Chapter 139 Meeting (2)

Kumogakure.

The whole village seemed to be in a state of absolute shock, hardly people on the streets and the few who walked around carrying expressions of despair, frustration and anger.

Near the entrance of the village the large area used as a battlefield was still not repaired as kumo was facing severe lack of manpower, around three thousand shinobi were reduced to a state even weaker than civilians and due the short war against konoha kumo had lost other shinobi as well.

Roughly the remaining force in the village was around four thousand which was a number even less than Sunagakure, the weakest of the five great shinobi villages.

Kumogakure who had the potential to replace konoha from the number one throne was thrown way back in a matter of days, all due the man named Yoriichi Tsugikuni, the most hated person in the land of lightning.

Raikage Office.

The remaining top combat power of the village was gathered in the office again as eyes of everyone on Ai and Dodai who after a few days finally seemed ready to talk, accepting the cruel reality that they were now even weaker than a genin and probably had to live like this for the rest of their lives.

"The jutsu he uses to strip chakra is a combination of light and shadow release… the jutsu forms a barrier in the shape of a red moon around the main chakra source for this jutsu and for what that chakra source is although I couldn't see it but during the jutsu I remember hearing screams from within the red moon… so it's definitely a person being used as the fuel for this jutsu…"

"We of Kumo are not the only ones who he will target, his plan which he calls project shinobi eclipse is to strip chakra from every single person in this world…"

Dodai who had few strips of white hair among the many black was the one giving the explanation about everything that happened instead of Ai, he was the one who had conversed the most with Yoriichi and was the last one conscious when this jutsu was cast.

"The whole world… what do we do Lord Raikage? This man is even more dangerous than we had imagined…"

At Dodai's words a chill went through everyone's back, Yugino the second tails jinchuriki barely keeping her cool turning to Raikage and inquiring in a concerned tone.

"There is nothing we can do until we find him and with our remaining forces… I can already see that it's nearly impossible still I won't just sit around waiting and do nothing when the men who left my village and son in this state walks freely…"

Thud!

Saying that the Raikage took a deep breath and walked to the window, gazing at the deserted village anger and hatred for that man once again appeared in his eyes but barely keeping himself calm spoke up

again.

"Release the news about everything that happened with no details hidden… let the world know that a lunatic aiming to destroy the very foundation of the world walks among them… I don't believe with the whole world looking for him he still will be able to hide…"

"That would expose our current condition to the world and other villages could take advantage of it to invade us old man…"

Raikage's words fell and the face of everyone in the office changed immediately, Ai with an anxious face immediately putting the concern that most in the office had at his decision.

"You don't need to worry about that… with a behemoth like konoha still around other villages won't consume their power dealing with each other… we may have lost a lot of shinobi but with me, Yugino, Bee and the remaining shinobi we are still a force that aside from konoha no one can underestimate…"

Assured Raikage as he had already weighed the pros and cons of releasing the news and only then had decided to go with it.

"But what if konoha invades us…?"

Raikage's words convinced most of them though Yugino still a little bit concerned, voicing out the only flaw in this plan.

"Well if they want to they can invade even without us releasing the news… so it doesn't really make a difference…"

Saying that the Raikage called off the meeting as most of the remaining force in the village began to act on his orders, spreading the news about what happened everywhere.

Konoha.

Unlike other shinobi villages who were going through a tough period people in konoha had bright smiles on their faces, just yesterday the konoha army days after leaving returned victorious.

This war which they had imagined to last for years ended in a few days and many in the world were having a hard time considering it a world war.

While the people of village were happy same could not be said for the people currently gathered in the hokage office, two main topics under discussion.

One obviously the news spread out by kumo and other about what happened in the village when the fourth hokage left to deal with Onoki and co.
