Chapter 39: Eywa and BOW

Eywa.

This is the Na'vi's revered name for their deity, representing the collective biological consciousness of Pandora, or its spokesperson, because "it" can link the neural units of all living beings.

On Pandora, it's not all, but more than 99% of organisms have "link interfaces," such as the braid tips of the Na'vi and Avatars.

When the protagonist was led by the Na'vi heroine to tame the banshee, the giant flying bird mount, he successfully linked with it through the tip of his braid, thereby taming it.

Even when a creature is on the brink of death, it can still upload its consciousness to Eywa, this collective "server," through a tree-like plant known as the "Tree of Souls," which acts as some kind of terminal device.

This indicates that Eywa is constantly receiving an unimaginable amount of information and data, and with such data support, consciousness naturally arises.

Before his crossing, Samuel Young found it terrifying to realize that Eywa had independent consciousness and the ability to judge things.

Through the storyline, it can be inferred that Eywa can subtly influence all biological units that have linked with "it," namely—

Protect Pandora and protect Eywa.

In the deleted scenes of the first film, scientists incited a riot in the RDA base, with all humans who had piloted Avatars participating. This is why, at the end of the film, there are those Avatars wielding firearms.

The protagonist, most influenced by Eywa, used the Tree of Souls to transfer his consciousness entirely into his Avatar, abandoning his human body and citizenship.

Leaving aside the plot armor, the RDA's military contractor team was overconfident, dismissing Eywa as nonsense, and, coupled with the protagonist's betrayal and his knowledge of all the weapons' weaknesses, along with the entire planet's creatures attacking, they met a disastrous defeat.

In the second film, Eywa even used the deceased female scientist's Avatar body to create a special hybrid named "Kiri," who could directly communicate with Pandora's flora and fauna.

Although both the first and second films ended with RDA's defeat, this didn't mean humanity's failure.

Because the regular army had never appeared, the Na'vi were only fighting a company's security team and an armed whaling ship's force.

What terrified Samuel was media revelations that the third film would feature the official appearance of humanity's military, and in the fourth and fifth films, Pandora's forces would even reach Earth.

To improve the dying environment, Eywa would "sow" itself on Earth...

This clearly indicated a race war between humanity and Pandora.

Before crossing over, Samuel's experience watching the *Avatar* series wasn't great, despite its groundbreaking visuals, detailed settings, and aesthetically pleasing human weapons. It always felt very awkward.

Especially when the protagonist slaughtered his fellow humans, Samuel didn't see it as a righteous act.

Even if the protagonist had disabilities and misanthropy, the humans in the movie, or Zero Two Universe, already had highly advanced bioengineering technology. The "villain" RDA Colonel even submitted an application to restore the protagonist's ability to walk.

However, after spending three months with the Na'vi, the protagonist voluntarily renounced his human citizenship and started killing his compatriots without any guilt. This also indirectly proved Eywa's significant influence on intelligent beings.

With these thoughts, Samuel raised his hands to touch the holographic screen, officially naming the world on the other side of the space gate Zero Two Universe and marking the planet explored by the advance team as Pandora. He then issued the latest command to the command center:

"Mobilize more engineering teams to assist in building the forward base near the space gate. Also, notify the ARS 2nd, 4th, and 5th companies, informing them to leave necessary personnel for garrison and immediately transfer the rest to the Kenya base. 

This large-scale transfer will attract attention, so have the PR department contact the stationed US military in Kenya to cooperate with ARS for a six-week joint patrol in the Kenya-Somalia-Ethiopia border area. As for the patrol targets, let them decide. Pirates, warlords, and rebels are rampant there anyway.

The activity funds should not exceed $15 million. If that Colonel Johnson demands an outrageous sum, get the Pentagon to replace the US military head in Kenya. The company has ample funds, but we won't engage in unnecessary charity.

Once the joint patrol begins, secretly transfer the elite of the three companies to our ruins base. Pandora is full of dangers, and we need sufficient armed personnel to handle emergencies."

All the staff immediately relayed a series of orders to the various departments.

Samuel continued to focus on the holographic screen and the gradually forming 3D panoramic terrain map.

The recent orders encompassed over 1,600 ARS personnel and nearly a hundred armored vehicles.

This scale of military mobilization, especially for a non-official armed force, required the best solution to avoid extensive media coverage: association with the US military.

The US military has about 300,000 soldiers deployed abroad, with over 140 bases, mainly for deterrence and maintaining international status, as well as "legitimately" extracting natural resources.

A rare example of a "just" military operation by the US military was the 1993 humanitarian rescue in Somalia in cooperation with the UN and the capture of warlord leaders.

Atlas participated in that operation, dispatching an armored company from the Kenya base for transporting US soldiers and escorting prisoners.

Thus, it was commonplace for Atlas to patrol with the US military in Kenya.

However, within Atlas, including Samuel, the US military was more of a "pass."

In the first film, the RDA had about a reinforced battalion of troops. Excluding garrison soldiers and ground and logistics personnel, there were over 500 mercenaries in the final battle.

For Atlas to explore and develop on Pandora, armed personnel were indispensable.

This also led Samuel to consider a large-scale recruitment and the development of "Bio Organic Weapons" (BOW).

Since Alexia could extract and cultivate something like the progenitor and Veronica viruses from *Resident Evil* using the flower of God, the BOW project needed to be put on the daily agenda.

But before that, he needed to recruit top biologists and chemists to alleviate Alexia and her team's pressure.

Samuel also needed to confirm the exact timeline of the Zero Two Universe to facilitate Atlas's infiltration.
