactive spider.
"At least he can awaken powers," Max sighed as he looked forward. The teacher was teaching, but Max's focus was not on her.
Max Ryder had a secret—he carried memories from his previous world, a place where the fantastic world of Marvel was just fiction. Yet out of nowhere, he found himself waking up in this world, in the body of a blonde-haired, blue-eyed, handsome guy named Max Ryder. In this life, one thing remained the same: he was an orphan. His parents had died in an accident, and the grandmother who took care of him passed away shortly after due to old age and illness.
At first, when Max realized he had been reincarnated as a baby, he was thrilled. After all, isekai was one of his favorite genres. But that excitement faded quickly when he saw Tony Stark on TV and heard about the Daily Bugle. All his grand plans of becoming rich by copying anime from his old world went up in smoke.
As a hardcore Marvel fan, Max knew the Mad Titan Thanos was the least of his concerns. The Marvel universe was filled with far worse beings—creatures so terrifying they could make Thanos run for his life with just a single look, even if he had all the Infinity Stones in his grasp.
So, he came up with a plan according to a Marvel fanfic he once read. In the story, the main character is smart because of his reincarnation and becomes a genius equivalent to Tony Stark, joining the Avengers. Thinking the same would happen with him, he started studying at the age of 2. But the latter two years had given him a reality check; he was only a little bit smarter than the average person, thwarting his plan of becoming smarter than Tony.
Max started his next plan: training hard and meditating even harder to meet the standards of Kamar-Taj. However, upon reaching the New York Sanctum, he got a harsh reality check—he had no talent for the Mystic Arts. Despite his insistence, the Sanctum's master allowed him to study the books, as knowledge in Kamar-Taj is free for all. But, as the master had warned, Max simply lacked the talent for magic.
Max sighed once more, glancing at the date: 2010. Soon it would be time for Iron Man 2, where Tony Stark would face Whiplash, and the year before when Spider-Man would gain his powers. It was also just a year before Thor's arrival and two years before the Battle of New York.
"Well, strength is important in Marvel, or you wouldn't even know when you died," Max muttered, to himself. He need power, All of this was crucial for the safety of his family—especially his sister.
Being an orphan in both of his lives, Max cherished the only family he had—his younger sister, Lumia Ryder. Two years younger than him, Lumia is a cute, obedient girl who stayed strong despite losing their parents and soon grandparents. Now, at 18, Max acted as her guardian, ensuring she wasn't sent to a foster home. He lived for her safety and well-being, the bond between them deepened by their shared losses.
'I have to gain the power, or I won't be able to keep her safe in this crazy world' Max clenched his hands tightly as he thought.
"Sigh, how I wish I also had the almighty System, but I don't have it. What a failure of Transmigration am I, without any cheats," Max said with a sad look, recalling all the Marvel fanfics he had read in his free time.
[Actually, it's Greatest System Host, but Almighty also sounds good.]
[Would the host like to change the name?]
[Yes/No]
Max: "..."
System: " :) "
Max: "..."
System: " :) "
'System, since when have you been online?' Max asked in a calm voice, though there was a grinding sound of teeth expressing something else.
[I have just activated yesterday, Host, after fully charging by passively absorbing Cosmic energies for the past 18 years.]
'Then why didn't you said something like, Loading complete or System is now online?' Max asked calmly but clenched his fists harder.
[ I am too lazy to do that and you never asked]
'Dear System, do you perhaps also have physical manifestation?' Max asked, smiling like the devil.
[Host, it is advised to have a girlfriend and not look for system for such activities.]
Max: "...." (Dumbfounded)
Max: ".....(Frowning)...(Processing).....(Processing)...(Realizing) YOU DUCKING BASSHOLE @#@#%$"
"MAX RYDER, what was that?" Teacher yelled back as soon as Max yelled.
"N-nothing, I suddenly had a text message" Max sighed and said eventually.
"Go and stand outside the class, we will have a visit to principal office after the class" Teacher said sternly as she pointed outside.
"I am sorry" Max said as he picked his bag and obediently stood outside.
'Now, System, Seriously, why didn't you say anything, if you were activated?' Max asked mentally coming out.
[You never asked or said the code word.]
"Code word?" Max
[Yes, "Status" or "System."]
"Hmm, that's the reason?" Max asked with a speechless look on his face.
[Yes.....]
*Bang*
[Host, why are you banging your head against the wall?]
'I AM killing YOU, Why did I get a idiotic system like YOU' He shouted mentally.
*Bang*
Max replied while banging his head on the wall, but it was actually at the soft spot.
[Host, it is detected that your method has a 0% result. You should try edges or move some distance for the best result, this way you will die and I might get normal Host who is not mentally damaged]
"Hell no, it will hurt, And it's you who is menta....your A.I. is damaged, NOT my brain" Max replied while continuing his non-existent Killing.
[.....]
[Did I chose a wrong host?] Poor system questioned himself while the Teacher also looked at Max, along with other student who wondered what's going on Max' head.
'Maybe he really didn't mean it?" Teacher thought and decided to forgive Max this time.
