Solving the Issues of the Town

Shuna had laughed when Rimuru left, only to realise that she would need to help me in my work. Her aura turned bright red and black, I followed suit and let me power waft out... I wanted the blue haired bastard to know how I felt even if it was distantly. Unfortunately he was already far away, his speed apparently unmatched when it came to shirking responsibility off onto me.

Let's just say that It was not funny, I didn't laugh and that my day was ruined irrevocably. After I had breakfast and finished kissing Shuna I was presented another dress by Shuna, one made of silk and coloured purple. It was a simple design but as per the last design it shifted colours based on the time of day and regenerated my MP passively. 

"It's beautiful... Not as much as you but that's impossible to achieve." Shuna turned bright pink and red, her face becoming cherry-like as she lightly smacked my shoulder and ran down the stairs as if to run away from her embarrassment. I chuckled at how easy she was to tease and slowly stood up. My legs were still a touch shaky but it was nothing some walking couldn't handle.

I went to the bathroom, took a shower and quickly put my dress on. Stepping downstairs not but a minute later I noticed that the entire bottom floor was empty except for Shuna. Apparently the other Kijin had chosen new houses based off of their contributions in the fighting including the aid they rendered to Rimuru. He had initiated a 'credit' style system where everyone gets a certain amount per day but more could be gained depending on the amount of work you do, the aid you rendered to the nation etc... It felt similar to how money would work but also different enough that it was something new. There were still a lot of problems with the system so I would have to fix it. To be honest I would have preferred a currency but all well, this'll have to work.

Shuna was waiting for me and quickly followed after as I headed towards the main hall. The Town was much greater in activity as Orcs, Lizardmen, Ogres and Goblins all moved around within. Apparently Benimaru had sent some messages to close by Ogre tribes that had been on the outskirts of his family's previous influence. Thinking on that, wasn't Gazef going to come to test Rimuru's character?

'Oh for fuck's sakes...' 

Stepping into the main hall I saw that it was filled with many Hob Goblins and other species all wishing to speak to me about various issues. Along with all of them was also Milim who was looking around, searching for her bestie of course. I coughed loudly and spoke out into the room, catching everyone's attention.

"Rimuru has gone away for a few days to sort some matters out... In the mean time I will be taking over decisions for him. Meetings will begin in ten minutes, please have your issues sorted out and any needed paperwork or explanations ready. Milim, could you please follow me?" She smiled and jumped up, her cute actions drawing the attention of many people in the room. They all knew she was the Demon Lord Milim so they were excited that we were on a friendly basis with her.

Milim followed behind me and Shuna, the child-like demi-dragon smiling and tilting her head side to side as we entered the main office, Rimuru's office. I had the urge to facepalm as I saw that there were several stacks of paper ready for him to sign and hand off... 

'No wonder you left you little bastard.' He was very responsible most of the time but it seems that now he had a girlfriend and had me as his 'co-ruler' he was more willing to dump work on people. 

'I just had to let him have a relationship... Huuu...' Shuna, as if understanding my pain patted my back despite the lack of emotion I showed on my face. I stepped up to and behind the desk, sitting down on the rather basic upholstered chair. It was uncomfortable but would do for now, we were still in the founding stage of the nation.

Milim sat opposite me whilst Shuna sat off to the side. Some staff came in and asked if I wanted any beverages, Shuna requested some tea, I requested Coffee, Milim ordered honey tea. Apparently Hakuro had showed her the abilities of Honey and that it could be used in drinks to make it more tasty. The agricultural uses of Honey were many as well as the Industrial, it was an area that I wanted to expand even further as most of our honey came from wild sources. Once the staff went to go acquiesce to our orders I began to speak.

"Milim, thank you for saving me in the fight a couple days ago." I bowed my head somewhat, showing respect. Milim just laughed again her chest puffing out despite the presence of any cleavage. 

"Of course nano-da!" Shuna chuckled at the way in which she spoke but held decorum. 

"Anyway, I wanted to ask you if you wished to stay here." She stopped laughing and beamed a smile, it was obvious what she would say so I also smiled. "The answer is yes, okay, well, welcome to the Jura Tempest Federation. You are welcome to stay here so long as your my friend and Rimuru's Bestie."

"Besties!" She shouted out and jumped around a little, her child-like excitement making me grin uncontrollably. With that I took a piece of paper and put it down on the table. I winced as I noticed the length of the text, it was a very long document about the import and export of the Federation. Along with it came a one hundred page report on the conditions of the Agricultural Industry, The Logging Industry, The Mining Industry and lastly the Products Industry. It was a lot and would most likely take me many hours to red through it and understand it, normally.

