Special

The morning sunlight gently filtered through Leah's curtains, casting soft beams of light across the room. Her bedroom was simple, yet unmistakably hers—a true reflection of her tomboyish nature. There were posters of athletes on the walls, jerseys hanging from pegs, and sneakers tossed into the corner with casual disregard. A wooden desk sat under the window, cluttered with notebooks, pens, and an old sports trophy. The room had an air of comfort, practicality, and quiet strength, much like Leah herself. Her blankets were haphazardly tangled around her legs, her body stretched out in the bed beside me.

I lay there quietly, watching her as she slept. Her face was peaceful, soft features illuminated by the morning light. A smile played at the corner of my lips as I reached over, gently brushing a few stray strands of hair from her forehead. The simple act made my heart swell. She groaned softly, stirring under my touch. Her eyes fluttered open, still heavy with sleep, before they lazily found mine.

Her lips curved into a sleepy smile. "Good morning," she rasped, her voice low and thick with sleep, yet filled with warmth.

I chuckled softly. "Good morning, Leah," I whispered back, my fingers gently tracing the curve of her cheek. Her skin was warm beneath my fingertips.

"What are you smiling about?" she asked, her tone playful but tired. There was something in the way she looked at me that made me feel like I was exactly where I belonged.

"Nothing," I responded, grinning wider. "Just thinking about how lucky I am."

Leah smirked, raising an eyebrow as she pushed herself up slightly on her elbows. "Smooth, but you're not getting off that easy. What's on your mind?"

I hesitated, but the idea of the surprise I had planned flickered through my mind. I gave her a small, teasing smile. "Well, how about we go to the park today? I've got something planned."

Leah's curiosity piqued. She stretched her arms above her head, the gesture making her seem even more relaxed. "The park, huh? What kind of surprise are we talking about?"

I grinned, shaking my head. "If I told you, it wouldn't be a surprise, would it?"

She rolled her eyes but smiled anyway. "Is that even a question? I'd go anywhere with you." Her voice softened at the last part, her eyes meeting mine with affection.

The sincerity of her words made heat rise to my cheeks, a blush creeping up despite myself. Leah's eyes flickered with amusement as she noticed, and a small chuckle escaped her lips. I couldn't help but laugh along with her, but wanting to hide my embarrassment, I quickly jumped up from the bed and, with a playful smirk, scooped her into my arms.

She gasped, caught off guard, but smiled as I planted a soft kiss on her cheek. "I'd destroy the world for you," I said with mock seriousness, though there was a glint of truth in my voice.

Leah playfully slapped my arm, a sarcastic edge to her tone as she quipped, "Of course, my lord God."

We both burst into laughter, the sound filling the room like the morning sunlight spilling across her bed.

As the day moved on, we made our way to the park. I had arrived earlier, making sure everything was perfect for the moment I had envisioned. Towels were spread out on the grass, and I had set up a small table for the picnic I'd prepared. I wanted it to be just right—not too extravagant, but enough to show Leah how much I cared. I turned to see her walking towards me, the sight of her took my breath away, as it always did.

When Leah reached me, her eyes swept over the setup with an expression of soft surprise. "You really went all out, huh?" She said with a gentle smile, her hand reaching out to nudge me playfully.

I chuckled and shrugged. "It's for you," I said simply. Then, leaning in, I kissed her cheek, lingering for just a moment longer than necessary.

She blushed slightly, though her gaze stayed locked on mine. "You're too good to me," she whispered.

"Not at all," I replied with a soft smile, stepping back slightly. "Wait here. I've got something else."

Leah tilted her head, watching me with curious eyes as I walked about 20 feet away from her. I stopped and closed my eyes, letting the moment sink in before I started humming softly. The sound seemed to drift in the air around us, calm and serene. Then, without opening my eyes, I began to sing.

"It's just like breathin', speakin', When we touch, like a force of nature, Not just a feelin', let's believe it, The birth of love, like a force of nature."

As the words left my mouth, I felt the power within me stir, and I called upon it. Lightning flickered around me, soft at first, like tiny pulses of energy in the air. I opened my eyes, and Leah's expression changed from curiosity to astonishment as the energy around me grew.

"Undeniable (it's our love), Unforgettable (it's our love), Nothing compares to when I feel you on my skin."

With each note, the energy swirled around us, the clouds above darkening as though they were responding to my voice. I held out my hand, and a single bolt of lightning cracked in the distance, the sound of thunder rolling gently over us, perfectly synchronized with the melody.

"It feels so natural, natural, When we come together, Like a force of nature."

Leah's eyes widened, and I could see the tears start to pool at the edges of her eyes. She looked bewildered but awestruck, her hands trembling slightly. The spectacle was growing now—the sky darkened further, and the lightning began to dance more freely, controlled yet untamed, as it illuminated the sky above us in brilliant flashes.

"It feels so natural, natural, When we come together Like a force of nature."

I started to lift off the ground, floating effortlessly as the wind swirled around us. The storm I'd conjured wasn't wild, but perfectly controlled, creating an intimate show for Leah alone. As my voice grew louder, the energy in the air intensified. Leah wiped a tear from her cheek, her face a mixture of awe, joy, and love.

"Pure heart, deeper Beautiful, like the bluest ocean, Like a wave, we broke down The barriers, like the bluest ocean."

I floated higher, my eyes glowing with the same electric energy as the lightning swirling around me. With each verse, I poured more of myself into the moment, letting my power shine through in a way I rarely did.

"It's incredible (it's our love), Unforgettable (it's our love), Nothing compares to when I feel you on my skin."

I reached the final verse, and the energy reached its peak. The thunder roared one last time, and I floated there, my body surrounded by the raw beauty of nature's most powerful force—lightning. A single tear fell from my eye, but it wasn't a normal tear. It was a tear of lightning, glowing as it fell to the ground and sizzled into the earth, leaving a charred mark in its wake.

"Like a hurricane (it's our love), Like a hurricane (it's our love), Like a hurricane."

As I finally descended back to the ground, Leah stood there, trembling with emotion, her eyes filled with tears.

I reached out, wiping a tear from her cheek. "I wanted to give you something special," I whispered, my voice thick with emotion.

Leah looked up at me, her voice trembling as she laughed softly through her tears. "You… really know how to sweep a girl off her feet, huh?"

I smiled, pulling her into a tight embrace. We stood there, wrapped in each other's arms, as the remnants of the storm faded into the background, leaving us in the calm after the storm—together.
