Ready Max

Been a first timer in pairing up with a weapon, for some complicated reason, Max felt betrayed by Penelope and Nobody, and his face showed it all. He stood silently, staring at the mask, feeling how to be betrayed feels like.

"Paired up with a one stroke Green Fibered mask that has the ability to blink. Blinking appearance for my entire... damn this life. This is not a weapon." He wanted to see Nobody as he complained but the guy was just a nobody. "Why didn't ah ever know that pairing is like marriage with a zero chance of divorce?"

Without saying anything — that was after saying everything — Max placed the mask on his face.

'Activate?'

'Weapon?'

'Vampire Weapon, activate?'

"How does this piece work?"

"Think of the Character Name." Nobody assisted formally.

'Nullity.'

[You have activated Void Emotion's Character Ability, 'Blink']

"Ooooh... So that's how it works." Max noted.

"Yeah, that is how it works." Nobody replied.

Then, as Max took a step in trial, his appearance blinked and blinked and blinked... But being a Green Fibered Weapon with only one stroke, he ran out of time very fast. "Everything too bad is not bad, says the dumb man." He said with the mask in his hand. "Ah shall definitely see what ah can do with it. Now, where to keep it?"

Penelope was doing like she wasn't here to help him at all, slowly moving through racks of weapons with one hand folded on her back and the other one on her metallic stick. Those weapons were older than many human civilizations, she thought in amusement. As she kept moving, memories of the second great war between her race and the Werewolves kept resurfacing.

And she could recall herself vividly standing in a battlefield with the burning sun shining above it, all young in blood of her enemies, all powerful and dangerous, slaughtering the beastly dogs with her dear husband by her side until;

She dismissed the thought, murmuring: "Not today, no, not today." It was not the right time to shed tears over him again, but in fact, it was the right time to do something for his sake very soon.

Back to Maximus;

While yawning, "You can dismiss the weapon by thinking the word 'dismiss', you know. Heehe. You are a freaking dumbass." Nobody assisted Max once more.

"Oooh."

'Dismiss.'

[You have successfully dismissed the weapon 'Void Emotion']

[System Reminder: Update your Vampire System to the latest edition]

The weapon went into thin air as it came out on the owner's system screen, thinking as Nobody told him to do. Max couldn't be happy about how many years it would take humans' technologies to reach this level of maturity.

His displeasure with being a vampire was notwithstanding still there flaming red in him, and hungry to see him become a human one more time, even for a day or just for an hour or a minute and to meet his mother, and embrace her, and feel her warmth, and feel her presence, and her voice...

He flashed a look at Penelope and asked who was still doing God knows what. "Hey granny,, what is next? I have found a weapon." His face looked moody.

"We make a plan and you make a move in a week's time."

"Isn't a week too long?"

★★★

'Indeed, I waited for a fucking week time.' Max thought in displeasure.

It was a week ago that felt like a hundred years ago: First, he didn't know how his little angel was doing and second, he didn't know where he could even find her nor where Lucas was.

But would he wait for a week?

Does that sound like Maximus?

He was a young billionaire—

No, a teenager who was a multi-billionaire;

Anyway city and the cities neighboring it knew that something big was going on in the country during that week ago:

Energized security personnels were searching for the small girl all over the roads, estates, supermarkets, and all those hidden locations where the bad lones loved to dominate. And everywhere;

So many criminal activities were traced as a result of that fact, leading to the lowest crime rated week the cities had ever witnessed;

Some notorious human traffickers were arrested in many of the airports — So many good things happened because of the Vampire boy but Evelyn was nowhere to be found. His money and influence proved useless.

Everyday as the sun goes down, he stands lonely in front of the big glass wall of his magnificent room that shows the entirety of the city. "Somewhere out there, my Evelyn might be suffering." he always murmured that it became a chorus of the twilight.

Earth never stopped spinning and revolving;

The day was finally today.

Reckoning Penelope's information, Lucas happened to be staying in an entirely different realm. She left Max with the equipment and the information she believed he might be needing to be in a realm he never set any of his eyes on, as caring as it sounds, and then again she was totally gone.

'The existence of realms is something truly insane to my sanity and insane to the sense of sanity.'

Currently, Max stood at the front of a cave situated somewhere very far away from Anyway city, ready to be in the other realm: ready to find Evelyn anywhere possible; ready to go through and through whatever obstacles awaiting him on the other side.

'I need to go man, the time is tinning. Even if I'm not ready, I am ready.' Max thought, then he easily pushed the cart of apples to soon notice that both of its tires made a squeaking sound similar to his curiosity, curiosity about what lay ahead of him behind the magical gate Penelope referred to as the Veil of Realms which never allowed humans to pass to the other sides.

Magically, as he walked into the cave, he surprisingly began to vanish slowly,

Slowly,

Slowly,

Slowly.

And he was gone entirely.

And the witnesses of this event were his parked truck and a grinning Penelope from a very far away distance.
