He sighed quietly in his heart, a feeling of helplessness arose from the depths of his soul. He reached out and wiped away the tears from Meng Xi'er's face, gently holding her close in his embrace.
"Let's go," Lu Yebai said softly.
The flight to England had lasted more than ten hours, during which neither Lu Yebai nor Meng Xi'er had slept. Upon disembarking, they did not take any rest, instead, they embarked on a car journey to a secluded island owned by Lu's father.
After several hours on a yacht, they finally arrived at the island. The island, which was about the size of ten football fields, was surrounded by water and fully equipped with facilities: theaters, swimming pools, and more. It was meant to be turned into a holiday resort by Lu's father.
As Lu Yebai and Meng Xi'er arrived, they saw countless lifeboats zigzagging across the sea. So many, in fact, that they couldn't see where they stretched out into the horizon.
