Chapter 1059: Astonishing the common people (36)_1

Eddie hesitated for a moment, seemingly contemplating how to express his view without sounding too extreme. It's an occupational hazard of being a journalist, but Thor wouldn't care about any of that.

Thor hit the back of his chair with a ladle and shouted, "Shiller! You must be out of your mind! You're not going to tell me all of this was your plan, are you?!"

Before Shiller could admit it, Thor angrily continued, "What do you take us for? We're not helpless, we're perfectly capable, why do you arrange everything for us?"

"Thor...Thor! Don't be like this!" Eddie rushed to stop Thor's aggressive words, but Thor was having none of it. He was brutally honest, "You say superheroes, oh, Tony, and maybe even me, have all sorts of troubles, isn't that normal?"

Thor pulled a ridiculous face and said, "Friends quarrel over old grudges, squabbles with classmates, couples deciding whether or not to have a child, are these trivial matters really worth your intervention???"

"If you really have time to spare, run 20 laps around the Nine Major Kingdoms, guaranteeing complete health!" Thor, hands on his hips, and eyebrows cocked, said, "You humans always think Asgard is uncultured...fine, I admit, we are a military nation. Sometimes, we don't pay attention to emotional matters."

"But do you humans think too much?" Thor squinted, looking a bit confused. He looked at Shiller and said, "Even these small matters you want to control?? Why don't you just control their eating, drinking and excreting?!"

"Let them fight if they want to fight! Even if they come to blows, can't they explain themselves? The affairs between couples can only take their natural course. What's there for you to control if they want to have children?"

"And what strikes me as the most outrageous is, you actually resurrected Tony's parents???"

"Of course, I'm not saying you shouldn't have done that, but you brought back old Stark for the reason to give Tony a perfect ending?!"

"Shiller, how do you know Tony wants to resurrect his parents? How do you know his parents want to be resurrected? How do you know that his ideal ending involves his parents?"

Just as Shiller was about to speak, Thor interrupted, "Don't tell me that you're a psychologist, and you can see. Did Tony explicitly tell you? I don't believe he would say that!"

"Did he cry and tell you, 'Please, help me bring back my parents, I miss them too much!' If he really did that, I'm going to call him a weakling!"

"If he really wants to resurrect his parents, then he should figure it out. Isn't his technical prowess supposed to be great? He should research and invent a time machine, or go out into the cosmos, and look for a world where his parents are still alive, wouldn't that do?"

"And what about Peter Parker, are you serious about wanting to resurrect his parents? I remember him saying that his parents died too young and he has no memories of them. Are you certain he wants to see his birth parents?"

"And as for Steven, don't even get me started. You have clearly underestimated the Supreme Magician. If all the energy that Kamar-Taj currently controls is poured into his body, enabling him to momentarily rise above the cosmos, it's not impossible. If he truly cannot accept his father's death, he would find his own way."

"But what if their efforts cause danger?" Shiller asked.

"Then they have to take responsibility." Thor shrugged, "What else? Would you even want to bear the dangers for them? You're not their father, and they're not babies."

Shiller shook his head, seeming to be at a loss for words with Thor. Thor gave a shrug and said, "I know. It's your greed that led you to do all this."

"You want the superheroes to be mentally stable, you want them to grow more powerful, you want a positive environment, you want everyone to be happy. Shiller, don't you think you're too greedy?"

Thor sighed, looking at Shiller, "Of course, I know, without you, humanity wouldn't have made it this far. But you can't always live in the illusion that you can perfectly handle everything. That's impossible."

Thor leaned on the back of two chairs and said, "Loki used to make the same mistake. When directing tactics in the battlefield, he wanted the enemy to suffer heavy losses and our side unscathed, and even the wear and tear on our equipment and ammunition to be less than the other side...."

"If all the good things in this world were monopolized by you guys, what's left for others to play? Even if you achieve such a victory over one or two opponents, not everyone would leave such a glaring flaw."

Thor shook his head and said, "I still stand by my view, sometimes, Loki overthinks, and so do you. This is a common problem among scholars from the ivory tower."

"In theory, everything is possible. Of course, I don't deny that under ideal circumstances, if your abilities are sufficient, it's very likely that things will develop in this direction."
