(2) Chapter 2: Annihilation

Before the thug could me a noise was heard of something crashing or dropping. "What was that!" Their attention was diverted from. Getting cautious and ready to fight they all pull out their guns. "Who's there, show yourself."

*Boom

Unexpectedly the cut off, the cold air inside the dark, abandoned warehouse clung to every surface, thick with an unsettling stillness.

The only sound was the muffled whimpers of Suoh, bound to a chair at the center of the vast, empty space, his wide eyes darting around in terror. The armed thugs paced nervously, their fingers twitching on the triggers of their guns, unaware of the true horror lurking just beyond the shadows.

Without warning, a bone-chilling hum filled the air, making the hairs on the thugs' necks stand on end. The temperature plummeted further, icy breath escaping their lips as frost crept over the metal barrels and crates. The flicker of broken lights seemed to dance with a malevolent energy, casting twisted shadows across the cold, concrete floor.

From the darkness, Tia and Med emerged.

The first thug barely had time to scream as someone descended upon him with unnatural speed. His eyes widened in terror before his neck was snapped with a sickening crunch, his scream dying in his throat as his lifeless body crumpled to the ground. Blood sprayed across the floor, staining the frost with a vivid red as the others looked on in horror.

Another curse followed, letting out a guttural roar that echoed through the warehouse. The thugs opened fire in a desperate attempt to defend themselves, but their bullets seemed to do little more than anger the monstrous curse. Curse tore into them with terrifying brutality, her claws ripping through flesh and bone, sending blood and viscera splattering across the walls. The sickening sounds of tearing flesh and breaking bones filled the air, mingling with the panicked screams of the dying.

Chaos erupted as the remaining thugs tried to flee, their terror overwhelming them. One man, trembling and drenched in sweat, stumbled over the bodies of his comrades, his breath coming in ragged gasps. But the curse was faster. She appeared behind him, her eyes glowing with a predatory hunger. His scream echoed through the warehouse as she sank her fangs into his throat, tearing it out with a savage jerk. Blood gushed from the wound, painting the floor in a gruesome display of red.

Another thug, desperate to escape, was caught by curse hand. He screamed in agony as she crushed his skull with a single, brutal squeeze, the sound of bone cracking like dry wood reverberating through the warehouse. Blood and brain matter oozed from the man's shattered head, dripping onto the cold floor as his body went limp.

I, still bound to the chair, could only hear in sheer terror as the slaughter unfolded around me as the lights were off. The warehouse, once silent, was now filled with the macabre symphony of death—screams, the crunch of bones, and the sickening splatter of blood. The air reeked of iron, the thick, metallic scent of blood mingling with the cold, damp odor of the abandoned building.

Finally, it was over. The last thug, a trembling mess of fear and desperation, tried to crawl away, but she was upon him in an instant. His final, desperate scream was cut short as she drove her claws into his chest, ripping out his heart in a spray of blood. She let his lifeless body fall to the ground, the still-beating heart held in her hand, dripping with blood.

The warehouse fell silent once more, now a gruesome tomb filled with the mangled bodies of those who had dared to cross the curses. Blood pooled on the cold concrete floor, the only movement the slow drip of crimson from the lifeless forms.

Both curses turned their attention to me as the light began to blink, their eyes gleaming with a dark, malevolent intent. I, trembling and splattered with the blood of his captors, felt a cold dread settle in my chest. A thought arises in my mind as I look at them, dripping in blood from head to toe. 'They are not harming me….? Did I speak too soon?'

Suddenly she started to move in my direction which terrified me, I anticipated now was my end but nothing happened to me. Her next action surprised me as she freed me from all the restraints.

'What the hell is that? This interface?' Suoh thought, his heart pounding as a strange interface materialized before his eyes, visible only to him. The screen displayed information that left him bewildered, much of it incomprehensible for now.

Med, sensing the sudden shift, instinctively took a fighting stance as a wave of heavy curse energy leaked from Suoh, seemingly out of nowhere. "Boy, what's with that crazy curse energy!" Med's voice was tense, his eyes narrowing with suspicion.

Tia, standing beside him, remained calm, though her curiosity was piqued. "Are you an exorcist, Suoh?" she asked, her tone measured, even as she subtly increased her own curse energy output, testing the waters.

Their questions snapped Suoh out of his daze. The tension in the room was suffocating, and the throbbing headache that pounded in his skull made it hard to think. The powerful sensation coursing through his body felt like an unstoppable force, overwhelming and relentless.

"I don't know anything… I can't explain it in words," Suoh finally managed to say, his voice strained. "But something happened to me just now… like a light switch turned on inside me."

Tia's eyes narrowed, her calm exterior masking the deepening curiosity and caution within her. She exchanged a quick glance with Med, whose stance remained defensive, muscles tense and ready to strike at any moment.

"What do you mean, a light switch?" Tia pressed, her voice still calm but with an edge of urgency. "Are you saying this power is new to you?"

Suoh's breathing grew heavier as the sensation inside him intensified. He clutched his head, struggling to find the right words. "I don't know how to explain it... It's like... something inside me just woke up. I've never felt anything like this before."

Med took a step forward, his aura crackling with barely contained curse energy. "You expect us to believe you just suddenly unlocked this kind of power? Without even knowing what it is?"

Tia raised a hand to stop Med from advancing further, her eyes still locked on Suoh. "This isn't the time to jump to conclusions," she said, her voice carrying a warning. "Suoh, focus. What exactly happened? Can you describe it?"

Suoh blinked, trying to put the experience into words, but the more he tried to focus, the more his headache intensified, his vision blurring. "I... I can't... It's all just... too much."

Tia's expression softened slightly, though her gaze remained sharp. "It could be a heavenly restriction," she murmured, almost to herself.

Med's frustration simmered just beneath the surface, but he held his ground, waiting for Tia's lead. "So, what's the plan, Tia? We can't just let this slide."

"We won't," Tia replied, her voice firm. "But first, we need to get Suoh out of here before anything else happens. If he can't control this power, it could become a threat to all of us."

Suoh nodded weakly, his strength fading fast. "I'll try... But I don't know how to stop it if it gets worse."

Tia stepped closer, placing a reassuring hand on Suoh's shoulder.

Med, still tense but less hostile, nodded in agreement. "Let's move. We need to get somewhere safe before that energy draws more attention."

But before they could take another step, Suoh's vision darkened, the overwhelming sensation finally taking its toll. His legs gave out beneath him, and he collapsed, unconscious, ending the conversation abruptly. Tia caught him before he hit the ground, her expression turning serious.

"Damn it," Med muttered, glancing around. "We've got to move, now."
