"What are you doing?" Yvonne asked.
"You have a stain on your mouth," he replied. "I was going to clean it for you."
"I can do it myself," Yvonne insisted, and Javier sat back down.
'What's wrong with him?' she thought.
As they continued eating, Javier posed a question. "What is your goal?" he asked.
Yvonne couldn't help but feel like she was being interviewed.
"My goal," she began, carefully considering her response, "is to find a job. I've got an interview tomorrow, and I'm quite excited about it."
"What is the name of the company?" Javier asked as he put spaghetti in his mouth.
"Well, it is..." Yvonne trailed off. She does not want to tell him the name of the company, so as to not allow him to think she came to him with a purpose.
"Hello," Javier waives to her face to get her attention.
"I can't tell you, because I do not want you to be a hindrance for me."
