"Tell me we're not too late, please." Maria chuckled

Her gaze darted to the figures that were positioned around the ground.

"Speaking of coming late…" the yomigaeri turned its head towards Kai and Ryu.

"You should have been here about fifteen minutes ago," it said, its eyes flicking towards the watch on its wrist.

"Alas, it seems the lady I sent to deliver my message ran away instead of fulfilling her duty," it continued, "well… you are here now."

In an instant, Kai's mind was consumed by the memory, the scene replaying in vivid detail.

The woman, the look of terror frozen on her face as the yomigaeri feasted upon her.

"You!" Kai screamed.

"Oh my," the ypmigaeri gasped, it seemed divine judgement got to her before she could deliver my message."

"You were able to kill my subordinate," it sighed, "well I'm not surprised. That fool has never taken anything serious in his existence."