'Rip-off, I mean, Morgan, Can you please inform me if its possible to make spells with relation to auto-imprinting information from paper into my brain?'

|Possible, strenuous for normal brains. However, because of your Unique Skill you will be able to easily file and document each piece of Information. Your brain is affectively a library with an almost infinite capacity.|

My eyes started to gleam, Shuna and Milim noticing it. Shuna was intrigued and gazed on intently whilst Milim jumped up and ran over to the desk. "What did you find out! Is it interesting? Is it a new combat skill!?" She was very excitable and thought everything was focussed on combat or asserting dominance over people.

"No Milim, I just found a way to get rid of all of this paperwork whilst completing my job." Milim sprang fire from her hands and cocked her head, looking at the stack of paper.

"I already had that though..." She seemed bummed and was getting closer and closer to burning down the paperwork I had to do. Shuna stood up and walked over to Milim, taking her by her shoulders. "Thank you for trying to help Milim-san, I think its better if Silviana does it."

Milim seemed mildly confused but nodded as she just seemed happy to be able to go back to her honey. I nodded at Shuna and wiped my forehead a little, despite no sweat being present. That would have been great, all of the paperwork burnt in the first day... Ignoring that thought I closed my eyes and created the image of what I would have to do to start the information imprinting. It would require me to see the paper not even the words, I would of course need Magicules and it would look like a small silver glow as it occurred. Then, the information would enter my brain where it was stored into books for instant recall of all of the information.

I opened my eyes and looked at the 100 pages in front of me and cast the spell. In only a few moments I knew the entire status of the Town's industries as well as the in-depth information on the crops being farmed.

 I signed off on the papers and added some recommendations for crop rotations and methods of mining recorded in my mind. I also made it a necessity to be poison resistant to become a miner. From there I explained the process of removing some tree to allow for other tree and foliage to grow, hoping to take some burden off of the Dryads and allow them to focus on other aspects of the forest such as the growth of new parts and the expansion of boons.

Along with that I also understood the current necessities with regards to production. Namely forging, cloth making, weaving, cooking and some other basic jobs were on the agenda. I outlined the necessary movements between the different sections of society before putting it onto an empty space on the right side of the desk. From there I had an easy time as I just gave answers and signed my name on it, putting it to the right of table. Finally, after 10 minutes was up all of the paper was completed and was ready to be distributed to the relevant people.

"Please bring in the first person!" I yelled out loudly to the staff member that would most likely be standing out front. I was right to shout out as in the next second someone was let through. It was Kaijin actually, he was dressed rather well with a snazzy jacket and undershirt made of thick cotton. Winter had started and now the breeze was very cool so his clothing was very appropriate. 

"Silviana-dono, how's your day?"

"Good Kaijin, what can I do to help you today?"

He sat down on the opposite side of the desk and took out some papers, I activated the spell and instantly read it. It was a message from the adventurers that were with Shizu, asking to be able to hunt monsters in the area. It also came with an official request from the Kingdom of Blumund.

"You can tell them that they have permission in the short term and that once Rimuru returns we will come back to the topic." He looked surprised but nodded with a smile.

"Thank you, we needed more materials to make magical weaponry and armour." I frowned a little and considered the issue. The Mining industry was just starting out and it was mainly focussing on sustainability so it won't be able to supply a massive scale of resources straight away. Trading would need to be a focus.

"I see... Here, give me a minute and I'll hand you something, give this to the Adventurers and ask them to deliver it to the king or someone who can take it to the king." He seemed a little stunned at the importance I was placing on this but didn't complain and calmly waited for me.

I started formally and requested for a non-aggression pact, mainly implying a trade relationship in future if aggression could be abstained. I wanted to mainly get help from Dwargon as they were very powerful and that can cause a lot of people to reconsider fucking with us, Blumund was a small Kingdom and had less of a threat to larger nations. This would be a good start to relations though. At the end of the letter I also put the details of a neutral meeting point, on the border between the Great Forest of Jura and their nation.

"Here, give this to the adventurers and hand them some food and materials as recompense. Tell them that they are to get it to a higher up of Blumund, preferably the King, and then they are complete in their task."

"Yes Silviana-Dono, I will make sure that I give it to them." I nodded and stood up, taking him to the exit of the office and sending him off. He was the partner of Iralia and a friend so I wasn't going to treat him like a subordinate all the time. It was at this stage our beverages came in and we started to relax, the next person stepping in.

Today was going to be a long day...
