The Reason

Froilan stretched in the field, yawned continuously, and ran a few laps to wake him up. The servants waited for him at the door with a robe and refreshments in a tray. They treated him respectfully... or fearfully. Their hands fidget nervously and they looked at him with uncomfortable expressions.

The man stopped after ten laps. He placed his palms on his knees and took several deep breaths.

"Have you heard anything about the Prince yet?" He asks, heaving.

Sirius's ears perked.

The servants glanced warily at each other. "No, sir."

"Nothing?"

"Nothing, sir."

Froilan shook his head and sighed, irritated. "How about Alice?"

"The Prince's betrothed does not go out of the Prince's residence, so we do not see them often--"

"I told you not to call her the Prince's betrothed!" He raised his voice. The startled servant apologized hurriedly. Froilan exhaled heavily.
