"So, uh, can I have my dagger back?" Rowan said to the hulking alpha. "You mean this toothpick?" Draven said, tossing the weapon back to Rowan. "What did you even hope to accomplish with this?" Draven continued to tease the teenager, "So how do you know each other?" Rowan asked, glaring at Draven for his comment. "I'm friends with his wife," Selena explained with a shrug. "How did Zarek get her and your brat?" Selena asked, "I don't know, a week ago they just went missing. I've sent the pack out looking for them every day since, and a couple hours ago Zarek showed up claiming he had them." Draven explained that he was frustrated with his situation. "Dammit, what is that Warlock up to?" Selena wondered out loud.
"Whatever it is, it's not good." Draven growled out, "There's nothing more for you here unless you've changed your mind about the boy," he said, raising an eyebrow in mock confusion. "NO." Selena yelled, blushing. Rowan just looked confused. "You know she was going to fight the whole pack for you, kid?" Draven chuckled. "What?" Rowan gasped in surprise. "You are a weak and puny human, while she is a fiercesome and beautiful hunter and warrior. I can make you a strong warrior," he added with a smile. "Shut it, dog." Selena snapped, "You're not getting your nasty mouth on him." Draven just laughed at Selena and said, "I wasn't serious. It was just a joke; he's too scrawny to be a good werewolf." "HEY!" Rowan and Selena both shouted at Draven.
"But really, what are you going to do about your family?" Selena asked seriously. "I don't know, but I will get them back no matter what," he said, determined. "Zarek will be here tomorrow for the boy; my pack will fight him," he added. "If you fight him, you have to kill him or your family will suffer," Selena says. "I know," he responds. "Let me help," Selena offered. "The council is after him, so I can call it in and get help; we will just need to keep the part of you kidnapping Rowan out of it," she added. "I'm not a kid," Rowan complained. "Fine," Draven said. "Then it's settled." Selena agreed, pulling out her phone to make some calls to the council.
The sun rose up shining lights though the broken windows of the old building as the two figures entered the abandoned place. "Alright, I've got everything set up. They will try to set up a trap for Zarek. If it does fail, they will have a couple teams of trackers and scouts set up to try and follow him," Selena informs Draven. "Now we are going to go home and catch some sleep," she added, yawning. "Oh, and the Council wants to speak with you before Zarek arrives," Selena tells the towering figure in front of her as she leaves with Rowan to go back to the apartment.
The soft sunlight crept over Selena's sleeping body, a hand lazily draped over her head to block out the afternoon sun. Her tanned skin glowed with the rays that splayed across it. She was dressed in only a pair of sleeping shorts and a tank top. A soft moan escapes her lips as she stirs from her sleep, blinking away the last remnants of sleep. Her head rolls to one side as she stretches out her muscles, a low groan escaping her lips as they pop and flex from the strain. Her eyes found Rowan sitting on the couch, his eyes drawn to her from her stretching. Selena's lips curl into a soft smile as she meets his gaze, his cheeks immediately turning red. "Like the view?" her voice ruffled from sleeping. "Shut up," Rowan muttered, quickly turning away, causing her to chuckle softly. "Need a cold shower?" she added, teasing him with a smirk, sitting up in her tank top, riding up her body, and showing off her toned abs as she stretched her arms above her head. "Haha, very funny," Rowan huffed, his eyes stealing a glance at her exposed skin.
"Come on, get up. We have a meeting to get to," she said, getting up from her bed and going to her closet to get one of her suits. "A meeting?" he repeated, his interest piqued. "With the pack and everyone helping to get Zarek tonight," She informed him, heading into the bathroom and getting dressed. Rowan was already dressed and waiting on the couch. "Ready," she said as she came out of the room, suited up and pulling her hair up in a tight ponytail. Rowan couldn't resist his eyes roaming her body in the tight-fitting outfit. "Rowan," Selena said, her eyes gazing at him with a sweet and longing look in her eyes. "We need to have a talk after this is over," she said. "About what?" Rowan asked, his eyebrows drawing together in confusion. "Us," she muttered, looking away from his gaze and heading out the door to her car. "Let's go."
A long, silent drive goes by as Rowan contemplates what she meant by 'us.' The two of them finally arrive at the meeting location. An old barn house is filled with people as Selena drives up. They walk inside together as a hush falls over the crowd of people. Selena recognized two elves as the wooden bees, all healed up from the previous vampire encounter. "Alright, we have a plan set out, and we need the trackers and scout team to be ready when Zarek is spotted by the wolf pack," Selena called out to the group. "Once the werewolf pack engages, Zarek will run; he wouldn't have a have a chance fighting them all by himself. When that happens, we need to be ready to trap him or follow him back to his base." Selena briefed the crew on all the information. Everyone seemed to understand their jobs as they split off to be ready when Zarek showed up.
