Emmi watches her cousin as she recklessly drives out of the parking lot, almost hitting a girl at the gate. 

She sees Bai Cai crushing out the cigarette then getting into the car and breathes a sigh of relief. Holy goodness! I really thought Cousin Chloe was about to be catapulted into the afterlife! 

After brushing the accumulated snow off a stone bench in front of the dormitory she sits down. Holding her head in her hands Emmi tries to digest what just happened, Cousin Chloe will never let me go!
