"No, Shiller, don't." Seeing the familiar expression and casual tone on Shiller's face, Stark made an inference in his mind that this doctor might be very familiar with Iron Man in this world.
Although he didn't know why the Iron Man in this universe needed a psychologist, it was a good thing. It seemed that this doctor was on his side.
And from his words, it seemed that the Iron Man of this world had gone on a long journey, and he, a visitor from a different world, could use this time to accomplish his goal.
Shiller waved his hand and said, "You should be grateful. Miss Pepper has been very busy lately. Otherwise, she would have come looking for you since you've been missing for so many hours. She knows you're always rushing towards me whenever you're hurt."
"Please, Shiller, hide this from her." Stark opened his eyes wide, his eternally moist brown eyes staring straight at Shiller. No one could resist Iron Man's gaze. Shiller sighed and said, "Alright, this is the last time. This is not part of my job."
After saying that, Shiller turned around, took a document from a cabinet nearby, and asked, "This is your medical bill for this quarter. Do you want to sign it here or should I submit it to Stark Industries?"
Without even looking, Stark took the bill from him, signed it, and handed it back to Shiller. Using both his hands to support himself, he sat up and asked, "By the way, where's the AI control core for my suit? It contains valuable experimental data that I need to bring back."
Stark waved his hand and said, "You know, it would be troubling if those high-tech gadgets from the Avengers were left outside."
"Don't worry, Peter has returned it to Stark Building."
Stark's hand, which was holding the sheets, immediately tightened upon hearing this, then he heard Shiller say, "Peter mentioned that the thing is a bit damaged. He tried to connect to Stark Building's AI system several times but to no avail. Therefore, he placed it in the laboratory that you frequent. You can find it on the right side of the shelf."
Stark sighed in relief, nodded, and said, "Thank him for me. I didn't mean to yell at him earlier."
"You really need to work on your temper." Shiller stood up from his chair, "Last time you crashed into a truck and got injured, you almost made the nurse cry. If Miss Pepper finds out..."
"Please, don't let her know!" Stark instinctively interrupted Shiller again, "Little Pepper would kill me! If rich man Stark dies, no one will pay your medical bills!"
Shiller showed a smile, turned back to look at him and said, "Okay, Mr. Stark, the great benefactor who provides bread and clothes, you're alright now, you can go home. By the way, Strange came looking for you just now. I told him you were still unconscious, remember to visit the Holy Sanctuary later."
Stark nodded, and almost flew off the bed. As Shiller continued to document his medical notes, he pointed to a door on the side and said, "The changing room is that way, don't go the wrong way again."
Stark gave him a thumbs-up and rushed into the changing room like the wind. In no time at all, he was dressed in a slightly flashy suit, put on a pair of sunglasses, waved at Shiller, and walked out the door.
The nurses he met on his way politely nodded at him, and some patients who seemed to know Stark smiled and greeted him. Stark recognized quite a few familiar faces, and it dawned on him that this was probably a high-end healing facility for the affluent, and he occasionally visited similar places in the suburbs of New York.
In fact, Stark had a natural trust in the medical profession, because when he was kidnapped to Afghanistan, it was Dr. Ethan who saved him. Apparently, Dr. Rodriguez in this world also seemed to be highly trusted by Iron Man.
As these thoughts ran through his head, Stark swiftly walked down the stairs, out the front door of the clinic, and then a problem occurred to him - without his suit or his car, how was he supposed to get back?
Stark glanced at the sky, it was already past 10 p.m. Even for him, he wouldn't risk hanging out on the streets of New York at this time without any weapons or protection—it could potentially lead to undesirable outcomes.
So, he stopped a nurse who was walking across the square and said, "Hello, I'm Stark, could you call me a taxi?"
The nurse looked at him, a bit surprised, "Oh, Mr. Stark, did your suit collide with a truck again?"
Stark sneered in his heart, thinking that the Iron Man in this universe was really lacking. His experimental accidents were so well-known.
However, it didn't matter. A truly great genius had arrived here, and he should thank himself that his laboratory had the opportunity to be baptized by a real Iron Man. He would leave something meaningful here as compensation for his impersonation.
Just as he was about to speak, the nurse looked at him puzzled and said, "You mean to say a taxi? There are no taxis here... oh, you're lost again, aren't you?"
The nurse gave him a resigned expression, pointed to the side, and said, "The last time the head nurse said you got lost in the square even though there's only one road, I didn't believe it, but now it's happened to me... See over there? That path through the arch gate leads to the shuttle boarding center, just follow it."
"I have to deliver these files, so I can't walk you over there, but if you're still lost, ask the nurse in the building over there."
Having finished speaking, the nurse left with a stack of files. Stark stood where he was, a little confused. He didn't understand what the nurse meant by "shuttle".
Stark was standing in the middle of the square, scratching his face, thinking that maybe it was the name of a special taxi company?
So, without thinking too much, he followed the path the nurse pointed out.
There were many trees in the square in the center of the rehabilitation hospital. It provided a place for patients to relax and exercise outdoors. Hence, the light from the shuttle takeoffs and landings didn't reach here. But once you walk along the path, all the aerial transportation facilities become clearly visible.
This was the wealthiest neighborhood in New York, and almost every famous person owned a holiday villa here. Due to Stark's own interests, the shuttle transportation center of the East suburbs of New York was built next to the rehabilitation hospital. At peak times, the number of shuttles taking off and landing could reach more than 200 per minute.
During the night, the scene was even more shocking, as all the shuttles glowed from the outside. When they moved at full speed, they looked just like shooting stars.
As Stark stepped out of the tree-lined path, he saw countless streams of light dancing above his head, as if he was trapped in an upside-down universe bustling with falling stars.
Standing at the end of the road, powerful beams of light converged together. The bright light made it almost impossible for Stark to keep his eyes open. Raising his hand to shield his eyes, Iron Man's incredulous voice echoed round the square.
"What in the world is this?!!!"
