Advancements and the End of the World

As planned, some parts of Los Angeles, like many parts of the country, were bombed with napalm. The streets ignited, and hundreds of thousands of walkers were turned to ashes.

However, now that Dominic had power, he couldn't let those idiot military personnel destroy his future domain, so he took them down. He sent numerous attack helicopters to intercept the bombers, used drones, and shot down all helicopters that refused to obey orders.

In just a few months, Dominic had managed to seal the main entrances of the city so that he could reclaim it in the future and take advantage of its strategic location.

Throughout the city, military deserters joined his ranks, and military bases on the brink of collapse also joined Dominic, who was pulling the strings to gain even more power.

In a short time, he had become probably the most powerful person in the country, with thousands of soldiers at his disposal who saw their future in serving him.

Even the CRM did not adapt as well as Dominic did, so he had to be much quicker to gain ground and eliminate potential future enemies.

"Attention!"

"Salute!"

In a warehouse, there were around a thousand elite soldiers. All of them were from special forces or commando groups like the Green Berets, Navy SEALs, and police who had adapted well to the world.

The military uniforms they wore were completely black, every part of their bodies covered, and their helmets prevented their faces from being seen.

The elite of the elite, the best of the best, were now gathered in one place.

They all stood before Daniel, who was the leader of all the military power, but at this moment, the person they mostly believed to be the leader was saluting another man.

"Salute our supreme leader, the man who made all this possible... Salute the leader of this resistance, the Librarian."

Dominic stood before them all, removed his helmet, and revealed his face. "I can say that right now we have reached a moment of tranquility, so I feel the need to reveal my true face."

"As you all know, sometimes appearance tends to be related to existential doubt. Many of you have seen the world out there; I have too, and I can tell you it is more terrifying than it seems."

Pausing, Dominic said, "I am the leader of this resistance, and you will all obey if you want to see a new dawn. Remember this: I am not here just to be a leader and sit in a safe place. I am here to serve humanity; you will not work for me but for the people who depend on us."

"Now, our fight is for humanity and our future; remember to follow the rules, and everything will go as we wish. And from this place, I tell you, glory to humanity." Dominic placed his hand on his chest, saluting his elite soldiers.

"Glory to humanity!"

Everyone had memorized Dominic's face, which had lost all traces of youth. Now his gaze commanded more respect than fear, and that was exactly what he sought.

A few days later, an oil station was located fifty kilometers from Santa Catalina Island.

"We're dead; no one is coming for us." A group of men was trapped at the oil station because they stayed there when everything exploded.

The trips to this location were canceled, and when evacuation was attempted, many started eating each other.

"Did you hear that?"

"A helicopter, are they coming here?"

Bang! Bang! Bang!

In an instant, an elite group arrived at the oil station and began exterminating the walkers as easily as breathing.

"Don't shoot; we are not like them."

"Are you from the Navy?"

The commanding soldier removed his mask, revealing his face, and said, "The Navy has been restructured; we have managed to recover 60% of our maritime power, but we are still working. We will need your help to extract resources from this base; can you do it?"

"Yes, we can, as long as we can eat."

"Don't worry, you will now be protected." Stuart smiled and signaled for these people to follow him. They were all impressed to see numerous warships just a few kilometers from the station, and only then did they know they were in good hands.

At least the country had not fallen into the hands of the walking dead.
