Ignoring my statement as if I was questioning his manhood and his ability to protect me, Ma'stbaut continued to walk forward, taking the path that was still lit up for me. I had no idea how much time had passed since I first started my descent, but it was nice to know that breakfast should still be waiting for me at the end of the yellow brick road.

 

I followed after the male, his tail still wrapped around my ankle. Not so much that it caused me to stumble, but enough for him to keep tabs on me.

 

And I found I didn't mind at all.

 

We finally got to the dining room, and I had to blink a couple of times as I stared at it. Like everywhere else in the castle but Ma'stbaut's prison, the entire room glowed blue thanks to the ice walls. There were two massive crystal chandeliers over top of the table, but that wasn't what had me shocked.
