Do You Want To Be A Hero? (10) | Found It

DING DONG! DING DONG!

The school bell rang sharply, signaling the end of another school day.

Students poured out of classrooms in a wave of noise and chatter, heading in various directions. Some hurried to their club activities, while others began their journey home with the 'Go Home' club.

Among the crowd, Izuku made his way to the school corridor as a member of the 'Go Home' club as well. His thoughts, however, were focused on something more pressing...

As he proceeded his way out of the school premise...

"Midoriya-kun! Please wait!" Sora-sensei's voice called out to him, halting him mid-step.

The hallway, once bustling with students, was now quieter, save for the occasional echo of footsteps.

"Midoriya-kun," Sora-sensei said, her tone carrying a note of concern, "do you happen to know where Bakugou-san is?"

Izuku turned to face her. There was a pause between them... before he nonchalantly shrugged.

"Sorry, Sora-sensei, I don't know where Katsuki is..." He replied to her question, but trailing off at the end.

Sora-sensei's brow furrowed slightly upon hearing his words... though she didn't press further.

"I see... Well, if you do come across her, could you please convince her to head home?" She requested his help, "Both us teachers and her parents have been looking for her, but we haven't been able to locate her whereabouts either..."

Again, there was a silence as both Izuku and Sora-sensei locked eyes, more so from Sora-sensei as she tried to read something in his gaze to her...

Izuku then gave a casual nod, "Sure, if I see her, I'll let her know."

With that, Izuku resumed his walk out toward the exit of the school, leaving Sora-sensei standing alone in the empty corridor.

She watched his retreating figure with a mix of concern and curiosity.

'Midoriya-kun and Bakugou-san...' She contemplated their relationship in her mind, remembering the odd and awkward dynamics between them.

They had always been a bit unconventional since their first year of high school and as the two of her students whom she had closely observed under her homeroom guidance.

The current situation only deepened her unease.

'What could possibly be going on between them...?' Sora-sensei wondered, her concern deepening as the last of the students dispersed. She was left alone in the empty corridor, her worry lingering in the silence.

The school hallway now echoed with the quiet of the end of the day.

Izuku walked through the evening streets of Musutafu City, his search proving somewhat fruitless as the hours ticked by.

Though he'd spotted a few interesting leads, nothing had panned out yet. He occasionally checked his smartphone, searching for something he had been hunting since this morning.

While he hadn't found what he was looking for, he did stumble upon something—or rather someone—that might have potential. He would need to investigate further to see if 'she' had the potential to access the 'far beyond'...

The Land of Light.

Still... his thoughts were also preoccupied with someone else...

A particular girl, his childhood friend Bakugou Katsuki, had been on his mind ever since their intense clash in homeroom that morning.

The memory of Katsuki's frustrated shouts echoed in his mind.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Deku, you idiot!"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Her anger and the tears that had almost spilled from her eyes... they had been troubling him ever since.

Even though he maintained a composed exterior, inside? He was a bit torn.

He still questioned if what he'd said to her was right or if he had made things worse... The pain in her eyes had been genuine, and it troubled him deeply.

As the city's busy streets gave way to quieter, more isolated areas, Izuku ventured toward a less frequented part of Musutafu. He headed for a tunnel beneath one of the city's larger urban bridges, an area that saw little activity.

Normally, it was odd for someone to come here, but... Izuku was deliberate in his choice. He checked his smartphone once again, trying to pinpoint his location and the location of what he had been searching for...

"It's around here somewhere..." he muttered to himself, scanning the dimly lit tunnel with a sense of purpose.

Just as he was about to move further into the tunnel, the manhole cover he had passed by shifted slightly. Izuku's attention snapped to it.

A green sludge-like substance began to ooze out from beneath the manhole's cover, seeping through the air vents in thick, dark green streams... The substance slowly coalesced, forming a humanoid but monstrous figure that began to take shape...!

"What a nice body you've got there, kid..." The sludge-creature said to him with a deep, ominous voice. Its grotesque eyes scanned Izuku's body from the top of his green wild hair to the bottom edge of his red sneakers.

The sludge-villain even smirked with its ugly, monstrous mouth and teeth, as if confirming its thoughts.

Izuku, on the other hand... seemed unfazed by the sludge-villain's sudden appearance and ominous tone. He merely turned around and looked at the sludge-villain with a pensive gaze, as if assessing the creature's presence.

Then, Izuku also smirked as HE himself confirmed his own thoughts.

"Found you," Izuku uttered toward the sludge-villain, which was taken aback by the strange reaction from the young high school boy.

The sludge-villain had expected the boy to be terrified... but instead, it seemed that Izuku was the one that had been searching for it...!

"I don't know what the hell you're going on about, kid..." the sludge-villain said to Izuku, "... but let me borrow your body for a moment!" It snarled as it expanded its sludge body wide to attempt to capture Izuku.

But Izuku simply stepped back, avoiding the sludge-villain's grasp with ease.

"What?!" The sludge-villain growled in surprise, missing the high school boy entirely. It then saw that Izuku was a few meters away, still smirking.

Seeing Izuku's nonchalant attitude only served to anger the villain. "Hold still, you little brat...!" It threatened as it began to trudge toward Izuku with its sludge body.

Suddenly, Izuku raised his right hand into the air.

The sludge-villain, seeing this strange action, stopped in its tracks. It immediately thought the boy was about to use his own quirk, noticing an equally strange digitized aura beginning to surround Izuku's hand.

"Fighting back, aren't you?" The sludge-villain said, preparing to intercept whatever Izuku was about to do—!

CLANG!

However, their confrontation was interrupted by something else entirely!

The manhole cover that the sludge villain had emerged from was busted open from below, with the cover itself sent flying!

Both Izuku and the sludge-villain looked back toward the manhole entrance, and emerging from it was a large, muscular blonde man...!

All Might!

"Fear not, young man...! I AM HERE!"
