This was too much of a coincidence...

The night was silent as Lu Hanbing gently carried a barely conscious Hirvan up the stairs.

It had been quite some time since the Adelson family had stopped their surveillance. He wasn't sure what had changed, but he was grateful that the situation hadn't escalated. Now, life had finally returned to normal and there was no need to make a detour. They could come straight home.

Lu Hanbing reached the bedroom and laid Hirvan down in the bed, his movement tender.

Hirvan rolled over on the bed, burying his face in the pillow and slipping into a deeper sleep, his breathing soft and even.

Lu Hanbing let out a sigh, pulled the covers over him, and quietly exited the room.

'Who said earlier we should talk?!'

As he made his way downstairs, the silence was abruptly shattered by the harsh sound of the doorbell echoing through the house. Lu Hanbing didn't flinch.
