Huo Yingjie and Grandma Wang looked at each other.
Grandma Wang squinted her eyes, grieving the loss of her husband and a life without children of her own, though she was particularly fond of them. She was furious to hear someone mistreating a child.
"This child might not be theirs, could be a kidnapped or a trafficked child," Grandma Wang said. "Yingjie, go take a look, and if something seems off, report it to the police. The next station is Nan City; we should nab them first for questioning. If it's a misunderstanding, we'll reimburse their train fare; but if they're truly bad people, we're doing a good deed."
"Okay, I'll go check it out now," Huo Yingjie was about to leave but was stopped by Grandma Wang.
"Wait!" Grandma Wang halted him. "After you get off the train and hand those two over to the police station, come back. Tiantian and I will take the child off the train without problem."
