'Well,' grunted Gabriel as my eyes widened as I looked at Zuhn'thian. He was still kneeling in front of me; my arm was still in his hands as he stared down at my now healed flesh. 'I didn't see that coming.'
'I'm sorry?' asked Zuhn'thian even though his lips never so much as moved. 'Just who are you, and what are you talking about? And how do I hear your voice in my head?'
'He is Gabriel,' I said, my thoughts going to Zuhn'thian. I saw the exact moment he realized that he was hearing my voice in his head. His head shot back, and he looked at me with wide eyes. 'He is an AI being that was born when Saalistaja technology synced with my blood.'
He didn't move; he just continued to stare at me. I was beginning to worry that maybe this was too much. I don't know how we became connected or why he could hear my thoughts, but he probably didn't appreciate it.
We had only known each other for a few days, and now I was in his head.
