ch29-Tutorial (24) End of the assassins guild

BANG

Oliver kicked the door in, what revealed itself was a long table, a singular hooded figure at the head of it, and 6 men on either side of the table.

Already having cast 20 magic missiles that were currently flying around him Oliver was ready to go.

Every one of them reacted like a seasoned professional.

None of that 'eh who are you' bullshit as they went strait into action. The guild leader, who was still covering himself with his long hood moved back, disappearing in the darkness.

The 2 assassins closest to him immediately moved themselves to block Olivers view of the guild leader as they started conjuring flames and ice in their hands respectively.

Magic study was at an incredibly barbaric level in the tutorial floor, even the lowest grade 1 spell book that sometimes floated about were undecipherable by anyone on the floor.

Which wasn't abnormal, these natives didn't have the system after all, if they truly wanted to learn these grade 1 spell books they would have to have an intuition of about 100-150, an insane amount for this floor.

The spells, or rather elements these 2 mages were conjuring was nothing more than raw magic power. So, Oliver wasn't concerned about them in the slightest.

The other 10 assassins moved in a wide circle around the table as the started preforming a pincer movement on Oliver, who just lightly smirked as he only focused on locating the guild leader.

[Blink]

Thinking he was safe the guild leader moved slowly through the shadows that were strategically placed all around the room, trying his best not to be noticed.

As someone who had led the assassins guild for over 5 decades now he was confident he wouldn't be caught by some young guy who looked less than 20.

That confidence got flushed down the toilet however once he saw that same young man disappear from within the pincer manoeuvre his vice guild leaders had set up.

'Behind me.'

Instantly he could sense a being appear behind him, he could detect his every mover as 20 or so magic missile were aimed at all his vital spots. The only dreadful part was that he had no power to stop them.

'I'm just ... too slow.'

That was the first time in his entire life he had come across such a predicament, and honestly, he felt exhilarated.

That feeling didn't last long though, as every vital spot on his body was hit multiple times with magic missiles more powerful than any magic he had ever encountered.

[Magic missile]

[Magic missile]

[Magic missile]

[Magic missile]

...

Everyone around the room, all be it trained veteran assassins of the guild, or young talented assassins, froze for a second.

The assassins guild leader, the most talented assassin of all time, had been killed. By a boy who looked no older than 18. Not only that, it happened in less than 3 seconds.

Oliver, not wanting to let this chance go immediately took action. Killing all the top assassins wouldn't be difficult for him, but catching them as they escaped, and probably killing hundreds of low level assassins on the way was going to be difficult.

Rushing over Oliver already casted another 24 magic missiles. Considering that he was putting the full 10 mana in each of them he was seriously depleting his mana reserves, but Oliver was determined to finish this quickly.

Plus, he was pretty confident in finishing these guys of with even 100 mana left, so he wasn't too worried.

The only real thread to him here was the guild leader, as he would 100% lose track of him if he started fighting the other assassins. But since he was taken care of these guys were basically on the chopping block.

Now that the assassins had regained their senses Oliver was already standing on top of the table, sending 2 magic missiles flying towards each assassin. One aimed for the head, and the other for the heart.

BOOM

BOOM

...

Countless explosions could be heard as heads started exploding, and chunky meat and skull pieces started flying all around.

"Don't think you got away with that."

Oliver said in an almost mocking and degrading tone as he shot another magic missile right over his shoulder, hitting an assassin who instantly got flung in the wall, dead.

'He had some interesting armer.'

Looking at the armer the last assassin was wearing Oliver couldn't help but complement it, as it had managed to block 1 of his magic missiles, while the assassin dodged the other.

'An armer proficient in blocking magic, that's a surprise in the tutorial, but it does seem to prohibit his speed and stealth a good bit, no wonder the guild leader didn't wear it.'

Oliver quickly lost interest in the armer as he got another notification, this one surprising him.

[Congratulations. You have changed the structure of this instance of the tutorial through your big achievement.]

[Congratulations. You have made an exceptional achievement.]

[Achievement Type: Floor Changing]

Description: Freed the natives of the tutorial kingdom from their shadow rulers.

AP +25

Oliver of course knew about Floor Changing achievements, but he could never imagined that the assassins guild played such a big role in this kingdom to warrant the achievement.

'Normally you only get this after changing the complete world you were sent to, to a point it would be almost unrecognizable. Seems like they play a bigger role in the greater tutorial world than I thought. Well, not like the natives are going to enjoy this freedom for long.'

Oliver always found this achievement type rather lacklustre, after all, after Oliver and the other challengers left the tutorial would reset, meaning that the word Changing was rather deceptive.

But o well, that wasn't his problem, so he proceeded to stroll outside the assassins guild headquarters. Not being stopped by a single assassin, even their gazes avoided him as it seems like all of them left.

'Now then, time to finish this tutorial and get some real rest.'

Now that he had destroyed the assassins guild Oliver started preparing for his final task.

Killing the Wolf King.
