"First, I'm going to ask you a few simple questions…"

Karyan, knowing that this was going to happen, sat down and nodded, "alright." 

"First," Hiji started, "how were you able to be reborn? It's impossible." 

"That…I cannot answer." 

"Hhhmmm, I thought you would say that, then how did you survive? Mateo announced your death to everyone a long time ago."

"Even though I thought that I was dead…but circumstances…" 

Hiji walked around, stroking his short grey beard, he paced back and forth. "Why did Mateo announce your death?"

Karyan remained calm. "He believed it to be true."

"Did you deceive everyone?" Hiji pushed further.

"I did not," Karyan firmly responded.

Hiji's eyes narrowed. "How did you escape death?"

"It's complicated," Karyan said, evading the question.

"I need answers, Karyan," Hiji pressed on.

"Answers that aren't mine to give," Karyan countered.
