An Average Divination.

*Tick* *Tock* *Tick* *Tock* *Tick* *Tock*

Looking at the client in front of himself Loki put on a professional smile, one that had no blemishes and made the person sitting opposite you feel important.

"Could you tell me why you're here today Miss Clearwater?"

Sitting opposite Loki was a girl in her seventh year, a senior who was beautiful, a Prefect, and a role model to several other girls at Hogwarts.

"Before I speak, could I ask if everything we discuss here be kept confidential?" Penelope said strictly but her trembling gaze made it clear that she was worried about something.

Loki put on his best toothless smile and tried to create a warm aura surrounding himself by using his thought manipulation skill to make her trust him more.

"Yes, Miss Clearwater, I can promise everything you divulge today will be kept strictly confidential. If you want me to I can also agree to an oath."

"*sigh* that won't be necessary. I just want to keep it a secret for a little bit and hope that it won't become gossip material for as long as I am in Hogwarts."

"You don't need to worry about that Miss Clearwater. I take my clients very seriously and if confidentiality is what you want, then that is what you shall get." Loki passionately explained with his palms on the desk.

Penelope looked into Loki's eyes for a bit as if searching for any hints of lies or deceits but finding nothing but an endless sense of confidence oozing out of him she leaned back into her chair and relaxed a little.

"So, I ask again Miss Clearwater, what are you here for?" Loki asked calmly.

"I read you're good with divinations and can tell with accuracy if I am making the right choice?"

"Ah! I must remind you Miss Clearwater, I cannot tell you the right choice, all I can tell you are the consequences of your actions. You will have to decide for yourself what is right and wrong based on my information."

Penelope gulped softly and then spoke after closing her eyes for a few seconds.

"I want to know if it is right for me to be with Percy Weasley. I feel everything is perfect right now, but there's a nagging feeling within me that keeps warning me about choosing him."

"...I see." Loki nodded but instead of responding to her worries, he extended his hand.

Penelope looked at Loki's hand with confusion for a bit but Loki's smooth voice flowed through, "I need a sickle from you, Miss Clearwater. The divination will be most accurate when I use something from you."

Penelope nodded and dug around her bag before placing a shiny silver coin in Loki's palm.

Loki closed his eyes and under his breath mumbled the following sentence seven times, starting his divination.

"Will Miss Penelope Clearwater come across any hidden troubles by choosing Percy Weasley as her significant other for this lifetime?"

Loki's eyes rolled back into his head and his eyes appeared to have turned pupilless.

That was when Loki closed his palm and tossed the coin Penelope had given him.

The coin went high into the air and flipped down slowly, sending Penelope into a trance that was only broken when the coin dropped into Loki's hands and he slapped it onto the table.

The result was a secret, one that Penelope was dying to know.

Loki's eyes rolled back into place and the mystical feeling around him vanished.

Loki slowly lifted his hand to reveal the result for the both of them.

The face of the current minister of magic.

It was heads.

Loki formed a frown on his face and declared the result, "Sorry Miss Clearwater but I think it wouldn't be ideal for you to choose Percy Weasley as your partner."

Loki hadn't said this because of which face of the coin faced up, but because of what he saw when he used dream divination.

Penelope's eyes were already teary and she seemed to be feeling hurt about the issue but before she could speak again, Loki pushed toward her a box of tissues.

"Please, relax, I know this hurts, but please calm down."

Penelope grabbed a couple of tissues and wiped her tears away, after a few seconds she choked out a sentence, "Could you tell me what the problem is so that I can prevent it from happening?"

Loki's smiling face turned into a frown as if he didn't like the question but he spoke nonetheless, "I want you to understand Miss Clearwater, one often encounters their destiny on the road they take to avoid it. Do you still want to proceed with this request?"

Penelope didn't respond, so Loki spoke again, "You could just take my advice and move on while the pain is still manageable?"

Penelope took a deep breath and tried to calm down over the next few minutes and once she did, she spoke in a soft tone, "I will Mr. Loki, but I just want to know. What about Percy did I miss that makes us not a good pair."

Loki looked into her eyes for a bit before extending his palm again.

Penelope recognised the gesture and pulled out another sickle and placed it into his palm.

"I don't often do this since it is burdensome on my spirit but I shall make an exception just for you Miss Clearwater.", Loki said and closed his eyes.

'I mean…how can I not swindle a person who's so willingly ready to throw away all their money?'

He tilted his head slightly with his eyes closed as if he was communicating with the world beyond.

His body slowly turned loose and Loki relaxed into his chair.

A few minutes passed by in silence as Loki appeared to be immersed in his vision and the moment Penelope let her back touch the chair she was sitting in, Loki opened his eyes, catching her off guard.

There was a prominent frown on his face this time, worse than when Loki had seen the result of the coin flip. This caused Penelope to feel her heart palpitate and a sinking feeling gripped her.

"What is it? What happened Mr. Loki?" Penelope asked hurriedly tapping the desk in between them.

"It's not good.", Loki revealed and paused. "From my understanding, you aren't the biggest priority in Percy's life. You are always going to be second to his ambitions, his ambitions of becoming the Minister of Magic."

"Ah…" Penelope felt her heartache at the revelation and all of a sudden as if she realised something her eyes became hollow and lost.

Looking at her condition, Loki politely stood up from his desk, left Penelope to herself and stepped onto the other side of the glass divider in the room not before pushing towards her a paper with a simple question on it.

'Do you know anything about a person named Gehrman Sparrow?'

The question was the spread awareness that he was looking for the person. The first part of the plan he had created last time.

On the other side was Hermione sitting on a desk doing her homework.

Hermione had taken work as Loki's receptionist, her aim was to prove that he was a fraud and keep a close eye on him but she hadn't been able to do either till now.

Her academic load kept her busy all the time and she barely had any chances to involve herself in Loki's divinations.

"Broke another heart Loki?" Hermione complained.

"Hey, it's not my fault that all these kids think that their first love is going to last forever!!" Loki complained in a low voice, making sure Penelope in the other room wouldn't hear their conversation.

"And why are there so many people cheating on each other in this school!? I thought wizards were less…what's the right word…less active in these sorts of things? I mean all our professors are unmarried…"

"Don't insult our professors!" Hermione almost shouted.

"You are the one who thinks it is an insult! I didn't say it was abnormal!" Loki said with a smile.

"Hmpf." Hermione just ignored Loki and went back to working on her homework.

Loki on the other hand stroked the ring on his finger that was hidden by an illusion.

'The ring of Harvest is getting hungry. I need to figure out a way to feed it quickly.'

'I can't suddenly lose my ability to perform divinations in front of Professor McGonagall now can I…'

'But how do I feed the damn thing…'

'Where does one get souls on an all-you-can-eat buffet?'

A/N : I know Penelope and Percy should've graduated, but I just wanted to use them here instead of some OC, so just ignore it for once, thank you.
