The Blood Complex

After a few contemplation, Kim Seijin stepped forward, the glass jar held tightly in his hands.

He watched as the scientists completed yet another scan of Seung's vitals, their focus intensely fixed on the readings. The tall scientist with salt-and-pepper hair finally looked up and met Seijin's gaze, a mixture of weariness and urgency in his eyes.

"How long can you keep him from entering full cardiac arrest?" Seijin asked, his voice steady but edged with underlying tension.

The scientist checked the monitors again, taking a quick inventory of the tubes, IVs, and equipment set up to support Seung. "If we're efficient, we can keep him stable for around thirty minutes, but the margin's tight." He exchanged a look with his colleagues, who nodded in silent understanding, then turned back to Seijin. "We'll do everything possible to hold that window open."
