In The Flesh

I paced back and forth in Ba'dqeel's living room as the four males watched every move I made. I put it into the back of my mind that I was still only wearing a dress, but I still didn't have any shoes or socks on. The cold from the floors seeped into my body through my feet, but I ignored it.

"Did this conversation happen before or after I asked you to have nothing to do with Bai Mei Xing and her mates?" I asked, my voice sharp even as I cringed internally. I didn't want to be like this, I knew that Midnight was Axis' brother and I didn't want to stand between the two of them.

But at the very least, please don't tell me about the conversations.

I wanted to live in a bubble, oblivious to pretty much everything… and yet, they weren't letting me.
