Chapter 11: Decision To Marry

Yuan Renshu clenched and unclenched his fists for a couple of times before he was able to become calm.

"So this is the reason she broke up with me? She wants to get married to Li Qiang, how dare she?" He yelled out which caused Jiang Lanfen who was listening to flinch in fright.

"How dare she?" This time around it was a whisper as he stared straight into a spot.

Jiang Lanfen cried. She didn't want him to be this way. He was meant to be happy now that she had broken up with him and had take the initiative to get married to someone else.

Then why was he so angry? She couldn't help but feel somehow. She only hoped the feelings he had for her was still there or she couldn't take it.

It took a while before the heavy breathing in the room subsided. When she noticed it was safe to enter, she did so.

"Brother Renshu," she called intimately as she looked at the man who looooked disheveled after his outburst.

"I'm sorry, I hope I didn't scare you," he snapped out of his trance as he pulled her close to him.

She shook her head negatively, "no you didn't, I understand that you were just frustrated, Lanfen understands you perfectly."

"Brother Renshu, can I ask you something?" Jiang Lanfen asked in a low voice..

"You can always ask me anything," he replied. She heaved a sigh before asking,

"Do you still love me brother Renshu? I can't help but feel you are slipping away from me, I can't help it," Jiang Lanfen looked at him with misty eyes as she waited for his answer.

She and Yuan Renshu grew up together in an orphanage. Their lives were connected with each other and she had always relied heavily on him.

It won't be a lie to say she was addicted to him. She could not do without him. If ever he says he doesn't like her, then she would not know how to feel.

Habit they say was really bad. It will be difficult to avoid such habits.

Yuan Renshu was stunned she asked such a question. He would never have expected it from her.

"What are you saying? Are you out of your mind? Do you hear the nonsense you are spewing from your mouth?" He lashed out at her immediately.

"You can lash out at me later, I just want to know if you still truly love me, Xin Yan is very beautiful, she's ethereal, just like a goddess, it will be hard for you to not develop feelings for her, so is it bad for me to want to know?"

Jiang Lanfen cried out. She choked in between every sentence she uttered and her cries affected him.

"Silly girl, why do you ask such a thing? You know that you are the only one I love, you have been with me for a very long time, I love you so much."

At the end of the day, he could not stand her tears as he embraced her in a bid to comfort her.

"You are the only one I love, you are the one I want to spend the rest of my life with, this was the promise I made to you while we were still at the orphanage and I'm a man of my words."

Yuan Renshu reassured her and she nodded while still in his embrace.

"I know you love me, but I can't help but feel scared, you have been around her for a long time, I know I should trust you but this is the feelings of a woman in love, it's just too complicated," she complained, airing her grievances to him.

Yuan Renshu sighed tiredly. Indeed, it was hard to understand the thoughts of a female.

He held her face in his hands as he looked into her eyes.

"I, Yuan Renshu promise you that you are the only one I love, the only one I will get married to, how about we go to the bureau today to get our marriage certificates?" Yuan Renshu seriously declared which stunned her.

"Bureau? Marriage certificate?" She asked in surprise, her tears even stopping at the same time.

"Yes," Yuan Renshu nodded solemnly.

"Are you serious?" She asked once more. She didn't want him to regret it. She might be evil but there was only one person she cared about and that was the person sitting in front of her.

"Don't doubt me, we can get married," he didn't like seeing her doubtful look.

"But if we get married, won't it affect our plans?" She asked with a frown.

Yes, she needed a sense of security but she still wanted their plans to be successful. She only needed him to profess his love to her, she really didn't need to get married. It was too much but apparently, Yuan Renshu had other plans.

"I know you are worried about me, therefore, this is the reason our marriage would be a secret, after our plans are successful, I would give you a befitting wedding as you are my queen," he bopped her nose which caused her to feel shy.

"Then, I agree to marry you brother Renshu," she agreed with a shy smile.

At a café, two assistants were seated glaring at each other.

"Isn't this childish? Why can't you just apologize?" Gao Yang who was Li Qiang's assistant sneered at the lady who had her cheeks puffed up in an unladylike manner.

"I should apologize? Ridiculous!" Chen Wenling spat which caused the male to grimace in disgust.

"Who was the one that bumped into me? You still have the guts to act righteous, bah!" Chen Wenling scoffed with folded arms.

"I wonder how Miss Xin Yan got an unruly assistant such as you, it must be hard for her," Gao Yang shook his head in pity.

"I also wonder how President Li got such an assistant, not only are you rude, you don't even know how to behave with ladies," Chen Wenling copied his act of shaking his head in pity as she did that also.

The tension between the both of them began to rise as no one said a word. This was the situation in which Xin Yan and Li Qiang who had just arrived met them.
