It responded, "My subordinate failed," with a tone as cool as ice and an unfazed expression as it walked by its mate.

"You went there, didn't you? So why didn't you bring them with you?" The obnoxious one demanded, its voice dripping with contempt.

"That is not your concern," the sinister being snaps, its gaze unwavering, the sibilance of its words a violent hiss.

"You weakling Hawk, you couldn't even bring in two measly humans," it spits, its body language exuding an unspoken challenge.

With its patience wearing thin, Hawk turns to face the annoying yomigaeri, ready to strike with its claws.

However, before it could make an attack, a soft, silky voice interrupts the building tension with a knife-like sound.
